  3. Many of you might already know this, but have you also seen a photo of one of the Panther / M-10 "conversions" ? sources: * Axis History Forum * Axis History Factbook * armor.kiev.ua/Tanks/WWII * Panzerbrigade 150 - Skorzenys secret formation in the Ardennes Regards, Sven

  5. Eieiei......yo know...I was in the "General Lee - Mood", and the name of the image is kursk.jpg...and it was late in the evening and...Ah..shame on me... Regards, Sven
  6. Aye, O.K. now as you have written it, I must admit that it doesn't look at all like a Panzer III ... but what about the tank in front ? Is it a M3 A5 or is it perhaps a SU-..mm ? Regards, Sven
  7. Maybe...but I really don't know... But Apropos Kursk... Could this photo be a shot out of the M3 A5 driver's hatch during the Kursk battle...? ( ...is that a Knocked out Panzer III M or L ? ) source: http://www.cnw.mk.ua/weapons Regards, Sven [ March 11, 2004, 05:39 PM: Message edited by: Trommelfeuer ]
  8. Some more nice photos: M3 "Lee" ( Hmm, did they paint the "Balkenkreuz" on their "Lee" to confuse the enemy or is this really a "Lee" in german service ? ) Tons of captured russian equipment, two Lend - Lease M3 A3 ( or M3 A5 ? ) "Lee" tanks in the middle. ( I wonder what is written on the turrets...? ) source: http://armor.kiev.ua/Tanks/WWII/ Regards, Sven [ March 11, 2004, 04:37 PM: Message edited by: Trommelfeuer ]
  9. M3 "General Lees" in Vyazma. Question * Why didn't the russians replace the rubber-metal tracks with metal tracks ? Too complicated ? sources: * victory.rusarchives.ru - The Allies - russian photo archive. * Battlefield ru - Lend-Lease Aid Regards, Sven
  10. O.K.... and what about this photo ? ( Soldiers conduct offensive on the copse occupied with Germans. In the foreground - fragments of a wrecked german aircraft. ) source * The Leningrad Blockade - russian photo archive. Regards, Sven

  12. Ups! Sorry Mattias, for obviously misunderstanding your post..and thanks for the screener ! I have posted the same thread over at RKKAWWII, and most people agree with what is written here. First photo is most probably from a film. Second photo seems to be an authentic "snapshot". O.K., next ones: Real or fake ? Photo 1: "Being covered by the hit tanks of enemy, soldiers advance." source: victory.ruarchives.ru ( Amazing photo collection ! ) Photo 2: Finnish Stugs kicking ass --> Authentic Stugs ? Or fake Stugs for the film "Ahead of the front line" ? The first photo looks "staged" to me.... About the Stugs...don't know right now... Edit: But if I compare, the one in front looks like a pretty authentic Sturmhaubitze 42 to me... Regards, Sven [ March 05, 2004, 02:03 PM: Message edited by: Trommelfeuer ]
  13. Wow thanks a lot for all the replies gentlemen and gentlewoman ! Michael Dorosh wrote: The text that comes with the photo on A gallery of rare and / or interesting WWII photos is: "Nazi capturing T-34 tanker." - which can of course be false. But MikeyD wrote: ...sounds like it's really a russian tanker who's being dragged out of his T-34. Mattias wrote: If you are referring to the first photo...I don't see any Stugs there...? I'd say the left one is a Panzer III E ( not sure about "E" ) and the one on the right is a Panzer IV F-2 ... ? Regards, Sven
  14. Lol!, Yea, good arguments! For the second one...maybe the T-34 and the Sturmgeschütz crashed together ? And the two germans with head-bandages are from the Stug and the T-34 tankist is still knocked out.. ? Regards, Sven
  15. There are so many wwII photos out there, and often I wonder wheter they are authentic or staged... photo 1 photo 2 * source: A gallery of rare and / or interesting WWII photos What would you say - fake or authentic ? ( When the first two photos are discussed, we could go on with the next photo etc.. ) Regards, Sven [ March 04, 2004, 04:12 PM: Message edited by: Trommelfeuer ]
  16. Yup, Andrew F. made very nice ones! Regards, Sven

  18. ....this Tank. ( Knocked out T-34 and Valentines in Region of Rzhev, 1942. The one in the right front corner of the photo. Is it also a Valentine, what type ? And what type of Valentine is the one in the background ? ) Found the photo on this great russian website: 1939-1945.net while searching for sources for the Eichenbaum.org Forum. * The Battle for Berlin * Lend Lease Automobiles * German prisoners of war * Merry hunting in eastern Europe * The combat employment of heavy bomber TB-E. Part 1 * The combat employment of heavy bomber TB-E. Part 2 * Armor Battles on the Eastern Front 1941 - 1945 ......and much more! Great photo galleries and very interesting illustrated Articles !
