Is multiplayer saves possible in CMSF?
Berto replied to Armchair_Ranger's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I'm not interested in tpc/ip Wego as CMx1. I am interested in RT with the possibility of pause on demand and save (autosave for disconnection). -
+1 But I think will be a few players and PBEM is a very long game. So maybe it is better to make a single match in 3-4-5 or 6 players.

No save option on multiplayer TCP/IP. I hope in CMBN -
Multiplayer - list of opponent finders

There is another Guild on Xfire: http://www.xfire.com/communities/cmx2/roster/ Mitra and I are the admin. And another group on Steam.... -
Find this a tad disturbing...

+1 I hope in a flexible system of pause, no pause at predetermined intervals (like every minute). I think it's more interesting a "call system" between players to pause, with a limit of breaks set at the beginning. -

I have the ATI HD2600, yes is not the "best " (only 256 MB), but my imac runs CMSF and CMA, on bootcamp with XP, pretty well.

Dear gibsonm I am curious to know your opinion on differences (if you've noticed it) in performance between CMSF on win and on Mac OS X.
-
I've played H2H "UK Soldier's Fury BE ", it is a small scenario with only infantry (british module). I think it's well balanced, you can win with the Syrians.
-
Yes, good question for Battlefront We can play campaigns H2H in PBEM?

Printer-Friendly Marines Manual?
Berto replied to Lt. Smash's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
Yes, but not the first time. However, I have the printer-friendly manual marines, so there. -
I think the group Steam is a good idea (there is also a client for Mac ) and I hope to see many players for CMBN. Have been made similar efforts for CMSF, expecially with xfire (http://www.xfire.com/communities/cmx2/). Xfire is a good option, but there is not a client for mac, only partial solutions of third-party (ex. Xblaze for Adium). But the problem is that players do not disperse in different way to meet. Also is necessary a TCP/IP system for play, as hamachi or tunngle and again I think a possible solution for mac platform

+1 And please adding in TCP/IP the ability to save games. -
The question is simple: you purchase once and can play on both Mac and Win (bootcamp for me);which is buy the Win version get the Mac version free (and vice versa). After all, there are 2 licenses! I ask this question because: I am a Mac user and would like the OS X version. But so far I have managed my game with friends (xfire, hamachi, tunngle .....) in window, partition boocamp. In bootcamp I have already CMSF and CMA.

The file size is not a big problem. There are a number of ways, I generally use sendthisfile. I've played matches with files of 60 MB, without problem.

Where are all the community scenarios??
Berto replied to Phantom Captain's topic in Combat Mission Afghanistan
In theory you can open scenarios produced with the russian version. Right. The only problem is the language, or versions are not compatible! Obviously speaking from 1.0 (russian) to 1.2 (battlefront). Why do not you upload your maps on repository? A little map-pack -
Where are all the community scenarios??
Berto replied to Phantom Captain's topic in Combat Mission Afghanistan
I have a scenario almost done (hopefully good quality), I miss the English translation of the briefing, and some images. Title: "Snowy village" -
The problem is that players are few and there are different ways to find. Hamachi and Tunngle are useful for the TCP/IP, but they do not always keep open on your computer. They are much more comfortable the instant messaging programs, where to find people who may be willing to play. I noticed that one of the better is xfire, and join to http://www.xfire.com/communities/cmx2/ This could be the starting point.

Bake Scenarios is not present, I think it is a features abandoned. The Terrain Objectives in the Editor, work. Have you try to paint on map?
-
My goals with this scenario are mainly two: a) One scenario fast and fun for novice players, to begin to understand the mechanics of the game without too many problems. A good comparison between a "combat mission" game and army: CMBB, CMSF (3 version) and CMA. So wait ... "Only about...." in Normandy. The CMA scenario is very similar to CMBB in my opinion; the numbers of units are the same, but in CMBB is more difficult. P.S. No intention of a historical scenario.

I have read of the new tournament. Why not arrange it with PBEM games? 6 or 8 simultaneous players for about 2 months on two or three scenarios (120 rounds, one for day). A scoring system according to the classification and immediately a winner.

There is a room on tunngle.net, "Combat Mission: Shock Force". Tunngle is better than Hamachi, the lobby may contain 255 players!

I have been married for about a decade, so I am a person of experience. And my advice is to postpone the wedding : ......Congratulations Nicdain.
