  1. I see, thanks. I thought perhaps it meant that a F/O had a limit for how many pre-planned strikes he could be calling simultaneously.
  2. Rep for the Python reference. But the fourth one stayed up. An' that's what your gonna get, lad -- the strongest castle in these lands.
  3. What is this limit? Might explain the crashes I get starting the second mission in the CMBN campaign Lions of Carpiquet. When reaching this limit does the game not allow further fire missions to be issued, or can you continue assigning them even when exceeding this limit?
  4. Replied, and I'm up for some PBEM now, or anytime
  5. Me too, check the join date:) But I had a long err, hiatus while we turned thousands of laps in GPL haha. Not to mention Falcon and well, you know. I'm doing fine thanks, and good to see you.
  6. Haha, no but I thought you might be my old Frugal's chum Stardog. Derek Bond here.
  7. Blazing 88s, thanks very much once again. I will grab them tonight or tomorrow. You have been a big help, and I appreciate you taking the time to post them once again.
  8. It's Blazing 88s that deserves the thanks. He even just put up (again) some CMRT campaigns after I asked about it. He is the campaign repository. But I hope to see things like Combat Mission campaigns be a bit more accessible in the future. Is your first name Todd by any chance?
  9. Check this thread, Blazing 88s put up a dropbox with many CMBN campaigns. http://community.battlefront.com/topic/122106-campaigns/
  10. Thanks Ian, I got Road to Minsk and Relief of Army Group North from your link.
  11. I see the scenarios there, but I don't see any labeled as campaigns, and I can see no way to filter by campaign. Perhaps I am just missing it.
  12. What's the best way to go about getting all of the user-made campaigns for CMRT? Could someone provide a list of titles that I can search? Blazing 88s was kind enough to dropbox the CMBN campaigns recently, but I wouldn't expect him to put up the CMRT ones once again, so how should I go about getting the campaigns for this game?
  13. I spoke too soon. The Outlaws does indeed start with several small missions, but beginning with "Linked Up', about the fourth or fifth mission, it ramps up to Company and larger size. Seems to fit Wodin's requirements well.
  14. Another small campaign (platoon sized) is the Outlaws. I was able to play 4 battles in a few hours. Crack US paratroops. It's fun and a nice change of pace from battalion sized slugfests. I had 4 casualties in 4 missions. Crack paratroops are tough as nails and deadly marksmen. They allow you to play more aggressively than perhaps you would in most battles. Great fun with an interestingly done briefing style.
  15. I'll try again, but only issue the pre-planned artillery strikes and see what happens. The first mission recon makes it quite obvious where the main effort should be and I wanted to get my troops shifted in that direction from the start, but I'll see what happens if I wait a turn to get them moving. And as mentioned earlier, I'm on 3.11.
  16. This is a laptop. Specs are i7 4700 MQ 16 GB Ram nVidia 780M 1TB SSD Win 7 Pro
  17. Still crashing. So I replayed the first mission, and loaded the second and without issuing any orders just clicked the button to see if it would work and it did, the turn played out no problem. So I reload and issue orders and it crashes when attempting to begin the turn. So it seems to have something to do with the orders I am issuing perhaps? Those orders are essentially move and covered arcs for half of the troops with quite a few pre-planned fire missions of course, this time spread out among the various platoon leaders and F/Os.
  18. Well, what he meant was that coolant lines would only run from the engine to the reservoir and radiator locations, and since they weren't located anywhere aft of the cockpit the coolant lines did not run through the entire plane. The point you are making is correct, but his correction is also correct
  19. No problem, though I should correct what I wrote. The windscreens weren't armored of course, but 'bulletproof'. The ability to withstand damage is legendary in regards to the Il-2 and P-47. One famous example can be found in Robert Johnson's book Thunderbolt.
  20. Sturmoviks were heavily armored, and Thunderbolts had armored cockpits and windscreens, and most Allied planes had self-sealing fuel tanks by this stage. In addition, Thunderbolts had air cooled radial engines, which were far less vulnerable to ground fire than liquid cooled (Spitfire, Mustang, Bf109 as examples) as there was no coolant system to puncture. 7.92 just wasn't very effective against these Jabos.
  21. Thanks, I'll give it another go. The opening mission only took about 15 minutes so no worries. And thanks for answering the second question too. Looking forward to playing through your campaign. Thanks for creating it.
  22. Ithikial, I started this campaign and played the first mission no problems. I began the second mission, plotted the pre-planned arty and CM crashes when clicking the button. I have the included mods installed. Version 3.11, I have MG and CW as well as the vehicle pack. Is it possible to give an FO too many fire missions? Any ideas what could be the cause? Did all of that artillery kill every single enemy and the computer just couldn't believe it ? And also, in the briefing you mention that the player will get a second crack at most attack missions. In the event of a second crack are you back to the start positions, or do you keep your territorial gains?
  23. I agree, except why does there seem to be so little photographic evidence? You just never see a shot with it in position. The shot I posted is labeled as near Caen. Perhaps pre-invasion, muzzle cover and all? I wonder if they were installed when aircraft were the only thing the occupation forces had to worry about, but removed post invasion when they weren't likely to be poking about above the hatch?
