  2. I was able to host a game last night so it works, thanks
  3. Hi Guys, I went into my LINKsys router and I listed 3 games and used the port forwarding tool. I used ports 7023-7024 to enable them. they have two sections, 1. is called port forwarding and the 2nd is port triggering , I used the tab for the port forwarding. Now I need someone to help me out with a test, by the way any problems doing this? they also have a tab called DMZ, DMZ hosting forwards all ports at the same time to one pc? This one seems less secure
  4. Hey Guys, Last week I was having a problem saving my turns directly into the cmbb\pbem folder during email games directly. So, one day I start my computer (the other day) and my network adapter is unrecognized. Fortunately, I still have my old computer hooked up to the internet. (tip-if you have a old computer keep it around and connected-so handy) and I downloaded the updated drivers to my ethernet card. However, I bought the computer from digital storm and they do a great job with tech problems -called me back and answered a bunch of questions I had. So, I told them I play this old game called CMBB and the problem I was having. Simple solution - Make sure your email client is running as administrator!!! It did work in Vista beforehand and then I did the upgrade to Windows7 and I had the problem. What a simple solution. Now, I can save the game directly into the folder and then I click on the pbem program and it all works. By the way, for those who use the pbem helper program - I always have to use my password in the game before I enter my turn, I was wondering then what is the reason for having the password in pbem helper then? Thanks guys for all your help and that's another "tip" I'll have to store in my memory bank along with all the passwords and forum identities, man system overload. I am off for a few weeks so look me up if anyone wants a direct game.

  6. I might have a fix finally on the problem with directly saving into my cmbb\pbem folder. I need to run Thunderbird in administrator mode. it seems that looks like the problem, my shortcut didnt have the box checked off as admin. I tried an old txt save file and it worked
  7. Hi Nox, I have campaign series from matrix and its ok, i am new at it but pm and i can help you out
  8. Hi lethaface, Hamachi says its for 64 bit but I disagree, otherwise it would work and i wouldn't be getting that error when looking at it in the device mgr section. What do you think of these directions for port forwarding? http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/RT31P2/default.htm thanks everyone
  9. this si a post by someone else but I have the same problem, i look at the drivers and it says not working properly but its 32 bit in the properties. I recently installed Windows 7 on my Sony laptop. I had previously been using Hamachi 2 VPN to access a remote server. After installing 7, i get an error within Hamachi that says "Hamachi Adaptor Error, Peer is not accessible via VPN" After running diagnostics I also get a message that windows is unable to download the needed driver. Hamachi is installed and I'm able to see and chat with other members of the network , but can not access the network files. help! Add a reply Revove from the list of quoted messages Add to the list of quoted messages Edit: Check that.... newest version is 2.0.1.66 Yes, that is the version I'm running. I've had an IT guy working on the machine for two days and he's stumped. I had a similar issue when running Vista, but only intermittently. With 7 I'm able to chat with other peers on our network, but am not able to view network files. Doesn't make any sense. Hamachi says that it's compatible with 7, yet I keep getting errors that windows is unable to download the appropriate drivers. I can see the Hamachi connection in my device manager (with a yellow triangle next to it) I'm at a loss and not sure how to proceed.
  10. Ali baba tried to help me out on this hamachi but we couldn't get it to work correctly. I am running win 7 64 bit and I was able to play cmbb the other day but not as host. I tried cmsf today with ali and couldnt connect. I tried to host and it doesnt show my Hamachi IP address. It showed my 192.168 address. i have a linksys router and I did one of these online program downloads which checks your ports and it said my 7023 port was closed. However, shouldn't windows 7 in the control panle allows all this stuff to work? all my online games work? i'll have to try again with a cmbb game
  11. I installed the program again and when I look at the details for opponents on hamachi it comes up with a small yellow triangle with a vpn config problem on my opponent or person in the hamachi lobby?
  12. By The way, I searched for direction about hamachi and cmbb and found this link of a program that has all the games for port forwarding except i dont see cmbb look at this http://www.portforward.com/
  13. Thats what I was tring to come up with, a live lobby to find players who want to get into a game. By the way, I have a new machine, 64 bit and running windows 7. I downloaded Hamachi and tried to host a game but was unable. When I was trying to connect it would show my hamachi ip address. I opened hamachi and it claimed that I dont have current drivers and i tried to download them and no luck. What do you have to do to get this working and would someone like to help me out with a direct game on anything? I would just like to get it to work. I think it could be something i have to create in the control panel, I am able to chat though and i joined the group and opposing players have a little yellow triangle near there handle something about vpn status I was also able to join a game, not being the host and didnt use hamachi, that other program called tunggle doesnt have cmbb in there program group
  14. I was wondering if they plan on having an in-game server list or something like Steam has to find other players, that would be fun to find players who are waiting for a game instead of pm's and email.
  15. Hi, I have read some of the rules and it looks interesting, Just need to read more so i can understand them a little better, h (demy)
  16. i dont think that works for me, i just take the txt attachment drag onto the desktop then drag into the folder of pbem.
  17. hi ravells, i have always been able to notice my pbem folder but when i tried to save the game it won't allow me to save in the cmbb program file folder where the pbem folder resides. therefore, now i am dragging the attachment to my desktop and then dragging it again into the program file folder under the pbem folder. Is there a better way to do it?
  18. hi marius, i just fast forward below the timer to get the game moving
  19. Does anyone do this? Since I can't save directly into my pbem folder what i am doing now is saving the txt file onto the desktop, cutting it and pasting into the cmbb\pbem folder. I was wondering, could you make a shortcut of the pbem folder on the desktop and would the game recognize that shortcut on the desktop as the game pbem? I am using pbem helper and i wish it worked more easily with windows 7. Has anyone ever made a similar program to the pbem helper?
  20. i noticed this program called Tunglle from germany looks promising, anyone try it yet? They say its better than hamachi http://www.msfn.org/board/tunngle-gamers-alternative-hamachi-t136323-pid-897892.htmlentry897892
  21. Ok, it seems that i can connect to another player without hamachi. However, I would like to be able to host and I tried today to do this but no luck. When I tried to set up a game it showed my 192..... ip address and not the hamachi address, you guys know about all this and i had no clue about ports etc.
  22. I ended up just saving to my folder which contains a folder called cmbb and then I believe the pbem helper program will hopefully recognize it, a lot of the forums have complaints about windows 7 and the inability to save directly to the root folder of the program.
  23. Moon, This is what comes up when I right click on the text message from my Thunderbird email account. c:\programfiles (x86)\cmbb\pbem\ name of file.txt You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the My Folder instead? All worked fine until today when I tried to play the game but this time it was through Windows 7. I did run the game as an administartor and I am the Admin for the computer. Any help is appreciated since I also use pbem helper thanks
  24. Hi, need some help, I try to save a pbem game in the dialogue box that pops up when asking me to save the turn. The appropriate box comes up but hen it won't allow me to save the turn. A message comes up saying I don't have administrator rights to save in this location. It wants to save it in the my documents area but I don't want it there? Any help? It worked fine with Vista but the Windows 7 reads it differently thanks
