  1. Well, to have been banned from a decent site as this is you must have asked for it.
  2. A while ago somebody mentioned a new book on the 24th Panzer Division, called "Death of the leaping horseman". I've visited the site, took a look at it and ordered the book. Today it arrived and I just would like to say that for all those interested in German tank units/warfare, this is an excellent book. Especially if you are interested in the fighting at Stalingrad this is the book for you. www.leapinghorseman.com
  3. Great site, Tracer, thanks a lot. Especially the artist impressions make great desktops. And the Grenadiere MP3 file makes great background music for CM.
  4. Add Two Towers. The battle of Helms deep makes your blood boil.
  5. First class, as always! Makes winter scenarios even more enjoyable. Can you tell us when your Waffen SS winter uniforms for the early period (especially winter 1942-43) will be finished, Andrew? And yes, I know I'm a greedy, ungrateful dog.
  6. Especially the Heer panzer crew looks great. Excellent job, thank you JorgeMC.
  7. Thanks for your recommendations and the links to some great sites. I bought Angolia's book (in German, which is no problem for me, since I speak it) and the books by Nigel Thomas and Andrew Stevens. Truppenführung and Michael, thanks for your help. And you have a very interesting site there, Michael, my compliments.
  8. What are the best books about German army and Waffen-SS uniforms/equipment? I would like to buy some, but would like some recommendations first.
  9. That should be; "Any chance on a set of etc." Sorry, didn't have my coffee yet...
  10. Excellent job, Andrew, well done. Any change for a set of Waffen-SS winter uniforms (gray parka and white winter camo) for the winter of 1942/43? And what are to your opinion the best books on German army/Waffen SS uniforms? I want to buy some, but would like to pick out the best.
  11. Although I appreciate and admire the people who put their time and effort in making those great whitewashed vehicles, I can't help feeling a bit frustrated about the lack of winter uniform mods for CMMOS. Just an ordinary, white winter uniform for all troops available (including Waffen SS and Russians) for all periods. Let's face it, it should have been included in an eastern front game in the first place. This may sound ungrateful to those people who gave us this wonderful game and all those great mods, but it isn't meant that way.
  12. Your new early-war Waffen-SS winter uniform (especially the grey one) looks very good, Andrew, well done. Only one question. I've noticed that the winter of 1942/43 is not included in the early period and since I'm a great fan of the battle of Charkow I would love to see Waffen-SS troops with white or grey uniforms for that period. Just a hint/request. Anyway, this mod is great. My compliments.
  13. Is a simple white uniform for the Soviets also in progress? I know it has been made for the late period (set 2 of MikeT) of the war, but not the early period (set 1 of MikeT). White uniforms were available even then, or at least white sheets were used, as the Germans did during the first winter in the east.
  14. Yep. I also tried editor made scenarios, set in January or February. It is a matter of just unzipping in the bmp file, isn't it?
  15. I've downloaded Heer_Winterzip3 (winter uniforms), unzipped the white_heer zip file to my BMP of CMBB, but nothing seems to happen? Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
  16. I wonder when snow uniforms for CMMOS will become available. Is anyone working on it and when is it expected to be finished? Now the vehicles are all white-washed the normal uniforms seem out of place in snowy landscapes. I understand it is a lot of work, but I'm just curious.
  17. http://www.geocities.com/Augusta/8172/panzerfaust.htm#intro Not especially AFVs, but great side for Combat Mission fans
  18. Bought both, practically at the same time and I'm playing both. I love the Normandy battles, so CMBO is here to stay. And CMBB, more advanced in certain ways, is also great (still waiting on winter uniforms for CMMOS though). As a matter of fact I hardly touch my other games anymore (with the solid exception of Steel Panthers and Medieval Total War). That says it all...
  19. No SS Panthers at Kursk. The only unit that used Panthers during Zitadelle was Pz. Rgt 39 with 200 Panthers (source; Die Deutsche Panzertruppe 1943-1945 by Thomas L. Jentz).
