startegy guide
farmerch replied to war_is_fun_to_play's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
I guess you can't download it. It is a book, so you won't be able to download it. -
All your units share one mind. If one of your units sees something, the collective knows it immediately.

Linux version for the next CM game?
farmerch replied to PCI SgtRock's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
Yeah, beeing a Linux user myself I would be happy to have a Linux version of the next Combat Mission. However, I am not that optimistic. And therefore I won't give up my Windows version. -
Overidentification of artillery spotters
farmerch replied to Glider's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
It is indeed an important bug. Depending on how it is coded, I might be patched. However, it is more likely to be in the next patch of CMAK than CMBB. (As far as I know there won't be any more patches for CMBB) -
Flight Simulator from Microsoft also has a full flight review feature. Including lots of other recorded infos of your flight.

There is no offical way to watch one big movie of a battle, nor is there a user-created tool.

icons indicate a place where you have seen a enemy unit that has moved out of your sight. The icon will stay there until you see this unit at another place on the battlefield. you cannot target the icon, but the area. if the unit is still there it will be pinned (depending of the heaviness of your fire), and of course get injured.

Any News on Mapping Mission for CMAK?
farmerch replied to winkelried's topic in Combat Mission - Scenario Talk
none that I have heard of. -
Screwed up status bar during TCP/IP
farmerch replied to Screeny's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
after doing the set up, you alt-tab back to the chatroom. you tell you opponent your ip, then go immediately back to combatmission and wait, until the 3D graphics have loaded. otherwise the screen/program doesn't work. once both players see the map, you can use alt-tab without restrictions. -
Campaign Tool - Testers wanted!
farmerch replied to Pyewacket's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Hey there These tools of yours sound very intersting. If this works it would be awsome. I haven't heard of any other tool that can handle that! Maybe you can upload a few screenshots on your homepage? It is easier to download the files when knowing what it looks like. -
no way you can get to 1280x800 with that. you would need to set the resolution of your windows higher before playing, but you can't due to your limited options on the laptop.

www.cmmods.com that is all you need.

Help with German Translations
farmerch replied to rexford's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Yes, SchnellerHeinz is correct with the translation. Nevertheless, the source of these exoressions is a little bit strange as it doesn't quite reflect proper German language. But I guess schnellerheinz grasped the meaning. -
give the CD more time to autostart. it takes several minutes in my case. (it is the CD protection that causes some problems)

WaffleGrumbling ... damn CDV again !
farmerch replied to Pascal DI FOLCO's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Well, go to cmmods.com and look for a mod (probably it covers more bmp's than just the waffengrenadiere). And to address the censorship problem, well... it is the law. The main goal of the German law regarding Nazi symbols is not to get rid off this stuff in strategic game, but they decided to fallow a pragmatic approach. I can live with it - and a mod -
Oh yeah, read-only for that file is good idea to check first. It definetly has something to do with the CMAK "Preferences" file.

takes 10(!) minutes to identify setup.exe from cd
farmerch replied to Euri's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
Hi, same problem with my CD's. Now I just keep CMBB in my CD-drive, the DVD-drive is free for other disks and CMAK is started from a CD-image. I guess it would be possible to do the same with CMBB, but I haven't tried. -
No, that is not dangerous in any way. I mean the buttons on the monitor itself that widen/narrow/move the part of the screen that is used to display data. This hasn't got anything to do with refresh rate or screen resolution. Nils: when is Operation Störfangs' next version ready to play? [ February 05, 2004, 02:39 PM: Message edited by: farmerch ]

at that resolution the GO button should be several centimetres away from the right hand side of the screen. Remove the preference file in the cmbb folder and start the game again. (you could change your monitor settings by using the buttons on your monitor itself, but that is just treating symptoms)

Hi 1. You go to www.cmmods.com and register for free. 2. Then download the helper programm that will keep order to mods you are just about to download. 3. Then download all mods you like from the same site. Your opponent will not see your mods. Only his own.

I use another harddisk for the movie I record. I can assure you I doesn't make much of a difference unless that harddisk is a very fast one (instead of a common one). -
