  1. Actually, I don't mind a bit of randomness. Simualates luck and is nice regarding players who check to many tables to calculate whether they will win or loose when using auto-solve battles. -- btw: Jochen, ich würde auch gerne von dir lernen.
  2. Hello I have got a question. My artillery strike comes down off target. How can I adjust it? Should I just wait and it will correct itself? or do I have to give a new target and hope this time it will come down where it is supposed to?
  3. anti-alising should be switched on. sounds like you have it switched off. to switch it on don't try anything in the game menu. you need to open your grafic-card settings and do it there.
  4. Good idea, it would work perfectly with CMBB.
  5. Is it useful to conquer a town or other infrastructure (apart from roads that increase speed of movemenet)? Are there any advantages like victory points or other benefits (better fuel/food supply, men heal/relax faster))
  6. I think the question is can you set victory conditions to: - attacker A must reach town xy within 4 day - attacker B must move infantery to railwaystation ty - defender must attacker not let cross forest dz something like that. it has not much in common with the cmbb victory conditions but for a campaign - it is vital to be able to set different goals!
  7. They never claimed to be a full operational game. The suggestion is to have the auto-battle function solve smaller fights, but to the other battles on your own. And to calculate the outcome of small battles, well... it doesn't need to be perfectly balanced (even though I am sure the developers put a lot of work in this).
  8. Just came across CMC and would like to say I am excited now. Definitely, I am going to buy this add-on!!
  9. Oh, and you have been taking "The GW Bush explains history" course.
  10. Hey, I am anti american. However, I don't consider this forum a place to talk about politics. From my point of view, people here want to play a good game and they want to play it well. As there are hardly any politic debats (which I prefer) I reckon there won't be any political censorship needed.
  11. probably you are using the wrong cover arc. most units use only one cover arc. tanks and some guns however have one cover arc for infantery (orange) and one for tanks (blue).
  12. There is a CDV in Europe, yes. It is also "available" on Ebay.
  13. I know of no such scenario pack that teaches you how to use different force mixes and such.
  14. I am a driver in the swiss army. We were supposed to camoflage our vehicles when waiting more than 5 minutes somewhere. in a real combat situation, well... i guess you do it when beeing told so. and in cmbb/cmak the player is the one in charge.
  15. I you like KURSK, there is everything you want. http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/town/avenue/vy75/maps.htm, more infos about kurs are at the bottom of the site.
  16. The excel-tool makes it really easy to play a campaign (even easier when downloading a pre-set campaign). I don't know much about computers, I just like to play. And well... I can play now
  17. outstanding work. you really put a lot of energy/time into modelling a piece of metal for just the view of it in a computer game. ever thought about contacting Battlefront to ask whether they are interested in fully modelled vehicles for the next CM series?
  18. Swiss Army, 2001 (not volunatry -> mandatory service) Here is the model which is used nowadays: http://www.panzergreni.ch/funktion/waffen/waffenindex.htm
  19. Oh dear, I tried to update my core force from the battle.cme file, and then somehow to continue with that one. Ok, I will go on withth the core.cme file. Thx so much for you quick and very understandable reply!
  20. well, I wouldn't notice anybody inside the woods hiding, either. but you can see stuff moving behind the woods. you just look through it. trees don't hide much of your view. bushes and hight grass, on the other hand, block your view effectivly. besides, the border of a forest usually blocks your view better then the inside (bushes grow on the border, not much inside)
  21. well, the other crew member just have a look and guess. we used to take terrain elements into account. You know how a medium tree or a bush look from 500 metres. So a truck behind those trees might be 550 metres away. (we used that technique to estimate the distance to vehicles when learning how to use a panzerfaust)
  22. I started with the campaign, but quickly run into trouble. I have finished my first battle and kept record of kills/killings, but how can I continue? I am trying to delete the support-force to go on with my core force. Which file do I have to open in the editor? the autosave and my personal savefile from the end of the game don't load any troups. what am I doing wrong?
  23. Sorry, I have a problem: I still cannot get my troups loaded. >>Just start a QB, load the save as the map for the QB and "import troops = yes".<< Where can I select troops = yes?? I have tried to find that feature, but without success. When I start a QB and choose "Load from file", I get the previous map, but not my units.
  24. http://kottonmouth.trouble-free.net/~exbyte/updates/ww2/ww2.php that is better than the picture folder. nice feature: some pictures are in color.
