Scheer is absolutely right. The CMBO, CMBB, and CMAK, forums contain a wealth of information from players who know what they are doing. Its a great resource. Also study AAR's. These let you see how other cyber-commanders handle their troops. Go here AAR's for them. When all else fails get a human opponent (either live or PBEM) who is willing to help a new guy out.

I'm sure the guys at Battlefront rest easier knowing that.

Who might that majority be? It seems there are quite a few people playing now. Not every game is for everyone. Just because many of us choose not to use Gamespy shouldn't bother you in anyway. If you like it, cool. You asked a question, and got responses. What did you expect?

You should probably perform a forum search. There are threads aplenty concerning mods. What one person thinks is really great might not appeal to you. The neat thing about mods is that they give you the ability to customize the game to your liking. Hit some of the mod sites and pick and choose. You really can't go wrong.

This speaks for me also. Playing against different people is great, but I also like having a small core of guys that can be relied upon to give me good, honest, games. I've gotten to know some of these folks rather well, which makes gaming even more fun for me.

Rest at ease, the game is balanced. Mods enhance the look of the game with incredible improvements on terrain, uniforms, and equipment.

Why use Gamespy at all? What's the point?

Although CMAK appears to function correctly on my machine, I am getting very choppy and slow graphics. I'm not a computer guy so I need some help. I suspect its the RAM, but here goes: OS-XP Home Edition CPU-2.406 Celeron processor 120 Ram Intel ® 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV graphics controller Screen resolution is set at 1024X768 true color I hope that's enough info. I would really appreciate any help you guys can throw my way.

I generally "walk" the ground first, then use the LOS tool to resolve any iffy issues I might have. For me the 3D enviroment and the ability to get down in the dirt with my cyber-troops is what keeps me hooked on CM.

I love the Depot too. Its one stop shopping. With the Depot I don't have to go all over the net. Its all right there.
