  1. Gents, thanks for the encouragement. I thought I was gonna be burned at the stake for this heresy. Now that I know that some of you are interested in camo Russian tanks, it gives me the motivation to continue. Lee, don't worry, I have some pics of historical Russian camo schemes. I'll do those too. That shoud keep everybody happy.
  2. Somebody asked me to do some camo T-34s. Here's a preview of what I have so far. I know these camo schemes probably don't have any historical basis. I just did them for aesthetic reasons. Hey, why should only German tanks look cool? I'll probably do some historical schemes too, for the purists among you. Anyway, on to the screenies... 3. Vader's Jester, isn't that Blanar's Panther in the middle of that pic? I don't think I've seen the HT on the left before. Is it a CMBO mod? BTW I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Is this positive or negative feedback?
  4. Guys, thanks for your comments. It's interesting how people's tastes vary, i.e. everybody seems to pick a different favourite camo scheme when given a choice. theike and Lee, I'd certainly like to mod the other German HTs. IIRC Andrew said that he might do plain versions of the other ones. If he does, I'll probably camo them. If not, I might port the textures for his plain 251/1 to the other HT's so that I can camo them. That's if he doesn't mind, of course. Limey, thanks for the tip. Also, I seriously doubt that "Tricolour Splotch" is the official German name. Actually, that camo scheme reminds me a bit of some of the German uniform camo schemes, such as the famous "splinter" pattern.
  5. I've uploaded camo versions of the Sd.Kfz. 251/1 by Andrew Fox to CMMODS Those of you who checked out the preview thread for these mods may notice some slight differences in the camo on the release versions. I decided to tweak the camo a bit before I uploaded them. Here's the obligatory screenies. Bicolour ------------ Hasty ------------ Tricolour ------------ Tricolour Splotch ------------------
  6. I'm just about to upload these mods. I've applied camo to the Sd.Kfz. 251/1 recently uploaded by AndrewTF. Here's the screenies. Bicolour -------------- Hasty -------------- Tricolour ------------- Tricolour Splotch ------------------ [ July 02, 2003, 09:31 AM: Message edited by: Flesh ]
  7. Zimorodok, I'd like to give this a go. My mail connection is pretty slow though. Could you put your starter files up on the web somewhere? I suppose I'll do the captured T-34's first, as I've more experience with German camo. I'll then move on to the Russian camo. BTW I've been using some of your "silver" files. I've got some Panthers that are almost ready to upload.
  8. Thanks Mike!!! Your amazing StugIIIG textures played a big part, that's for sure. ColumbusOHGamer, sorry if it looked like I was casting aspersions on your server. I was really just thinking aloud, fully expecting somebody who knows more about the system in question to clear things up. Anyway, I think I know what the problem is now. It looks like my web browser was caching the files. That must be why I had to change the file names. Also, there must be some kind of bug in the HTTP upload/post functionality of the browser, hence the corrupt files. FYI the browser in question is Opera 6.0. I'll try a different browser. That should hopefully fix the problem in future.
  9. Derfel, thanks for the encouragement. In reply to your question, no, you can't use these mods for the StugIV late. It's the same problem as with the StugIIIG and the StuH42 - the gun mantlets are different. However, I'll look into modding the StugIV late. It might take me a few days though, as I'm working on some other mods. Yeah, the StugIIIF/8 seems to need modding too.
  10. Very nice. I like the camo and the details. Is it from scratch?
  11. I seem to have fixed the screenies on CMMODS. It appears that in order to replace a file you have to upload the new version with a *different* file name. If you don't do this, i.e. if you keep the same file name, the file is not replaced. Also, I could be wrong, but it looks like the HD that is being used for CMMODS has a number of bad sectors. At least that's my take on the problem. [ July 01, 2003, 12:26 AM: Message edited by: Flesh ]
  12. Thanks for the feedback, Lee. Unfortunately, the tricolour StugIV is not one of the mods that I'm worried about. The two that appear to have corrupt screenies (at least on CMMODS) are the bicolour StugIV and the tricolour splotch StugIV. I just hope the zip files aren't corrupt too. Then again, the problem could be on my end somehow.
  13. I've uploaded three camo StugIV mods to CMMODS. Here's some screenies, as two of the screenies I uploaded to CMMODS seem to be corrupt due to some server problem. I'd appreciate any info on this. I've tried editing the mod and replacing the screenies, but this doesn't seem to work. Tricolour StugIV ------------------- Bicolour StugIV ------------------- Tricolour Splotch StugIV -------------------------- Note: I used some of the textures from the excellent StugIIIG pack by Mike Duplessis for this mod. I also used some of the textures from my PzIVH mod, which were based on the default PzIV textures. [ June 30, 2003, 10:01 PM: Message edited by: Flesh ]
  14. Thanks for the feedback guys. I gotta go sink a few beers. Bye for now.
  15. I'll try to post these mods as soon as I can. However, I promised a buddy of mine that I'd get drunk with him tonight, so these mods may not appear until Saturday or Sunday. Derfel, thanks for the postive feedback. I mainly do mods for my own personal use. However, I've come up with a system that allows me to create tank and vehicle mods really fast. That's why I'm doing requests.
  16. I decided to do a tricolour splotch version. Here it is. Any takers?
  17. Okay, I've done both versions - tricolour spots and bicolour stripes, both with the current base colour. I also darkened the brown component of the tricolour camo. I thought it could do with the extra contrast. Anyway, here's Lee's requested tricolour version. This is the bicolour version for Derfel. Don't worry, I'll add the markings. Just want to make sure that the camo is right first.
  18. Sorry Lee, you must have posted while I was typing my last post. So, it's one vote for tricolour spots and one vote for bicolour stripes, both with the current base colour. It looks like I may have to do two versions to keep you guys happy. No problem.
  19. Derfel, your vote has been duly noted. You're currently winning the vote 1-0. If nobody else votes, it's gonna be bicolour stripes with the current base colour. Also, don't worry, I'll add markings. Any preferences? Just crosses or crosses and numbers? I'll make them optional too.
  20. You could have a "gentleman's agreement" with your opponent that one or more contested flags (or a flag changing hands within the last five turns or so) results in a "compulsory rematch". By that I mean that you import the map and units into a new QB and go again. Another five to ten turns or whatever you and your opponent agree to. You could either disregard the result of the first QB and only consider the result of the second, or you could average both results. Anyway, what do you guys think?
  21. The StugIV is almost ready to go. I've touched up the small details, removed the pinkies etc. Anyway, should I keep the current camo scheme? If not, what do you guys suggest? Stripes, spots, splotches? Should it be bicolour or tricolour? Should I use the one of the camo schemes I did for the StugIIIG mods? Also, should I keep the current base colour. If not, what should it be? Dark tan, cream, green?
  22. Did somebody say StugIV? I managed to produce this mod by using the textures from my PzIVH mod and some of the textures from Mike's StugIIIG pack. I hope he doesn't mind. I still have to clean up some rough edges, remove some pinkies etc. It should be ready in a day or two. [ June 25, 2003, 08:24 PM: Message edited by: Flesh ]
  23. I've uploaded a tricolour StuH42 late to CMMODS. It's based on the excellent StuH42 pack by Mike Duplessis. Here's the screenie. [ June 25, 2003, 03:50 AM: Message edited by: Flesh ]
  24. I'd like to say a big "thank you" to Mike for releasing his StugIIIG pack. Those textures really are fantastic. I've uploaded another StugIIIG - a StugIIIG late mid. Same URL as usual: CMMODS Here's the obligatory screenie. I went for a more subtle/sparse camo scheme this time. [ June 21, 2003, 02:39 AM: Message edited by: Flesh ]
  25. Guys, thanks for the kind comments. Anyway, I've uploaded a bicolour StugIIIG middle to the same place: CMMODS Here's a screenie.
