The STALINGRAD Pack - Released at last!
Nidan1 replied to Scott B's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Thanks Lads, appreciate it very much. -
Anyone notice how testy all the assorted grogs, and outerboard posters are becoming lately? It seems very sad that with all the turmoil in the world that people with a modicum of intelligence (not too many around here), would be spending more time with more serious pursuits, like real life, etc. People are actually attacking each over things like the "chirping birds" "cowardly infantry","when is the patch coming out" and a myriad of other things, that I have not even encountered in any of the games I am playing. The whole forum seems to be becoming a giant MBT, and sadly the real MBT is a place to come for refuge, and a dose of real hatred, rather than the fake hatred out there. I think we should all get together and pummel PL to death, so Delaney can get the insurance, (if he has any), and she can throw us all a great big party after the patch comes out.

What Ladder Is Everyone Playing?
Nidan1 replied to Col Deadmarsh's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Then I guess it all comes down to a matter of personal choice, doesn't it? I have only been playing CM about six months, although I have played just about every wargame from "Gettysburgh" to "East Front II". Regardless of whether or not the battle is "balanced" or whether or not the other guy is "gamey" (whatever that is). I play, and I think most others can say the same, because I enjoy the game. I played the AI exlusively for a few months, and then got my son into it. We played TCP games, and he consistantly beat me, (I taught him everything). It took me awhile to actually get into a game with another person, and since then, thats all I do. I belong to a couple of ladders, and all of those game experiences have been fun and positive. I have aquired many opponents through this forum alone, and only once through the Opponent Finder Thread. Some folks like to see ratings and scores and the like and that's OK. I just enjoy playing, whether I win or get my ass handed to me (which is more often the case), I just love the game, and any vehicle through which I can meet and play new opponents is fine with me. Thanks Bruno -

Question for the anti-tank mine grogs
Nidan1 replied to Hans's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Russians, used a version of the tilt mine during WWII and strapped them to dogs. The rest is obvious. As with all these types of applications, I dont believe they were widely used, once again for obvious reasons, can a dog tell the difference between a T-34, and a Panther? -

A little too well hidden?

Anyone remember that scene from "Platoon" when Charlie Sheen was walking point, and never saw the bunker that was directly in front of him.? Enough said. -

Nah, you're supposed to put the back legs in your waders and then push the critter up to a cliff edge. Or so I've been told.</font> -

Right on, Abbott, has AJ tried to get you to play his Jochen Peiper-Beyond Thunderdome battle yet? Talk about gaminess, Three German tanks become surrounded by armies of dune buggies spewing methane gas flames, all the while in the background you hear the grunting of pigs, I guess he has hacked the engine after all. I think Mr Joe Shaw realizes, as do you all, in you slow-witted, age encrusted way, that this place can use some additions to the gene pool. The constant in-breeding that goes on in this Cesspool can only eventually cause the demise of the thread, and the survival of the THREAD is all important in my mind, not the knuckle-draggers who populate it. Therefore, it is a good thing that folks like me hang around, no matter how dull and lack-witted we may appear to the rest of you. New blood is a good thing, and change is inevitable, get used to it! I say bring it all on, I pesonally choose to stick around. -
