  1. I have no problem with my 7900GT at 1680x1050 and enabling AA before I enter the game. If you're having problems ksp58, list your machine so we can assist you.
  2. Mike - your built-in ATI Express 200 video chip doesn't have anywhere near the processing ability of his 512MB x1650 Pro card. Not trying to insult you, friend, but it's not even in the same ballpark.
  3. Uwe - You have installed the offical AMD dual-core patch, yes? Have you tried the latest "Omega" drivers instead of the offical ATI ones?
  4. Interesting that Sandra reports "max installable memory - 2GB" when you're trying to run 2.5 Gigs. If you are hardware handy, I'd be removing those two 256MB modules and leave the two 1 GB modules in. Normally, mixing memory module sizes is a no-no. Who helped you assemble this machine? Please post the first two paragraphs from the "Mainboard" analysis in Sandra - then scroll down until you see "Expansion Slots" and copy that, too. Please don't list the entire Mainboard analysis... 5. There's nothing wrong with the game, I promise you. There seem to be a couple OS/vid card driver/ingredient "x" combonations that cause the choppiness, and they are trying very hard to figure it out. Zimbower88, Rak - what antivirus are you running? Have you tried turning this off? (make sure you unplug/disable your connection before you do so!) There have been several users who had great success from doing this. Rak - how choppy? You are sorta at the lower end of the playable specs (no offense, I ran a Barton 2500+ overclocked to 2.17 GHz for a couple years myself.)
  6. Just for kicks, try running TOW with only 1 card (disable SLI) and report back. Someone else was having some trouble with a CrossFire setup as well... what resolution are you running, BTW?
  7. manic_mat (and everyone else who needs analysis): This piece of freeware is called Sandra Lite. It tells you more than you ever wanted to know about your system - download here Handihoc - Chad44 discussed the NVidia HT option earlier in this post. I don't see it in my drivers, but I don't run an Intel, either. Spartan/Mike - see if that HP box has a PCI-express slot for a video card upgrade or not. Or just run Sandra if you don't want to physically open the machine and give us your motherboard model. Zimbowe - did you try disabling the EAX in sound options? 8. What card are you running, just so we know?
  9. Okay, now that you've blown off some steam... what is your configuration? Don't post the entire DXdiag file, but we do wanna know your vid card, driver, version of Vista, proc, memory, anti-virus software... give it up, and we'll help you.
  10. Sarjen - NewEgg is dumping 2.4 GHz socket 939 San Diego-core 4000's (that's with the full 1 MB cache) for 60 bucks or something. Get one, though I'd check your NVidia driver, etc. as well (see below.) ScottD - try disabling the CrossFire ability and re-test. Report back. NVidia guys - investigate this: "I change drivers but that wasen't the problem In the Nvidia Driver Control Panel I Had threaded optimization set on ON That why it was running like crap i put it on auto it run's alot!! better or off ethier way it run's much better so i just set it to Auto..."
  11. Alright, give me the models of your laptops... we'll figure this mother out.
  12. Copy that, sorry for the wait. I assume that DSL is the most common broadband in Sweden... what D/L speeds do you get within Europe?
  13. I'll ask you one more time - what is your connection & service? DSL or Cable? Can you cough up any information so that we can possibly help you?
  14. Thanks, apologies from the slow-witted. Getting a steady 635 kb/sec...
  15. What is your service, chanss? I'm D/Ling TOW from the server at 635 kb/sec steady with a 5 MB Cable connection in Boston, MA. Another great serivce is www.dslreports.com which analyzes your D/L speed & potential problems...
  16. Mike, Re-try, but this time disable "shadows" and "self-shadowing" and report back... Carl
  17. Thanks, man! Just what we needed, little surprised not to see the default keys in the manual...
  18. Mike, Give this driver set a shot - supposed to be compatible w/ATI mobility GPU's... Omega driver Let us know...
  19. Chad44 mentions it a few posts up from here... gotta be something in the Driver Control Panel... we could ask Chad44 what NV driver he's using... I don't see it in mine, but since I don't run a PIV, there's no HT at work.
  20. What's your specs, maniac_mat? I mean, driver version? Any AA settings in effect? What else is running in the background? You have turned off this "HT" ability in the Nvidia driver set? [ April 18, 2007, 07:01 PM: Message edited by: Hpt. Lisse ]
  21. Not a deal-breaker, Elvis, just a detail. Perhaps after a month of TOW those green icons would stand out clear as day. Now those gun hits, that's gonna need some attention.
  22. Mike - problem is, (depending on the hardware-abilities of the 200 chip) your computer may try to offload certain graphics functions via software rendering, which would then consume CPU resources.
