  1. After doing some research and reading on some of the members suggustions... I've discovered that my tactics are correct, (being Ex-Army for 10 years even in todays age you learn bounding overwatch and combined arms skills, and also being a WW2 History book and film reader/watcher nut)... but my problem seems to be picking the right units, since I mostly play point PBEM games... So I guess my question would be... when picking your units for a point meeting engagement..how do you read the info bar on the unit, how would I know that a 88mm gun will take out this type of armor because they only have a certain amount of frontal/side armor... Any help on reading that info? Thanks again in advance... learning something new everyday.
  2. Hello pretty much new to strategy games, and new to CMBO and CMBB... was wondering if anyone knew of a online strategy guide for either CMBO or CMBB? Been playing alot of point PBEM games, and losing everyone of them. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  3. (I know this should be in tips and hints, I asked for advise in there... no one seems to read that one. lol... and this one flies by to fast. lol)
  4. Hello fellow gamers... I got into CMBO late (6 months before CMBB), and only played point meeting engagements with fellow members of my gaming group, well with CMBB, I've only played points Meeting engagements again. My question or request to the knowledgeable gamers... I suck I've played about 50 pbem games with both games and lost about 48 of them, (draws on the other 2).. Heres basicly what I do... Make 2 or 3 task force, put a few tanks in each team with some infantry support, a couple of recon vehicle to explore, a couple of spotters for artillery, maybe a sharpshooter or two... I then spread them out and usually bring the center force up to the flag area to capture, then move the two flanking forces to move up destroy targets, come to there rear and take out the rest.. theres more to it of course, but thats the basics... pretty sound tactics I think.. BUT I'm sick of losing, I love the game, but always seem to lose... any tips on gameplay any of you more experienced players can share. Attached is a screen of my most current battle, used the same strategy but got destroyed, (My Panzer iv's rounds would bounce off all it's targets, while my opponants KV1's and T34's would get one shot one kills on me. I've been issuing proper hull down commands and even shoot and scoot commands but still get eaten alived. (this is near the end of the points battle, I got the flag but not defending it with much anymore. any tips or ideas to a rookie player? Thanks in advance...
  5. Hello fellow gamers, As a webmaster of my own gaming group, I'm kinda tired of putting up new screenshots every day, they just don't seem to express the real action. My question for you, my fellow gamers, anyone know how or what program is good for recording game footage, and converting it to a .mov file for uploading?
  6. THANKS... search found a great site with all that kind of info. http://www.ihffilm.com/index.html
  7. I know this probally should be in a off-subject forum or a General forum, but there ain't one, and gamers here seem to be the most knowledgable on the subject... I've got quite a collection of WW2 tank, armor, infantry tactics, (I even have all 6 manuals battlefront sells on there web site), books and reference materail... but I would really like a video (or DVD) of WW2 armor tactics to watch and learn from, (the videos on history channel, thou good, don't really go into tactics and strategies). Anyone know of a good resourse to find video or DVD's of WW2 tactcis in armor, infantry, and/or combined arms? Thanks in advance for any help.
  8. according to the manual... smoke and the way fire spreads. Nothing meantioned about shot round effect.
  9. Anyone know of a database with the new units, there firepower and armor? If so post a link will ya, thx. I'm playing a points game via pbem with a friend... I had about 7 Panzer iv's, split into 3 teams with infantry support, one in the middle, smaller teams on the left and right flanks... all pushing in... 2 KV2's (thats all I saw) slaughtered my armor, only 1 armor unit left... Wondering... is that actually accurate or did I just get unlucky. lol
  10. Agreed about the spoiler... but I sure hope everyones done that mission.. since it's the tutorial. A great way to learn the new arc commands, and the hull down command.
  11. Hell...if they think CMBB is "dull" wait till they try "GI Combat", (the demo)... now thats dull, 1/4 of the units that CMBB seems to have, and half the commands. I'll stick with my CMBO and CMBB, they can have there arcade games. (posted in truth, but fun.. being sinical, lol.)
  12. I have my 2 gig desktop, and my 1 gig Dell Laptop with the GeForce2 Go... and games solded from Battlefront are GREAT laptop games... I have all of them on my laptop CMBO,CMBB,SC,Tacops4, and Red devils... all work perfectly. Any nvidia card, (the GeForce Go cards you meantioned) will work just like a desktop with the Geforces... they all use the same reference drivers and direct X files. as for the new Radion, cant answer that, but if it's a card made within the last year... you can almost bet they will all work. Good luck, good gaming.
  13. Ya right... lets see send it back for 5 bucks, and the time to do it, that jacks up the price from 50 bucks for the first game to 55... a plot? (joking, Im sure it's not a Battlefront plot.lol) and I know how to order online, I didn't click order TWICE.
  14. I recieved a 2nd copy myself, with a reciept telling me the cost... 50 bucks, haven't checked with my credit card yet, but I'm sure I was billed twice if I got a reciept included. I e-mailed customer service a few days ago no response yet.
  15. Thx understand now... I got into CMBO late, about 6 months before CMBB was released, so thou I've played alot of PBEM, haven't really check out the missions and campaigns... will now. Thx again.
  16. Yes... I've done the "Whittman in the East" mission, about 5 times... but that scenerio is none that I read about, I read the one above and like to try my hand at reliving the greatest tankers, greatest battle, greatest day.
  17. and another one... (I would love to take on the role as M. Wittman in this mission coming up behind the enemy and trying to destroy as many as he did, lol, possible? (well actually, maybe not, this was on the Western front, so may not work)
  18. Hello there, I haven't really learned, or have the experience yet, on how to use the map and mission maker for CMBB... but for you makers out there looking for an idea, I would really love to re-live this battle...(hint, hint)...
  19. Excuse me for being an idiot on the subject matter... These "mods" that are on popular sites, (like Tom's site), are these just better images and sounds, that replace current bmp and wave files? or do they chage the game engine, characterstics of the unit or game? Why I ask: I know I used alot of replacement images and sound files in CMBO to make it look and sound better, and I'll do that also for CMBB, but I don't want to change any of the game mechanics, I would think Battlefront would be more of the experts then modders on whether a T-34's front armor slope is this instead of that. Thanks in advance... rookie startegy gamer here.
  20. I got the press release version a week before that, so now I have 3. lol e-mailed your sales department, waiting for reply. Thanks.
  21. Battlefront... I love your game, got it since day one, and no problems for me. But now, 2 weeks later, I got another copy from you guys. Need a customer service contact number, to see about returning it. (anyone else getting 2 full copies of game, with instruction book?)
  22. Thx for the info... I guess my main question is where can I find histrorically correct maps for CMBB, to use in scenerio building.
  23. Played CMBO for about a year, and now got CMBB, but never used any of the editior tools, or map making tools for the programs. My question, for you experienced players, Can I set up my own historically correct battles using just the simple "quick battle" then picking the units I want, (without the spend limit)and placing them where they should go on the supplied map, or do I have to learn and use the scenerio editor to get the type of set up I want, for the actual units and there positions in a battle. and if the ladder... where could I get information on map making and scenerio making, (besides the manuals tutorial and info ) Thanks in advance.
