  1. simply move the whole folder over, don't even look inside.... then move the other to non-folder files to the appropriate one. So, unzip and drag, the three things from the zip to the appropriate folder.
  2. here's some screenshots.. I lost my track, took another hit, one of my guys flew up in the air out of the tank hole? and landed behind me, I still continued on with a victory, lol... bottom of page: http://www.magnumland.com/t72.htm Thx Moon, now how about us test the limits to this game, and make a HUGH tank battle mission? (I would, but I don't know how, ;()
  3. http://www.magnumland.com/t72.htm has screenshots that your looking for... and NO, there is no replay feature, and in game there really is no other tanks, objects, or enemy view keys... just YOU, till after victory or defeat, then you can move around to different vehicles.
  4. Has anyone found a way to remove this text, in the red circle, by using the settings? thx in advance... again...
  5. and while I'm here: Whats "No Targets Table"? Thx again.
  6. I've managed to adjust the realism settings as not to show waypoint boxes and target boxes... but anyone know how to turn off both the test on the left from the AI TC... or the text on the right where it list target information. Thx in advance.
  7. I understand if you can't or won't say anything at this time... but over at SimHQ, there is a post with a link to a post from Crazy House about another T72 style game... Is this a separate game there doing just for there Russian customers, or is this the add-on for T72 that will included multiplayer mode? Just looking to verify some rumor's and/or information... as the Land/Armor news contributer over at SimHQ...I'd like to confirm. Thx in advance.
  8. Ya, just my 2 cents... I wish the TC was modeled when sitting up in the TC hatch, you would get more range and visibility, and a bino function.... with it closed you couldn't spot infantry in the woods almost a K away.
  9. Are you sure Moon... I picked English for both options... and still get the Russian abbreviations, like in this screen... http://www.magnumland.com/images/Screenshots/T72/shot_2005_07_10_11_17_02_0009.jpg
  10. BRAVO Moon, Bravo... Just played both, both nice missions, not to hard but with luck and some fast movement to hull down positions, I got a victory on both. That power plant is my new favorite single player mission, It was all close quarters battles for me, (under 500 m)...SWEET! A couple more "samples" would be nice
  11. did you set a waypoint? I believe it has to either be programmed already in the mission, or in F11 map, click move then set waypoint... I believe?
  12. and a key chart here at Battlefront, I would assume that most keys/features would be in the demo, but I could be wrong.
  13. Yes... I use my powerful Dell XPS Gen 4, with an external Soundblaster Video capture device with a Home theater version DVD/Hard drive combo connected via digital inputs... some times just fraps for quick and easy vids... then I edit with Studio 9 Plus and Liquid 5.5... but I got those two video's of SB2 from a beta tester... I'm hosting them for him.
  14. OK... I know Backspace removes the instrument panel from the screen... and the P key turns off that waypoint marker... But is there anyway to turn off the text on what the AI says on the left side, like STOP, 10 plus times etc ect... and anyway to turn off the text when the AI scans and identifies targets? Thx in advance for any info.
  15. As most of you know, T72: Balkans on Fire, does NOT come with online/internet multiplayer support. Battlefront has assured us that a add-on will come later which will include online multiplayer. Battlefront has never let me down, so I tend to believe the fine folks over there. What T72 does come with is LAN support, and I guess it supports up to as many people that can fit in each position of each tank, and the number of tanks in the battle, as long as your all connected with a LAN. I, with a friend of mine known in this community as "Snake Eyes" tried a program called "Hamachi", which lets you use an internet connection as a virtual LAN... and it worked! but the problem we had was that whoever was the client had major lag, unplayable lag, (I am proud to brag that I still got a victory on old Snake Eyes, even with the lag by letting the AI take over TC and Gunner, HAHA SnakeEyes... you got SMOKED!" OK, sorry... back on topic... So anyway... I wanted to test the LAN, so I booted up my Dell laptop and installed the game. The game comes with two disk, which are required to be in the drive to play... but you can use either disk, so I was able to set it up. (Don't fret Battlefront, immediately after my LAN test, I un-installed it from my laptop.) OK, So then I called my 10 year old daughter, Jessica over to me to help with the test. "Jessica, come over here and help daddy play a computer game." "is it Diablo" "NO, I stopped playing Diablo years ago." "But I liked diablo, telling you when your health was low while you were fighting all the monsters." "Ya, well this is a new game, and I need your help to test it." She comes over... "another Army shooting game, NOOO, please dad, I want to go play." "It will only take a minute"... I then explain to her how to drive the tank, and that were both going to be in the same tank, I give her a little practice time, and tell her what to push when I say.. "This is boring, I want to play Harry Potter" "HARRY POTTER, That game sucks, this is a real game, this takes brains and coordination to play, so behave, sit down, and shut up... were starting soon." (I did not say shut up, story effect folks, lol.) So we started the LAN, I picked the TC position, and she joined as my driver... I called out the steps for here to start the engine, move it into gear, take off the mountain brake, and steer and gas flow... she then calls out to me... "Dad" "yes dear" "Are you going to yell and cuss like you did when that guy shot you a bunch of times in that America's Army game?" "HEY! That guy was clearing using a aimbot cheat, there was no way he could of shot me that quick and that fast over and over! Now, I said never to bring that incident up again!" "OK... so, am I doing good" "Yes, great job, listen for my orders" She continues to drive I begin calling targets and my gunner engages, I'm giving her turning orders, stop and go... were doing good... we start to come up to a hill... "OK, Jessica... find a nice hull down position so I can engage" "WHAT?" "Come on, a hull down position... NO! don't go over the hill...STOP! Go Back! NO, your going forward... STOP Damn IT!" "OH DAMN It Jessica, you got us killed, I said to stop!" sad with a slight tear (for story purpose only folks)... "I'm sorry, I didn't know what you said about down, I thought you meant down the hill... I'm telling mom that you cussed and yelled at me when she comes home..." "ahhh, it's OK sweety, you did good, real good, we don't need to tell mom what we did" "I'm telling here that you yelled at me for no reason" "come on sweet heart, I wasn't really yelling, just talking loud... want to go to the Circle K and get some ice cream or something" "Sure" OK, conclusion... The Home LAN was working great, you only get one co-op mission for some reason and three war on war adversary missions... the pick screen lists the tanks on both sides, blue team and red team... and you simply click where you want to be and in what tank. Then the host clicks play...and game on. Like I said the home LAN worked well, it was smooth and trouble free... currently connecting through the internet, like with that Hamachi program is a NO GO... it can be done but the coding isn't up to par to keep a good frame rate between machines, so for now... unless you have a bunch of local buddies all with T72... you'll have to wait for the add-on for multiplayer action, when it does come thou... I have a very good feeling that it is going to kick some serious DONKEY! and I for one can't wait... until then, enjoy the Single player, and learn well... because I WILL SEE YOU ON THE BATTLEFIELD once it's supported.
  16. Moon, I know what command your talking about, at least I think I do... on the F11 map, you have movement speed... but thats only for the other units "attached" to you, ain't it? I tried that and with my tank... the driver drove the same speed, he also drove over the hill on the side of the enemy and stopped.. either I put the wrong waypoint there or he did it on his own. I don't know... thats why I'm asking... I want to clarify it all too, just put it, hopefully, in a more entertaining way. then just a question.
  17. I had an interesting morning with T72: Balkans on Fire. I wanted to test the four different positions you can take in the tank, and leave everything else up to the AI. This is just my opinion and experience with this test... results may vary, lol. I used the single player missions "Meeting Engagement", because that seems to be the most active of the Single Player missions. My goal is to learn each position, before taking on the campaign. I started out as the driver... The first thing I did was hit, F11, go to the map and click "mount", this ordered my escorting infantry squad to climb up on my tank for a ride. I then exited the map again by hitting the F11 key, and watched from external view (F9 key) as the infantry units ran over and climbed up. I then started my engine by holding down the E key, till it turned over... I again went to the map mode (F11), and clicked on "movement", you then click your waypoint... remember, baby steps... I simply clicked on the front side of the next hill, just north of my starting point, so I would (along with my other two attached armor units) simply move then crest to see the action. I exited the Map (F11) and the 2 others started rolling, I increased my fuel, (up arrow), put it in 1st gear, (plus sign on Key Pad), then hit the "mountain brake", which is the B key... I then began moving forward, I steered to my first waypoint, putting my 2 other armor units in a wedge formation by bringing up the map again, (F11), and clicking wedge formation, then exiting map again. I eventually moved to 2nd gear with another hit of the NP plus sign. As I approached the crest of the hill I assigned as my first waypoint, I dropped it back down to 1st gear, with the NP minus key. I then crept up the hill, as I crept I hit my number 3 key to tell my AI commander to scan for targets, he immediately called out a tank with the direction, range, elevation, and type of round, I then hit the number 2 key which orders my AI gunner to open fire. The round started downrange, I sat in my drivers seat, fighting the urge to move and take over the other positions, I then put the beast in gear and maneuvered for a better hull down position... in the drivers view this is easy to do, you simply find a nice crest and move up to the base, you'll get a general feeling when your in a good position. You, in the drivers internal view, wont see the battlefield, but you'll be able to estimate the turret part of the tank. You'll know for sure when you here the TC (tank commander) calling out targets, and the gunner engaging them. At this time, I wondered why my other two tanks weren't engaging, then I realized my mistakes.. I quickly went to the map mode (F11), I then ordered them in line formation by clicking on the button that says... you guessed it, line formation. They then moved up towards me, for proper formation... it was a sloppy line formation, but hey there AI, right? I then clicked on the fire command, then all three of my tanks started opening up and engaging far distant targets... it was BEUT-T-FUL... (so, the moral of that above paragraph is, that you order YOUR tank with the 1, 2, 3, 4 etc etc keys... you order your "attached" units via the F11 Map mode... remember that future tankers!) I should mention that the infantry, riding on my back, on there own jump off and stay in the rear... I never see them engage, but hey... there there for ya. So, we finished with the observed targets, the main house objective was to the right (EAST), I, by going North first then turning right with another waypoint for the attached tanks, was "flanking" the objective... remember that term boys and girls... FLANKING. Meanwhile, there was another 3 unit tank platoon that started on the far side, they Being AI and all, moved directly from there starting point, Point A to the Objective, Point B... I do wonder, and will find out later, if, when making a mission, if you can program the waypoints an AI unit(s) to follow certain paths, like valleys, roads, flanking or suppression type orders, OK, back on topic. I had a hugh danger zone to cross after the battle for the hills to get to the house objective, I put my boys in a Vee formation per the F11 Map mode, and ordered the movement with another waypoint... I then got my beast moving along at a nice slow pace across the dangerzone, while my AI TC and gunner, engaged a couple of more tanks, AT guns, and some hiding infantry... as my team approached the house, we got our VICTORY screen... then took a look at all the different vehicles on the battlefield by hitting the escape key, and clicking next veh over and over... what is beautiful about the after action look is all the shots, who shot it, and the trajectory into the burning tank.... VICTORY as a driver... sweet. OK, now I wont go into as much detail as above... I did that for you beginners or future tankers still sitting on the fence on whether to buy it or not. Kinda like a simple story tutorial. So then I tried it as the gunner, and the commander... I did pretty much the same thing... but I did notice one hugh problem... the AI driver is a mad man! Once you set the waypoint in the F11 map mode, and hit your tilde (`) key, which orders your AI driver to "move to the next waypoint"... he guns that bad boy and your cruising about 3 times faster then you should... you can order the driver to STOP with your 1 key, which he does immediately. You can order him forward and back, left and right with your number 5,6,7,and 8 key... you can order him to turn towards the enemy, (if you have him spotted with the scan key), with the 9, and even the "find hull down position' with the 0 key... but like I said, he's a mad man, and moves way to quickly.... I haven't found a way to slow him down. Needless to say, he drove us over the crest of the hill and we got SLAUGHTERED... DEFEAT! (all because of that damn AI driver IMO.) Well... firing the gun accurately ain't to easy either... You use the arrow keys to move the turret up/down/left/right... Select your ammo type with you B and N keys, (look in your glossary of the manual to see what abbreviates are what, and when to use what ammo type.) Load is R, as soon as you fire, hit that bad boy... nothing worst then firing, then moving your turret to a new target or another hit on same target, clicking fire and nothing happening because YOU didn't reload... if your exchanging rounds with an enemy tank... the one that fires more accurately and faster wins. Q for the machine gun, when you got those pesty infantry boys trying to sneak up on you or flank you. Don't forget some of the tanks require you to turn on the target system (s) key, then you right click to find your range, then right click again to comfirm.. then fire. (mouse will zooms in and out of your gun sight. I died again because of my AI driver... So in conclusion... what I learned... Try and control and move to the correct position of your tank... because YOU are better and smarter then the AI... use the quick commands when needed, like during the heat of battle, but if you have the time, do it yourself... especially driving... my experience this AM has shown me that you can play and win as the driver... because you can put yourself in the best hull down or tactical position, while the AI TC finds the targets, and your AI gunner shoots the targets.... but the AI driver is a MAD MAN with suicidal tendencies. Hope you learned something from this rather long, and ridiculous post, lol.
  18. This is nothing fancy, no editing, no effects, no music... just a simple collection of clips from one of the single player missions, "Engagement". (BE WARNED: MAY BE A SPOILER)... The settings are the default settings... which are about medium, I still need to work on proper adjustments... I have played every single mission and tested LAN... I have NOT started the campaign yet, so can not comment on the game yet... BUT I will say that this tank sim rocks, has problems, but Battlefront is great at supporting there games and there community members, and I fully believe that the problem areas will be fixed with patches and even a add-on later with MP service. Support independent developers/publishers like Battlefront, there PC gamings future IMO... Plus how many tank sims do you know are in development anyone? ONE! http://www.magnumland.com/Downloads/T72Test.avi (recommend you right click and save as) I am considering more video's... training speech video's, mission walktroughs and my favorite...music video's of game play action... keep an eye open.
  19. I have a home LAN that I will be trying it today on, I only have one copy of the game, so I wasn't sure about the user rights on more then one PC... but since I'm only testing, (because my two daughters will never play it with me, lol)... I'll try it today. That program worked fine, if it was that program, then the connection would of never been there I would think... we connected, saw each other in game, he just had no controls... more testing to come... more missions would of been nice, I don't have time or energy to make missions, I barely have time to play missions.

  21. Snakeeyes and I just used this free, nice program, to play LAN games over the internet... http://www.hamachi.cc/ We were able to connect without a problem, but first we tried the one and only co-op mission, which was simply to drive a tank from A to B. I started out as the commander, SE was the gunner and we were on our way... but SE could see out of his sight, but not load or fire, he couldn't change positions either, like to driver or commander, but I could... I was like in my own tank as in single player... he was in, but never saw the vehicle moving or anything. Then we tried a competitive mode, we both were able to see our tanks and infantry... I was able to control half of my men as usual, but SE couldn't control any of his... even with me walking him through on team speak, how to mount, move etc ect... 1. Has anyone been able to successfully do a LAN game? 2. Does anyone know what the problems may be with our LAN game? Why can't he do anything in my tank in co-op, he did join as the gunner in the pick your spot screen, why can't he see us move, see us die, or move to another position within the tank? thanks for any info or guidance.

  23. IMO it's not hard at all, (considering I'm trying to learn Falcon 4 Allied Force right now too, lol... now thats HARD)... The manual is well written with all the command keys listed in a chapter and on the front and back cover... Pretty simple, but detailed enough to be a sim... I wouldn't compare this to OFP thou, I love this game... but my biggest complaint, (and understand I have just done all the single missions so far, NOT the campaign, that might be different...) but it seems like it's pretty much you and your small group against, another small group of bad guys... it's like your own little battlefield, theres no battlefield immersion, if you know what I mean. HEY! get it... not only to support independent developers but companies like Battlefront, who have brought many great games directly to us... and there just ain't that many tank sims around anymore, anyway!
