  1. Welcome kyuss. The only place to get CMBB (CMBO) in the US is online. If you liked the demo, grab your credit card and order both now. As for the mouse scroll, use higher elevation camera mode (3 or 4) and hit "ctrl"+left mouse(?) and you jump across the screen and then manuelly zoom in to fine tune moves.

    Hope that helps.

  2. It really depends on who you are playing against. Some people get all bent out of shape if you mix units that wouldn't "typically" be fighting together; i.e Romanian troops and SS armor. I normally check this out with my oppenent beforehand to avoid problems.

    As far as unit selection goes CMBB has really changed my notions on choice of units. Having my KT ko'd by Stuarts has definitely gotten old. Maybe I am getting tired of all the tank battles but I now tend to pick more inf, thin-skinned AFVs, and definitely more MGs. One exception to the AFV is the Stug. Even with no turret its a nice lil bit for punching holes in Ruskie armor. And you can buy more to protect your flanks. Haven't played a lot with the Allies but the M17 is a new personal favorite. I love chewing up squads with that beast.

    or that annoying donkey fellow
    Now, now, that little Yek-whatever fellow is quite nice and even mildly entertainly. These two qualities make him stand out, or at least float to the surface, in the cesspool. :D

    {note: cesspool is neither in bold or capitalized for it is spreading. Even now, the fun-loving (or was it sister-loving?) MasterGoodDrool has been seduced by the Inane Side. :eek: }

  4. Played once and killed in it.

    I think I had 3 squads with 3-4 in each squad, 1 AFT, no ammo and got a minor victory. That ATG just left of the road waxed my HT w/ inf gun. I moved my troops over the to right, staged in the trees for fire support. The inf gun worked the line over after I spotted a good number of trenchs. I was leapfrogging squads into the trenches and had half of my men in the trench and then the Ruskies opened up. His guns were pretty useless other than the HT first shot kill. :mad:

    When that started to fall apart scooted farther right. Rolled up the oustside elemants and advanced into the town. Moving up hill and advancing house to house I reinforced my battered assualt force. Rolled em right back off the map. Well the AFV helped too. Can't remember what they were but those 20mms can take out a MG bunker if you are patient. :D

    Lots of fun. Maybe I will play it again and see if I get my ass spanked.

    Face it. Your Stugs don't have a chance. Quit buying them. Go with Panthers. A Panther is a dangerous tank.

    Why limit yourself? I love throwing Stugs in the mix. Good for inf and any silly Allied armor that gets too close my uber-truppen. :D

I don't know how this is different from a lot of other tanks in CMBO, but just have them cover your inf and stay put until they just have to be moved. They're easy to get into hull down and like CA said, with the sloped armour, it seems like half the time the first hit by a sherm with a 75mm gun will bounce off the thing.
    I like at least 3 with overlapping arcs. This helps to protect from side shots. If you can get them all in hulldown positions w/ overlapping arcs of fire, then they really shine. In a wide open map...forget about it.
  6. When my buddy came down from Seattle, months and months ago, he laughed at me for not having CMMOS installed. I hemmed and hawed as the whole "mod" process seemed to a be a pain in the ass; save original files, remember what goes where, etc. Hell, I want to turn my computer on, load CM and get to killing. After 2 minutes with CMMOS I was hooked. I was changing mods before each battle. In fact, I think I spent more time dicking around with mods for the first month than I did playing. Now I won't download a non-CMMOS mod because I am too lazy to mess around with 'em.

    Very well done Gordon.

  7. In a CMBO PBEM with Tanklord , I killed 2 PSWs with first shots from 2 Green Canadien Stuarts in one turn (1 PSW per Stuart). :eek: In an attempt to honor those 2 brave crews I started an ode to all things Canadiem in the General Discussion Forum...it promptly sank to page 87. :( Methinks I am part of a Pro-Canadien minority. :confused:

    I have funny things happen when I am loaded as well. Fuzzy resolution, lots of urination, girlfriend mad me, etc. Reiinstalling is always a good idea. In fact, I off to home to re-install the malted beverages whose effects have worn off suffficiently to make me realize I am not at home and playing CMBB. :D
