ROW III Overflow Tourney
gnuif replied to Treeburst155's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Bumping because the reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Sorry for the delay guys. Still haven't heard from Egbert btw. -
Madmatt, I suspect you're counting on the memory wiping effects of alcohol and old age, but if you guys are going to bring out another patch for CMBB (I understood not) or getting close to the release date of CM3, nothing you're going to say is going to stop the Refreshing Monkeys after this bit of bamboozling.

If they're going to model that it'll probably be a little more complicated then that. My guess is that a large low velocity round (rockets, Steilgrenate 41s, etc.) would be affected a lot more than smaller high velocity rounds. Though the accuracy of the low velocity rounds at long ranges (where they would be more affected by high winds) is already abysmal, so one can wonder about the benefits of modeling this.

Russian AA guns... my dilemma
gnuif replied to Kirill S.'s topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Erm. The screenshot you posted says it's a 37mm gun in the unit info panel. The photo from the book shows an 85mm gun if I'm not mistaking. And the gun in the photo actually bears quite a lot of resemblance to the german Flak 36. -

I've had some success harvesting buildings and little red stars in them using the Sturmharverster. When I used it, it increased my victory percentage. That must be good, right?

The CM AI Tells All: Humans Cheat!

I find that drinking beer enhances my morale. Is that considered cheating? -
That's what you get for deploying AFV's upside down.

AI cheats! (with real data)
gnuif replied to Warren Peace's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
By setting the FoW to none, you guarantee that the Russian OpAI will be aware of the german vehicles and hence react to them. I don't know if this makes the Russian TacAI also aware of them. The OpAI's awareness isn't a problem I think because the command delay all vehicles will probably only move after all shots have been fired. But the TacAI may react sooner. Just a thought.
