HELP! applescripting mod name problems...

EDIT: err i am talking about the script "Replace Text in Item Names.scpt" hoopenfaust recommended in another thread. I need help here. First i cant open the script from os9 by simply dragging it from OSX onto my os9 desktop. So i reboot into osX and open the script, and it works ok. So i save the script to my os9 disk as a script and boot back into OS9. Now i can open the script, but everytime i run it in os9 i crash. I really dont feel like booting into osX evertime i need to delete an extension of a mod name. Any ideas? [ December 14, 2002, 04:32 PM: Message edited by: Sidewinder ]

problem loading some mac mods
Sidewinder replied to pavlov's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Whats happening is your resource files are overloaded. I think they have a limit of 15 mb (give or take a few) and when they are too big they do that...i had the same problem. To get rid of it, i had to "mod" it again using the original bmps from the cd. There is a way around the limit though, as the game searches every resource fork for every bmp, so if you have say the tiger tank bmps in your grass bmp fork, it will still display, all the while overcoming the limit...or something. To do this, download resedit (just google it...should get a result), open the graphics file in question, copy the bmps you want to move, and open another graphics file and paste. Then delete the bmp numbers from the original graphics file. Any bmp can go in any graphics file, and still show, so do it until you're happy with the amount of room left on the resource files. I am not the best at explaining...so sorry if that was a bit confusing -

I run the cmbb demo on an 8mb card...runs fine. Don't think the graphics card has much to do with turn calculation but i suppose it could -
No more annoying resource forks to mess with! is the full version going to have the bmp/wav folder setup on the mac as well? [ September 02, 2002, 03:24 AM: Message edited by: Sidewinder ]

how about a sneak preview in Calgary, Alberta? -
In a TCP game tonight, i had a PZIV completely surprise (i verified if i had surprise with my opponant) a sherman from approx 100m, with a beauty flank shot. it shoots and gets a "hull penetration, no damage", and is then KO'd by his sherman on the first shot. The PZIV was in a hull down position too...luckily a schreck got in range and tore the sherman a new one.

i love mods. there is nothing like opening up a dawn attack with surlybens skies, old dogs grass, kumps bases and tanks trees, with af+fernando's uniforms....not to mention the other gazillion mods i use. thanks guys. Note: the other day i had to use the original graphics because of the map size and my imac not being able to run it...it was still tons of fun. but you knew that.
