  1. Mr. Dozer, Do you happen to have a saved turn where this is repeatable? If you can send me instructions on how to repeat this as well that would be great. Send to support@furysoftware.com Hubert
  2. dougman4, I'll reiterate what others have mentioned here as well... please feel free to add your ideas to the Strategic Command Design Challenge found here: http://www.battlefront-store.com:8080/community/announcement.php?f=16 You never know, your idea may get adopted or be popular enough to receive a free game Hubert
  3. aesopo, as mentioned before there will be a few other surprises added in to the Global Campaign and a basic economic model just might be one of them Hubert
  4. MajorRH, this looks fantastic, great job FYI, you might be interested in the PDE expansion as we figured out a neat way to simulate Coastal guns, essentially immovable units with no AP but can still strike at enemy targets. Take a look at this screenshot and you will see what I am refering to as it might enhance this mod even further: http://www.battlefront-store.com:8080//images/stories//SC2/PDEgallery2/Image17.jpg
  5. Sombra, I think the difficulty is really in terms of having default parameters that everyone can agree upon. So I'm guessing the point pzgndr is alluding to is that if the default is not what you like then feel free to crack open the editor and change the parameters more to your taste. Often others may agree with the proposed changes and you will find players that are more than willing to go along in online games. For example in SC1 *bidding* became a very popular method of addressing the play balance. While this may initially sound like a cop out, and even suggesting the Editor it is often criticized, it is at least an option. On the other hand, if Armuss' suggestions achieve critical mass whereby pretty much everyone agrees then I think our track record has shown we implement the popular suggestions into a future patch and essentially create a new default setup for the game. Even still, this is something that as a game designer I need to be very careful of post release as not everyone may necessarily agree. It is a very fine balance for sure. Hope this helps, Hubert
  6. Honch, I don't think this is a problem at all... send me an email (see my profile) and maybe I can help you get things set up. Hubert
  7. Silvio, We debated this one during development and the general consensus was that it would take away from the more important strategic aspects of the game. This way players can focus more on strategy, tactics and overall planning and as a result the game would be less reliant on luck of the dice, i.e. to avoid the situation where the first player to get the bomb essentially wins the game. Hubert
  8. dougman4, Thanks for your feedback and in the end it might come down to the idea that what you suggest as a "fix" may not be viewed similarly by others, including for now, myself. Other "fixes" have also been proposed in the past such as stacking but again this would change the nature of the game play as would what you suggest. In the end the game is what it is right now and while many seem to enjoy the current style of play, there are of course others who prefer a different setup such as yourself. That being said, I won't say it will never be implemented but if changes like the one you suggest are to be implemented it will likely be for a different game or another incarnation of Strategic Command all together. Also, for reference, my mentioning content is simply another way of saying to make the most of what I have done so far since it has been a success up until now, i.e. limit the risk of future development, and continue to make a living in a timely manner. It is unfortunate that it has to be this way but it is the sad reality for games such as mine. Hope this helps, Hubert
  9. In case you haven't noticed yet we have a series of blogs posted that highlight much of what PDE has to offer. 11. Sombra, there is a new 1939 campaign that will be included that starts around March right around the German annexation of Czechoslovakia. This one has garnered a lot of excitement with the Beta testers as it is a whole new fresh look at the Fall Weiss campaign. Essentially it allows the German player to try a few alternate strategies, i.e. invade France first or go for Poland a bit earlier and even allows the Allies to reorganize their units for alternate defense or even offensive strategies once they enter the war. Lots of options and a few surprises as well and I hope to do a more detailed write up in the next few days.
  12. dougman, It is a valid idea but one that unfortunately for now would require a bit of work on my end, as Timskorn has allueded to, to rework possible balance and AI issues. At the end of the day there is only so much time for what needs to be done that currently we are working generally within the existing game engine framework and on new content. I do hope that one day when there is more time to revisit ideas such as yours and go from there. Hope this helps, Hubert
  13. Hi Gdtrfb, Very glad to hear you are enjoying the game... spread the word Hubert
  14. Having the capital move to Canada is an option as we have added the necessary scripts but one criticism is that by doing so it is very unlikely for the Axis to ever force the surrender of the UK and one of the reasons why we left Egypt as the default.
  15. Armuss, Aesopo is correct that there is already a conversion by Sami available at CMMODS and on our end we continue to officially work on the Global campaign which has now moved to the PDE engine as it offers many more options via DECISION events and Global Variables. There is much more in store and I can honestly say I think you guys will be pleasantly surprised when it is all said and done Hope this helps, Hubert
  16. Armuss, these were just suggestions that I made the final decision on where Dave and Gunnar received credit for the idea. Generally though France was reduced to accommodate the Blitzkrieg and Spain and Sweden reduced IIRC for when they join the Axis they are not too powerful as the Axis is already generally strong enough without these free units.
  17. Just wanted to follow up here that with the new Patton Drives East Expansion there will be an additional bonus alternate history WWII campaign that allows you to start in early 1939 with Poland, France and the UK still neutral. More info can be found here: http://www.battlefront-store.com:8080/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=431&Itemid=214
  18. Frost, rjh1971, Glad to hear you are looking forward to this new expansion. We've really put a lot of work into this one and with some of the new mechanisms, like the DECISION events, players can expect a much more dynamic game with player driven outcomes and choices. In fact we've just posted two new Blog entries highlighting a few of the campaigns, how decisions play a critical role and generally what to expect from this new offering. More info can be found at the following link: http://www.battlefront-store.com:8080//index.php?option=com_myblog&Itemid=213
  19. Step in the right direction... hopefully it is playable enough for you and again sorry to hear about all the trouble. Hubert
  20. Hi Amadeus, If an updated driver from ATI hasn't resolved the issue for you I would also suggest contacting them directly to explain the issue. May not help but if enough attention comes their way they may correct their drivers for the game. Hubert
  21. Youri, Initial conditions are the same for the player and the AI, rather the AI receives a few bonuses during the course of the game. Either way, and as mentioned, these bonuses can easily be disabled to your preference before you start the game or even during the game if you've selected 'Allow Changes' in the OPTIONS dialog. Hope this helps, Hubert
  22. Hi Frost, Looks like I missed these posts but to quickly answer your questions there will be no atom bomb in the scenarios and for infantry sprites, yes these have been updated for a few countries and for the applicable campaigns, i.e. the US have more of a Khaki green pattern and the Soviet and Allied minors have been updated appropriately. For the 1948 campaign the end date is September 1st 1952. Hope this helps, Hubert
  23. This would be the easiest solution to implement while we continue to argue the details. </font>
