I'm not sure what you are refering to exactly. The French fought in Africa, Italy, France and Germany, only the 2nd Armored Free French Division was involved in the Normandy battle.Originally posted by Sgtgoody:In France, the Army was in disgrace after their no show in '40. About the only thing they had to show their commitment to the struggle against Naziism was the resistance. The result was that the only way to make any claim to being part of the fight was to claim to be part of the resistance.Every year the museums in France bump up the contributions made by the resistance (which were very small until D-day) and within the next decade the story of the Normandy invasions will be one of a small force of Allied forces (mostly Free French) supplying support and weapons to hundreds of thousands of resistance fighters who then expelled the Germans.

I noticed at least 2 scenarios , Fall Blau and Pride of the Luftwaffe (probably others too), are not available and reviewable on the Scenario Depot website.
Is there a specific reason for that ? Just curious..

Good.
Thank you Viceroy.

Does my FO need to have LOS on the objective at turn 1 to get its pre-planned strike on-target ?
The manual is not very explicit, and i want to be sure before to order the barrage.
Thanks in advance.

Paulus,Originally posted by Von Paulus:Why you American people only think of your army ?
1) US troops are not present in CMBB.
2) Free french were in CMBO
2) When will the French be able to create a napoleonic game of the same quality as CM ?

Very entertaining AAR. Good work !

I think this is too complicated task for the AI. Like crossing rivers with assault boats. Play humans

The difference beetween Close Combat and Combat Mission is the same as the difference beetween porn and real sex.

Thanks Martin,
I think i understand and I will try to put it into practice. It's a refreshing change from the flags anyway.

The manual states the victory level is determined by how fast the attacker reaches the last map end. And also that the battle will finish when he arrives to the map end.
Does it mean he has to reach it with one unit only, or all of them, or the majority, or what ?
In the op i'm currently playing (The Wrong Turn), the briefing is very sparse about the victory conditions...like the manual.
Thanks for any tip.

Shocked vehicules represent a crew member wounded, or killed. But AFAIK they are not recorded as casualties in the AAR or in the info screen of the ennemy unit who caused the casualty.
Is that a engine limitation ?
Do the crew have to bail out to be recorded as casualties ?

I have to check that again, but AFAIR it was the third shot that was on target for both BT7s.
At such distance, do the crew have a clear vision where the shells land ? Is the impact visible ?
For those reasons i found the kills extraordinary too. And the target was small, only a armored car !

I'm also playing Fall Blau in PBEM as the Russian.
I think the map is really one of the finest exeample of what can be done in CM with imagination and creativity. It is really amazing.
The map is huge but very playable because number of units is not too large, and moves are rather long ones. Typically only a few minutes plotting is necessary each turn.
The force composition is really original and the challenge is a good change for the usual frontal CM battle. Here, planning and execution of the plan are critical. Speed and stealth are your best tools.
I'll also review when i've finished it, but i'm glad to say it is a enjoyable game so far.
