  1. I would like to congratulate you on a must splendid purchase If I had the money I would get them also. I don't now about the 88 IRL but in a later episode they get hit again with what they claim to be 88's
  2. This might be like beating a dead horse but I will tell you how I move my soldiers in CMBB: To get them to action I use MOVE. When MOVING they think that all is safe and will hate me if they get shot at (showing their hate by panicking and routing). When I anticipate action I will use ADVANCE. This makes my soldiers very tired so I usually let them rest when their status shows "tiring". If I don't let them rest they will get exhausted. Advancing with pausing takes a lot of time but as my combat instructor told me "We should not run the enemy to death, we should shoot him to death"
  3. It could be the front of a tank barrel. It has a cone shaped surface to simulate the inside of the barrel
  4. I haven't any experience with this but if bullets are flying over my head i might have difficulties getting up and run away. I might just stay put, hug the ground and **** my pants
  5. Have you moved through a pine forest in full battle gear AND also knowing that you could get shot any second. I don't think that there are many people on this forum that have the (combat) experience to compare him or her self against CM. And why shouldn’t they be packed with full gear? When I play CMBB I use move command to move troops when I think it is safe and advance when I think it's not. The move command doesn’t exhaust the units (except in snow I think) but advance does (due to bounding movements I assume) Read what Bullethead says here. Yes, that is what suppressed is and again what do you base the "too" part on? I think they have. If you use more experienced troops they probably don't suppress as easily (most likely because they remember the Ei saa... saying ) BTS have stated that they haven’t made a "fun to play" game but a realistic one and hoped that someone would like to play it. I understand that you are entitled to your opinion but I hope that you would give the game a fair chance because it is a good game (IMHO better than CMBO) and deserves it.
  6. We just got a new minister of defense who before this was the general secretary of the church of Sweden and famous for cutbacks so I guess that a lot of new equipment will be redundant... If you want a cheap uniform I would recommend discarded ones from the military supply. I could check it out if you are interested. The S tanks probably have served their time. The front could still hold up against modern guns (especially with the top-secret grate mounted) but the 105mm gun was inadequate. And as we all now from CMBB a turret-less tank is "easily" outflanked by a fast opponent.
  7. Yes but the Swedish army is sevearly neglected in his collection! We changed to a cammo pattern around 1990 and haven't used wool in a long time. But i assume that it costly to import new uniforms (he could increase the price of the game )
  8. I would like to have some more examples please... (aka bump)
  9. I was wondering about how much time it takes to play a TCP/IP game of CMBB in general. I would like to be able to estimate how long a game might take and since don't play enough my self so i hope that you all could contribute to my project by giving me some data. I assume that time depends on map size, point’s number and turn length and that it varies between players. The following format might be appropriate: Game time (rounded to the nearest 30 min) Number of turns Map size Points I promise to make a nice diagram from the data
  10. Got this from http://www.aarp.org/computers-howto/Articles/a2002-07-16-flatpanel
  11. In the opening movie for cc1 or 2 there is fotage from bombs being dropped over a field and the shockwaves is clearly visible (and way cool)
  12. I found that many of the strange graphical things that I observe in CMBB are due to the scaling of units. If you change to realistic scale things look much more real (tanks doesn’t bunch up, perspective changes correctly). The fact that trees are 2D surfaces that always faces the player might look strange but think about how many triangles you need to create a tree with branches and all. I don't think that the games graphics are limited by the game developers but by the current graphics cards. xerxes: Could you name the other games? I haven found any that looks better.
  13. I think it has to do with supply and demand. If you (for example) the next time you go into the computer store finds the swahili version of CM:BB in a box that smells real bad, won’t you buy it, and recommend it to all your friends??? And if the English version doesn’t come out until 2302 (18 sept) you and all your friends will say that it is tradition to play the smelly swahili version...
