  1. Sorry to hear that you aren't able to play Not sure if you just didn't scroll down far enough when ordering, but they do have system specs on the page. CMSF Order page w/ specs
  2. Let me just say that I am so terribly glad I've stuck with my version NVidia 94.24 drivers. I'm playing at 1280x1024 with 2xAA/AF or 4xAA/AF (depends on the size of the map) at max texture quality with a 7950GT. I haven't really had any zebraing problems either. The shadows can look a little odd, with some hatch marks at the upper edge, but that's it. If you want to try the 94.24 version, I still have it and can put it up for you. I haven't any clue whether it would be better, worse or even work for whatever card(s) you have.
  3. Glad you finally found something to fix your problems Jaguar
  4. Someone else had a problem where it wasn't honoring the resolution setting, dunno which thread, but the suggestion (that worked) was to delete the CMSF preferences file. Might want to give that a try.
  5. Ok Rune, I'm sending you the test scenario I've been using and 3 save games. In the save games, there are two holes blown - one by an MGS and the other by a demo charge. Squads will not go in through either.
  6. It's actually a combination - the setting has to be On in CM and then you have to specify what settings you want in the driver. Completely counter intuitive, but at least now the settings and results make sense.
  7. Ok, verified, the change was only 2 FPS on Allah's Fist so I can stick with my "entirely playable with 4xAA/AF"
  8. Ooooh, ok, figured out the settings for the AA/AF. Ok, so the On/Off in-game determines whether CMSF uses the AA/AF settings that you've set in your control panel. If it's Off, then there won't be any AA/AF. If it's on, then it uses what your control panel has set. Definitely not well explained and counter-intuitive given how every other game out there works Maybe it's an OpenGL vs DX thing. I'll recheck my FPS now.
  9. Only one of those CPUs is actually being used to play the game, but otherwise it's fine. In fact, my machine (C2D @ 2.13 Ghz, 7950 GT w/ 512) runs just fine with 4xAA, 4xAF and Improved or better Quality setting.
  10. I had the same trouble initially. I actually created a test scenario just to figure out how to get Blast to work. One thing I ran into was, if they only had one demo charge left, they wouldn't use it against a longer wall. Out of curiosity, will your squads go through a hole that your MGS creates? I created a test scenario to try these things out, and so far I've been able to put holes in walls with Blast and the MGS, but my squads won't use them.
  11. One thing I just discovered - definitely use the Nvidia control panel to set the AA/AS settings. Turning "Antialias/Multisample" on in SF was definitely a big performance hit compared to using 4x AA and 4x AS from the Nvidia panel.
  12. Yeah, it's not explained at all but if you click right below the wall, where it meets the ground, you'll get the movement point to be "in" the wall and that should trigger their blasting. It's definitely not the best way to do that. Personally I like this idea: you place your troops or the 2nd to last waypoint in front of the wall you want to blast, then the blast movement command inside the building. The movement line then indicates which wall will be blown. Plus, that would work easily on interior walls, too. Of course, that all assumes that your troops will use that hole - mine refuse to do so.
  13. I tend not to update driver versions without a reason. So far, it seems like it might be a good thing that I haven't
  14. With FRAPS running, 19-20 looking diagonally across the map from the US start point with all tanks in view. With FRAPS off, it felt faster - probably ~25 FPS. Quality setting was Improved, though toggling that up to Best only dropped 3 FPS. [Edit] that was at view 3 I think. Moving across the map (thus less showing) steadily increased the FPS up to about 49.
  15. If you're still looking for a tester w/ no problems to compare against, here are my specs: C2D @ 2.13 Ghz 7950 GT 512 MB WinXP SP2 Asus P5B-Deluxe motherboard I've got 4xAA and 4xAF on, and textures set to max. The detail settings in game are always at either Improved or better. [Edit] Forgot to add, let me know what you want me to test. Driver version 94.24 I think (so says the About button)
  16. Ok, so I figured out how to blow a hole in the wall. First, that really needs to be explained in the manual and probably shown with a picture. Second, my troops will not actually use the hole that they opened, they walk around to the nearest door. Hell, when I blew the wall that had the door, they still entered through where the door was before the wall was removed.
  17. Whenever I clicked it just put it straight inside the building. I'll try some more thou, thanks for confirming that it should work and that you click on the wall.
  18. Ok, I know what it's supposed to do, but whenever I try to use it (testing) my squad simply goes in/out through the door (converts it into a quick order, it appears). Also, can they not go through holes that an MGS blows open? For me, they completely ignored it and went through a door under stupid amounts of fire. 19. Not my theory - keeps coming up in the other performance threads.

  21. Wish I could get a screenshot that conveys the problem, but a picture really wouldn't tell the story. I do think I've got a save game where the bug is occurring those, if needed. I had a squad turn into half a squad extremely quickly, so immediately stopped them from what they were doing and had them load back onto their ICV. This went mostly ok, though they started to load and just stood there so I canceled and re-issued. After they were loaded, I used the ICV to transport them closer to their destination. All was fine until I tried to get them out. No combination of orders would get them back out of the ICV. The squad's Dismount order was disabled and clicking Dismount on the ICV would play the "rear door closing" animation. Trying to use movement orders on the troops inside didn't do anything other than play some form of walk animations for the squad.
  22. Have you read the other threads? Try getting rid of FRAPS, it's apparently causing huge slow downs.

  24. I dunno, guess you got lucky with your first fight. Or just a better tactician I'm trying to figure out how not to get slaughtered in MOUT, especially when entering from no cover.
