  1. Leave it to a Canuckian reservist male medical desk jockey to make everything so complicated. Seanachai, have you stopped taking your meds again? Or did you take them all at once this time? Not that I am opposed to this idea, but really -- acting as though we care what those weirdos on that other thread do or say? Sigh. The Inquisitor General's work is never finished. And I had just dealt with Boo's dalliances. . . Steve </font>
  2. Well, if the Goodalers are doing it, certainly the Peng Challenge Thread would try to get some of our lads to participate, as we are not letting those swine steal a march on us. </font>
  3. Once a month is too infrequent - 12 scenarios a year? Once a week perhaps too often - so perhaps once a fortnight? That would give enough time for people to play out their games on TCP/IP without being too rushed and you might even get some PBEM's done in that time. The trouble is, I suppose, that if people are playing PBEM then games can take longer to finish. If, for example, you played MasterGoodale then you might be looking at a 'once every 9 months' scenario thread.
  4. I refuse to listen to a Yank about class. Which famous American was it that said there was no class in America? Class is something for British people. Americans are all equal. Therefore, Teddy Windsor and I are upper-class maggots, and you are all proles. Get me my dinner.
  5. Is that possible? Why don't you try it first? If it works, I'll attend your funeral. If not, I'll settle for burying your troops in the hot sands of Africa. </font>
  6. So we should be poking and prodding BFC about this minor oversight then?
  7. Why don't you compromise and strangle yourself. It'd save us having to listen to your girly whining.
  8. Ditto to the bravery of the average Italian soldier - I'm rereading "An Army at Dawn" and the stuff those poor buggers had to contend with was shocking. Their standard infantry rifle dated from 1891, no trucks, no AT weapons, few MGs, tanks made from tinfoil and cheese wedges.....
  9. Do you mean a K6/2? I thought they never went about 550Mhz. If you mean an ordinary Athlon - mine's an 850 with a bit more RAM and a newer graphics card but I'm still playing 20,000 point games.
  10. I haven't seen them in action yet but this may be the compromise BFC was forced to come up with to get multi-turreted tanks in the game You only get one red line but if, for example, you're using an ordinary Sherman and you tell it to target a tank 300m away and off to your right, if the Sherman's 'hull down' to the tank then the bow MG will fire on targets in front of you. Have you tried getting an M3 into one of those situations to see if this is the case?
  11. Plus, you get a proper manual and no scabby DVD case or scabby CDV copy protection software. Take your pick.
  12. SCENARIO SPOILER . . . . . . . . . . I was surprised that in one battle, two of my Shermans stuffed 75mmAP rounds into a StuH from just over 100m, only to achieve a 'partial penetration'. In the old days of CM:BB and CM:BO that sort of ranged attack would be enough to put a round in the front and out the back.
  13. What exactly would you be aspiring to? The ability to take 9 months to finish a PBEM, the ability to take 4 weeks to send the final (losing) turn, or the ability to have your house consumed by rodents and insects?
  14. Blatant self-promotion for my scenario "Chalon-sur-Rhone", available at The Scenario Depot 68 turns and something like 15,000 points and it's pretty well balanced for both sides. [ November 20, 2003, 04:17 PM: Message edited by: Soddball ]
  15. Wrong forum, Granddad. We've moved to where the weather is better and the new toys are.
  16. Let's hope that doesn't happen to you with CMAK. That would be a shame. </font>
  17. Newsflash for Nofriends Dave H: It is possible to have friends who are outside the interweb
  18. Pish-Tosh! 325 minutes is less than...carry the four....add the 3.... 5.42 HOURS!!!!!   </font>
  19. My questions are - does cover alter in a vineyard dependent on the time of year and does the graphic alter aswell?
  20. I have just accidentally emailed 325 copies of the CM:AK Demo to you. I predict the total meltdown of the Eastern Interweb in about 324 minutes.  Is anyone else dancing for a thunderstorm just to frag dear old Boggsy's download?
  21. One way to find out!!! Include a set-up if you like!!!!! Bless all that is British </font>
  22. That's news to me. My friend's PC and mine are vastly different speeds and it seems to alternate between the two of us on processing.
