  1. My "Encyclopedia of German Tanks of WW2" says (and I paraphrase): First Panther: Panther D - 850 built Jan-Sep 43. Hull MG mounted in a 'flap port' rather than a ball mount. Second Panther: Panther A - 2,000 built Aug 43-May 44. Fixed problems with Panther D (including running gear, drive train, exhaust cooling). Replaced flap port MG with a ball mount MG . Pistol ports and ammo-loading hatch on turret deleted. Third Panther: Panther G - 3,126 built Mar 44-April 45. Better side armour (50mm/30deg instead of 40mm/40deg) and driver's vision plate removed from front plate, replaced with a periscope. A number of minor changes to improve reliability. From September 44, turrets shipped with a new gun mantlet which eliminated the shot trap. Is this roughly what you were after? (Edit: Stikkypixie must die. )
  2. Well Let me see, hmmm, I played Suddenstrike Series, Blitzkriegs, Soldiers: Hereos of World War 2, Faces of War, Rome Total War, Medieval Total War. Red Orchestra, Call of Duty 1 & 2, Silent Hunter 3 & 4. So I played lots mate... To be honest with you, I am in the armed forces and so I do the War thing for real. Im just looking to have some fun, and enjoy myself not looking to criticise.</font>
  3. Far more common were plain-old 20mm FlaK, or the quad 20mm, or even the 37mm FlaK. If you want AA fire, then use those. But what you're after is not AA fire, it's 'cool tanks'. In terms of the amount of time spent coding versus the need for other aspects of the game to be dealt with, they aren't worth it. Then try playing a proper war game. Playing ToW with Sturmtigers are Wirblewinds isn't likely to give you much generalship experience, if that's really what you crave.
  4. Common? COMMON??? 86 were made between July and November 1944. That's all. Any other super-rare units you want to include? How about the VK3001? After all, there were three of them. It'd be a shame not to include them. Let's leave out on-board mortars, which everyone knows hardly made an impact in a battle, and cram in another 20 super-rare ultra-wierd tanks just to give the ubertankwhores their fix.
  5. Good waffles though, and good beer. And the Imperial War Museum thing in Brussels is awesome. Sooo many goodies.
  6. The Total War series is a series of wargames about as much as Belgium is a major world player... </font>
  7. Don't show her how to use a mouse, or it'll be yet more humiliation for you on the battlefield.
  8. Sad, isn't it? I'm not going to offer any more advice to Squatdog. I've devoted a considerable amount of time getting his crappy, low-res video to work and then a further chunk of time explaining his wrongness to him twice. It just goes to show that some people will not be helped. On the bright side though, 50,000 CM players feel the morale model is probably not the RETARDED thing around here.
  9. What the heck do you want baby pictures for? In the hope that Baby Axe has more hair than Daddy Axe?
  10. Whatever, Squatdog. I've shown that you were wrong. If you are convinced of your own ultimate superiority, then so be it. I've played thousands of games and written a couple of dozen scenarios. What would I know. The morale model will continue to be 'retarded' - at least until you get off that horse.
  11. You need to download Fraps. It installs a codec that runs in Windows Mediocre Player.
  12. I just looked at Squatdog's video. Squatdog, you made a right hash of it. Problems I saw: 1) Your infantry was running across open ground and was 'alerted'. 2) Your infantry was out of command radius for its platoon HQ - black line, not red, joining it to platoon HQ. 3) Your infantry ran across the firing path of one of your own HMGs which put them into 'panic' and forced them to the ground. 4) Your infantry was then blasted by canister rounds, either from your tanks or from the enemy, video is too poor to tell which, which broke them and forced them to rout. The morale model is not retarded. If this is typical of the problems that you have been having then I can confirm that it is your play technique that is at fault. Tips: Infantry squads like to be in command radius of their HQ unit. If they are not, they rout. Quickly. Infantry do not like having canister fired at them. Infantry do not like 200m sprints across open terrain. Infantry do not like being hosed down by HMG fire from their own side. You should: Use your HMGs to suppress enemy guns. Try to avoid using them to suppress your own infantry. Keep your platoon HQs with your infantry squads. Keep the Company HQ back but close enough to mop up retreating squads. Use short charges across open ground. If the ground is too open to charge across, stay put.
  13. but not during battle! but not during battle! How much clearer does it have to be? If you want ammo reloads for tanks, BF1942 is only $10.
  14. From "British and American Tanks of World War II" By Chamberlain and Ellis: M10 used M4A2 chassis. M10A1 used M4A3 chassis. Both M10 and M10A1 used 3" gun. The majority (4,993) were M10. The remainder (approx 1,400) were M10A1. Around 300 more M10A1 were converted to M36.
  15. No it isn't. The Achilles had a 17pdr gun, much longer, with a muzzle brake. The photo is of the standard M10.
  16. I thought you had the trailer option, or does that bit over the trailer clip on?
  17. Having watched the videos, I think the ideal use of the CM engine is in a future-based environment - space marines clearing hulks of aliens or some such.
  18. The majority of gamers still don't play online games.
