  1. Italian wine is honk. Give me a good new world or French wine. As for the choice of victim, I wish to pick Emrys. He hasn't done anything wrong, but Dorosh and Beman have both been subjected to thrashings of the most vulgar kind in PBEM against me. They have had their punishment, Emrys has not. Had I also played Emrys, I would have voted that the lawnmowing ducks be put to death.
  2. *bump* - still looking for webspace. I have photos of: Jackson Hellcat Chaffee Shermans Hetzer Panzer IV Tiger converted from T34 T34 20mm Flak 40mm Bofors Jeeps Allied and German halftracks Anyone?
  3. Updated - lots of pictures. Click Gyrene's link or go to page 2 for a taster! [ July 22, 2002, 06:14 PM: Message edited by: Soddball ]
  4. I've put together a scenario involving a British para raid on a German dam. I have yet to write the briefings but are there any volunteers to playtest? It's playable (just) as Brits vs the AI, but would be better PBEM.
  5. Shall I pick your teddy up and put it back in the pram? Sheesh. Sense of humour failure.
  6. But Scipio! What happens if it's got Waffen Grenadiere in it? I hope you'll delete the download.
  7. No, Jason, I didn't think that it was only range. I just felt that 700m was too short a range to display the major advantages of the Panther, that is the armour which the 75mm Sherman can't penetrate, and the gun with its superior precision. The same applies to the Tiger, and Alastair Anderson is raising what appears to be the ineffectiveness of the much-vaunted german armour. Until you start duelling at long ranges, it looks as though there's a problem. You're not wrong to demonstrate allied doctrine or to explain its value, but it wasn't the point I was agreeing with or the one that Alastair raised.
  8. I should be able to make it - and rest assured that I shall supply beer and food in vast quantities
  9. I agree Jason. Playing at 700m is too close to get the real benefits of a Panther. Try doubling it, and you'll see a change. The Shermans will pop smoke and hide, unable to penetrate the Panther's armour. The Panthers will tear the Shermans apart.
  10. Scipio, you're a gem Steve - I'm yer daddy. Look, a real life apology out of a born whinger. That's got to be worth the pick of my vehicles in CM:BB. Shame I know jack-all about the eastern front. Can I pick the 1.1 litre Yugo with optional windows?
  11. Thanks. One of my finest, I think - although not my favourite. No, that's the scrotum thread.
  12. I assume that's as close to you'll get to a "sorry, I'm wrong, I'll shut up now" from Scipio.
  13. I think I speak on behalf of the overwhelming majority when I say: SCIPIO! SHUT THE F*** UP! YOU'RE BEING SMALL-MINDED! Thankyou. Thankyou.
  14. Herr General Mister Bill said: Oh smeg. Somebody have him put down.
  15. I had your mum, too, Douggie baby. Not just Desdichado's. So watch it.
  16. What's CMBB? Madmatt's on form tonight, so better post this before his padlock of doom descends
  17. YOU MIGHT WANT TO INVEST IN A NEW KEYBOARD IN THE MEANTIME. YOUR CAPS LOCK KEY APPEARS TO BE BROKEN.
  18. Thanks for clearing that up for the European purchasers. Are we in Europe still OK to buy online from the US if we choose to? I like that 'old time' interweb-type feeling I get when shopping online. By the way, Steve - and I know you're a busy man working your bollocks off - for 90% of us Yewropeens those little changes don't matter. We really appreciate the hard work that is put in, and we don't think you're selling out. Your choice of supplier doesn't matter. What matters is that you buggers are producing the finest wargames known to man or beast, and that I'm able to spend my money on such a worthwhile product. In the last fifteen months, I have bought TWO computer games. One of them was Civilisation III, and that lasted a month. This is the finest game I've played since Elite for the Acorn Electron - twenty years ago. I have never, ever played a game as much as this one, apart from Elite. You are valued, you have a great product, and most of us are bright enough to realise it. We look forward to the game - when it's ready!
  19. My first scenario, kindly tested by Blackhorse and Wesreidau, is now available at the Scenario Depot. It's non-historical, an allied assault against a german-held town. Download and enjoy.
  20. Oh dear. Another beardy wierdy bitter drinker. I thought I'd left you all back at university arguing over whether truth is beauty and why that piece of saxon pottery was out of context?
  21. Simon Elwen will also be materialising, apparently - although only if he can cadge a lift, which officially makes him my bitch. He'll also be taking off his shoes to get in my car for both journeys Come on, which of you other buggers are going?
  22. Well, I've only just started doing scenarios, and have released one, with two more on the way. However, mine aren't historically based, so I wondered whether I could convert the maps from CMBO to CMBB, and leave the units behind. My maps are a work of art, really.
  23. My copy came of CMBO came from the website - so wasn't affected by SafeDisk. However, I had a tiresome "Cannot find CD" problem with 2 different CD-Rom drives.
