  1. With all these CMBB preview threads and reports, the one common denominator (aside from the coolness of CMBB) is the undisclosed game feature(s) that nobody is allowed to talk about. Some hints have been dropped that it isn't full game movie replay, and that it doesn't directly affect game play. So, what is it? WHAT IS BFC HIDING?!? My own unorganized thoughts, in no particular order (hey, I said they were unorganized!): Spreadsheets/databases of unit info Full-motion video of Madmatt as a German tanker Special introduction by Stephen Ambrose Unit citations/awards based on scenario performance Full-motion video of Madmatt as a Soviet general A "behind the scenes" video montage of "the making of CMBB" to the tune of "Oops, I did it again" Those cool penetration charts that everyone loves Full-motion video of Madmatt as a ski-equipped Sissi Special occasion building textures (Reichstag, Tractor Works, etc.) A cameo of John Cleese dressed as Sir Lancelot Full-motion video of Mace and... never mind. So, how about it? What do YOU think it is that people aren't allowed to talk about?
  2. Gentlemen: Real life has reared its head. It is with great sadness and a large apology that I must withdraw from the tourney. I wish all my opponents good hunting, and that a replacement be found easily and quickly. Greg
  3. Tempting, but no. Eight or nine hours from Chico is just too much. If anyone can arrange for a preview in the Bay Area (3 hours travel time), then it falls into the realm of possibility.
  4. I'm back from my vacation and processing turns. Heavy Drop is currently on vacation, so my game with him is on hold, but I haven't heard from GeneralSV in quite some time (over a week). GeneralSV, if you're out there, send me an e-mail -- or better yet, a turn.
  5. Erm. Have you not been reading this forum for the past month or so? That's a Sweet looking PzIIIM. With forward 3D smoke dischargers no less! But (yes - you knew it was coming ) the track cuts through the front sprocket a bit much. - Chris</font>
  6. We dine well here in Camelot, We eat ham and jam and spam-a-lot... Dum dum dum dum dum dum dum, dum dum dum, dum dum dum, Dum dum dum dum dum dum dum, dum di dum dum dum...
  7. All turns have been sent out, waiting for replies... My games with Heavy Drop and Jeb are the furthest along at this point, maybe 1/3 of the way through.
  8. I suspect we'll see a new turret rotation speed - "glacial". The TacAI will probably end up turning the tank chassis instead of using just turret rotation, resulting in a combination of turret/chassis movement somewhere between what a Tiger and a StuG does now.
  9. Is the maximum/minimum engagement range user-selectable?</font>
  10. Major action on all fronts. I think I just set a personal best for a weekday - 12 turns processed! Oy!
  11. And, needless to say, larger modules work even better. My current champion is a 105 FO who, with a single round, took out three (!) Hellcats. The round hit right at the edge of some trees, got a treeburst, and killed all three of the TDs nearby. Yes, this was against a live opponent. It was even in a tourney.
  12. Call off the hounds... GeneralSV has sent me a file! All five games are officially now off and running.
  13. Wait until you experience the "joy" of a Priest or Hummel knocking itself out in a larger manifestation of the same "hit the ground right in front of me" phenomenon...
  14. Treeburst, I've just received a setup and returned same from Easy-V. Still no joy on GeneralSV, though. The other three games are all progressing nicely, except for my X that just got bushwhacked by Y.
  15. Processed a few turns with both Jeb and Heavy Drop. Haven't heard from cuzn for a couple of days, and I have yet to receive a file from either Easy-V or GeneralSV.
  16. Just a quick status report while waiting for turns from everybody... Jeb told me he was going to be gone today, so he has an excuse. We're into turn 3 or 4 in our game. Cuzn and I have started our game; I'm waiting for him to send me the next turn. Easy V has offered a restart, and I've accepted, but he has has yet to send me his setup file. Heavy Drop has also agreed to a restart, and I've sent him the setup file. I've also sent a setup file out to GeneralSV, but haven't heard a single word from him yet. GeneralSV, let me know if you want to do TCP/IP on ours. It looks like the scenario is of a very reasonable size, unlike some other ones [*cough* fire on the mountain *cough*]
  17. Two scenarios are underway, I've sent out setups for two more, and I'm waiting for the last setup (I play Allies in that one). CHARGE!!!
  18. Regarding swept-back wings, I seem to recall reading that the Me262's wings were originally swept back due to center-of-gravity issues - I want to say that the original design was a tail-dragger, but when it was changed to a tricycle landing gear the wings were swept back to ensure that the nose had more weight than the tail to facilitate the new landing gear configuration. Am I completely out to lunch?
  19. Returned two setups last night, and I must say that the map for Fire on the Mountain is... ummm.... unique. It'll certainly make for a different gaming experience.
  20. Sorry, Holien. You'll have to make do without me this time. Tourney III, Section 2 opponents, I look forward to meeting you on the field of battle.
