  1. For a reason only known to themselves, battlefront insist on supplying the 8 year old game manual with their downloads, which is not the latest version that includes instructions (basic as they are) on how to use PBEM++.  You will need to contact helpdesk to find the updated manual, which is hidden within their labrynthine files system. @BFCElvis

Sigh. I don't speak for Steve but I suspect he doesn't care much if some rando on the internet thinks he's not working and is bitching an moaning about it. I could be wrong. It's possible he'll pop in here right quick and show proof to you that he's still working. LOL Not :D

Apologies, I should have explained what I meant by 'prove'.

As the honcho I would have thought he would have the final word on game releases and updates.

You know the kind of thing - send it up to the boss for final approval before retail release.

And so Steve would be practising due diligence by looking at the releases and ensuring they are of merchantable quality, amongst other things.

And yet, we see in the latest  round of game updates eg CMBN, CMRT and CMFI:

    1. No mention of the requirements to have Microsoft Visual C++ 2015- 2022 Redistributable (x86) installed in Windows for the latest patches that include PBEM++ to even run.  Not even on the website (to my knowledge).

    2. No inclusion of the updated game manual that tells you how to actually play said PBEM++.  It's out there, somewhere,  but the one you receive with your updated game is dated 2015 and hence has no mention of the feature.

    3. Continued releasing of patches in the past that fail to address say, inf breaking cover and heading towards enemy, although patch notes state that its fixed.

It's small details like this (yes, they are small, but to my eye, important) that lead me to believe that people who represent the company are not paying close enough attention to the game itself.

So when I see said people spending their time on unrelated topics and rarely discussing the games themselves - and the above items (and more) are still not addressed - raises my eyebrow.

I'd like management to roll up their sleeves and prove that they are 100% behind their product, by ensuring their product is as good as it can be.  But that probably won't be read either.

From one rando to another 🙂

I am fairly certain @Battlefront.com can walk and chew gum at the same time :D

perhaps steve should prove it.  To me, it seems that Elvis has been running the show single handed for the last couple of years, at least.   Comments he made recently, such as this below, regarding changes to Tournament scoring (which seems relatively important to me) - indicate he is acting alone.  Thank goodness someone's steering the ship.

"Which means if you guys don't like what I decide the parameters are then we are open to hearing your opinions and can change it..........If we're sold on the need to change it.  I think that what I have in mind will seem fair."

  4. @BFCElvis Declan, you really should be advising people about installing VC Redist x86.  Particularly when they have a Win11 machine.

Mr Bean: no idea.  But the redist was usually pre-installed in Win10 (I think) so for most people the games just worked.  Not present in Win11 though.

    After all of that work

Well my dear boy, I did advise you about 3 weeks ago to try this 😉
