Is there no winter camo for allied 44 infantry
Shadow 1st Hussars replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)

quote:
Originally posted by Shatter50: I started a scenario with US 44 infantry, and their helmets are winter camo but that is all. The rest of their uniforms are normal. If their is a winter uniform mod for the 44 US infantry please let me know where. I have Dave O'blood & Maximus allied winter camo mod. [This message has been edited by Shatter50 (edited 12-27-2000).]

that's due to (i beleave) the shared sleeve file between '44 infantry and US tankers. you'd have tankers with white sleeves and khaki shirts -
Canadian Tanks in PB24
Shadow 1st Hussars replied to Shadow 1st Hussars's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)

quote:
Originally posted by gibsonm: Given that the Canadians had Churchills when they were creamed at Dieppe (good old Winston - sending dominion troops in instead of Tommies), I would have thought they would still have them in '44.

Don't even think about blaming Dieppe on the Canadians....I'll turn it right back around at the Brits -

New weathered shermans

quote:
Originally posted by Tiger: [b ps Madmatt awhile back told me that when you raise the dpi to 144 (i.e. double the normal dpi of the original bmps), you need to set it back to 72 dpi after you finish or the bmps won't look right on an apple. I've been doing this so maybe there's some quality being lost when doing that.

That may be why your battered panther A looks kind of choppy on my mac. -
Any word on when the M5 mod is coming out? It's not at CMHQ yet.

Can Arty damage tanks?
Shadow 1st Hussars replied to scooleen's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)

quote:
Originally posted by scooleen: Can Arty take out tanks, of the hevy variety, or even damage them. I havent had any luck using it against them. Do tank crews get sick inside those tanks while 105's are falling around them? Curious.

I had a single 300mm Rocket take out 5 Shermans. That'll teach you not to put all your armour in a close radius of each other. I can only imagine what 14" guns could do. I have yet to run into a scenario that uses them. -
I made a World War 1 operation once. Vimy Ridge. It worked pretty well. THe only problem was the trenches. they had sloped sides, and were wide enough for a column of tanks. But as soon as you make it to the German trenches it gets pretty fun.

Why have all Churchill tanks, excluding the Churchill croc, been removed from the Canadian Tank inventory?

Command delay - a modest proposal
Shadow 1st Hussars replied to Chupacabra's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)

quote:
Originally posted by Chupacabra: 4) I'd imagine this process would take anywhere from a minute to 10 or more minutes

Would you seriously want your troops to just sit under a tree drinking tea and waiting for orders while 300mm rockets fell on their positions for that long? If it took 10 minutes for 1 order to go through, a quick battle would be 1000 turns -
