and @Bil Hardenberger him self talks about Cold War at 1:42:21.
He does not look like his avatar
I think the resemblance is uncanny. And that's a good thing!

Ummm...I didn't realize the M-113 was amphibious. That is a nice feature.
Surprisingly little that rolling box couldn't do.

I would hope -- and from what Steve has said recently about sales, probably expect -- that Battle for Normandy would be first. But if we're talking a whole new engine, I'll be buying it whatever it is, guaranteed.
Agreed,...and agreed!

It has been around for quite some time.
Once upon a time, you had to make sure any pbem opponents that you didn't know well weren't buying crack Pz IV's and conscript KT's and switching the crews at the beginning of the battle, and so on.

Yep, I'm in the camp for FB, BS, and CW modules, then on to CMx3 also.

@Vergeltungswaffe: thanks
In the past, some really exciting projects unfortunately never came to an end (for example "Carrillon Nose" - a similar monster project, but also two of my own projects for CMBN) - so, I don`t wanna promise to much.
At the moment, working on three campaigns is a feeling like climbing the K2 winter summit but even this succeeded
You're very welcome and I can only imagine what working on 3 campaigns must be like.
But don't rush and enjoy the journey.

Funny. Here I was on the US side, thinking they were all-seeing and deadly more than two kilometers out. I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

Is the Assenois map available in the 'quick mission builder'?
I don't know off the top of my head, but you can use uncam to break down the campaign into separate scenarios.

So good I bought it twice. Also Between the Oder and the Elbe by Tieke, Wilehlm: New Hardcover (2006) 1st Edition | J.M. Brown (abebooks.com) Check out the small map section underneath. That is a supplemental map that is included. Its a 24"x36" color street map of Berlin on one side and a color battle map on the other. Beautiful and excellent book translated to English.

Hmmm.. I thought that was quite good actually. The few enemies present in the town meant that I couldn't let down my guard while advancing... I think missions are often overloaded with enemies "just because the player must not be bored". Maneuvering is a part of warfare too.
Totally agree with that.
I love recon and even if I don't find anything, I still enjoyed the experience of slowly working forward and hoping not to see the scouts get cut down.

... I haven't touched it in over a year and only because for the life of me I can't get roguetech to work (back then at least).
I plan on setting some time aside for it someday... start over, hopefully with roguetech working.
I fired up MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries a few weeks ago after taking a break from it as well.
Entertaining both are.
I've been playing off and on since development stopped. As soon as Hobbes finishes the campaign version of Hyades Rim, I'll look forward to playing through that. His career version was really well done with all the original flashpoints.
RT was okay, but I preferred to mod things the way I thought they should be.

Forest fighting against Soviet PPSh squads, the nightmare of every CM gamer. Can't wait to see how the MP44 equipped Sturmgrenadiere will do against them.
My experience thus far has been that in wooded defense, the MP44 troops will take some casualties due to the sheer output of PPSh troops, but overall they will slaughter the soviets. A nice turnaround from typical forest encounters in RT with any troops but Begleitgrenadiers.

I wouldn't want it to interfere with the normal development of CM, but I'd pay a lot, and I mean a lot, for CM:Battletech.

@Vergeltungswaffe. It's the best book on the battle of Berlin by one of the best authors on the late war period. An absolute must have for every Ostfronter.

Thanks for the glowing endorsements gentlemen, makes it an easy purchase.
Not sure why I never got around to that one, but I'll remedy it now.

As The_Capt just mentioned, a basic armor rule is that one AFV is a target, a platoon moving and shooting together like a fist, is a weapon.

The thing I don't like about the gamebar is that when you bring it up, there's crap all over your screen.
It is functional though.
