The problem is getting to be survivability at low altitudes since every Tom, Dick, and Achmed has a manpack these days.
The A-10 is a fantastic weapons system, but gun runs are seriously risky now. I suspect drones will become the weapon of choice for up close and personal CAS when standoff weapons don't fit the mission profile.

Very satisfying to lose 2 vehicles to 1 round? You must be a masochist
Totally.

Those are always very satisfying.

Those 251/21's are brutal.

The Opel Blitz holds 19 plus a driver.

Likely very specific. I have been playing RT/FR a lot and I haven't seen any evidence of the old behavior.
The first mission of the Cross of Iron campaign has so much Soviet artillery raining down for so long that I was shocked at the lack of chicken run action.

Yep, if you are playing a trusted opponent you can get there yourself using the scenario editor. Check out this post:
Exactly what I've done for years.
Would just be nice to have a quick, easy points drop down or the like.

Just about...

Agreed.
It would definitely be nice to have more choices, including being able to set a points number.

Continuing to make me drool with anticipation...

Maybe I should stop working on trucks and agricultural machinery for a while and do CM stuff again!
Capital idea!

I see MOS's wheels turning on his Alarmeinheiten partisans!

Since that's just the name of the 3 campaign pack, I doubt it will cause much confusion since nothing will appear with that name in their campaign list.

You're only going to get one first time through, so I would highly advise playing 79.
M48's are so much fun.

They might even have parrots pinin' for the fjords.

That should be good.
Rubble maps are a blast (pun intended).

I'm sorry, but every time I read Spritze or Spritzer, all I can see is something like this:

I'm actually kind of glad you guys did this, since the Uncam tool crashes when opening CMCW campaigns. Super unfortunate since I Uncam every campaign I have.
I wonder why, since it works for everything else but SF1 campaigns.

I loved scancade when it was the only tool we had, but since uncam came out, I've liked not having to put Java on my new computers.

But you knew what he needed and where it was, so...

Only had time to skim it so far, but that is cool, and by cool, I mean totally sweet.

CMSF vs CW and BS
in Combat Mission Shock Force 2

I'm sure this will generate some responses, but here's my .02.
SF2 is fantastic. Blufor definitely outclasses Redfor, but the challenge is often to win while taking no, or almost no casualties.
There's no APS here, so ATGM's are still scary. Now in BS anything in LOS is potentially dead as the lethality is max in that module, but the challenge in SF2 isn't far behind that.
One of the best things about SF2 is that there's a metric s*** ton of content. Scenarios, Campaigns, mods, and so on.
MOUT ops are so fun, stressful, and immersive and SF2 has them in spades.
Finally, as you said, the variety of equipment and nations is very appealing. Tooling around in British recon AFV's while trying not to die is great fun.
