GIMP will do fine unless you already have muscle memory built for Photoshop. Straight BMP export.

And now I dread re-installing all Combat Mission games (with all AddOns)...you have to find everything right on the website first........the latest Installer and the Licence-Numbers of everything....
The full installer (no patches or add-ons needed) is in your user account.

I don't mind the tank commanders that much.
What I really mind is how vulnerable to frontal fire gunners are that have a shield to the front - such as the SdKfZ 251/1 halftrack.

Again, being realistic and given that my current 3700x wont even reach 15%% utilization when running CM, its not really a matter of needing better hardware at the moment. It's an issue of the game engine needing some serious improvement to utilize the hardware people already have.
Your CPU reaches 100% - of one core.
Per-core speed is what matters for CM.

The 12th generation Intel chips (Alder Lake) have the best single core performance right now. In desktops minds you, laptops are a different matter.
That makes them the most suited for CM right now.

If Battlefront want to get busy with something related to Combat Mission, I'd rather have them busy with making a new game engine. When that one is done and ready to be used they could release a Barbarossa game with it.
Well, they should be working on engine v5 right now, which is adaptions for modern PCs.

How much are they charging per KW*hour?

I would like to get this confirmed because a large battle can take a couple hours to plan the first turn and it's nice to be able to come back and finish giving orders later.
Not to mention the risk of a power failure or game crash. Saving your work at reasonable intervals is kind of essential to computer work. -
I wonder what happened to my paper subscription. Didn't receive any issues for some time.

Still new to CM but getting more comfortable with the user interface. That said, there's a problem that I'm just not getting. Playing 2nd Battle of Chaumont as the US. German infantry has worked its way into the outskirts of Chaumont. So I have a platoon leader with a LOS to a group of German infantry (he is overall ok) and I bring up my deployed 60mm on-map mortars. They're all shown as deployed and available. I shift-click to select all of them only to discover that no matter which targeting option I request, I'm informed that that platoon leader spotter has NO LOS to the that group of German infantry! If I select just one available mortar I get the same result. What am I missing here??
If I understand your situation correctly you want to go through the indirect fire artillery dialog. Not the mortar unit's own menus. -
PBEM+ tends to have server problems. The server was restarted Monday, try again.

It should still run fine if you use engine 4.0.

Your video doesn't show up.

Never bother with old install files. Always download the all-inclusive installer from you user account.

The save system is broken, its not in any way related to game mode or even what CM you own. Ive seen people report the same thing with SF2 for example.
Yeah, but not everybody."Somebody" needs to define a standard test and then collect user data to find out when it fails for who.

I thought I had seen subsystem damage in CMBS, and I was able to recreate. It does seem like there should be more, but it happens. Video attached.
That's a direct hit.
The problem is that nearby hits never damage except tracks.

Oh, I remember that issue. You probably want to search for gimp in this forum's history, we dealt with it before. I don't remember details.
