Those phone calls home by captured Russian soldiers are now starting to have an effect. BBC reporters got to a Russian village and interviewed relatives. The whole village now knows what is going on. If I can find the report on line I will post a link

Each Russian soldier has at least 6 family members on average and maybe many more that will be influenced by that contact. Really smart move. Public pressure inside Russia will help...

Have you ever heard of the "phrase out of the frying pan into the fire"? I think that succinctly describes the Polish being "saved" by the Soviets. It might be a good analogy for Ukraine but history will judge that.

Easy to keep them in the dark... Let's hope these reports are true and that Ukraine treats any prisoners well as they will return to Russia and you want them to know the truth.

Russia invading Ukraine doesn't improve the lives of the Ukrainian people. Russia has forced this upon the Ukrainians and there is now no good outcome. Russia could end this today by withdrawing. The best we can hope for is that the Ukrainian resistance is not in vain and forces Russia to withdraw. The Ukrainians must do what they feel is best for them.

Yep but that was before the invasion and I am pretty certain when we told all British to leave Ukraine they left. Of course there might be some folk on vacation that are seeing the historic sights...

IMO no we already supplied Javelins and other weapons so that boat has already sailed. NATO has been very clear and open with the Russian Cabal no boots on the ground but supply of weapons will happen especially if Russia crossed the border.
