1. JK we are fighting the one that I fought with you.

Yes it is easier with hindsight and that is what we are testing the replayability of Ranville.

I am G and he is A. He played A in his version of it.

So far he has taken out my 3 X and 1 X. I have done some limited damge to his men and I have XX and XX arrived, but not XX, yet.

We are about halfway through as we got in quite a few turns yesterday as I was trying to write the AAR's and KF kept disturbing me.

Maybe some more turns today as I try and write my Christmas cards.

  2. Saturday morning here and it is all over bar the AAR's.

George has sent me the last turn and blood is every where.

Thank you to CDIC, JK, KF, Tom, George, Von Lucke and Peter. I have enjoyed your company and banter over the last few months and I hope the New Year brings cheer to us all.

They were hard fought battles and I am pleased with the way my men performed even when I lost, VL I will be avenged on you some time in the New Year if you will give me the pleasure.

TB & WBW AAR's should be out soon...

Fisher man in our replay of the JK debacle has found wire cutters and has slipped through the net and is now inside my protected zone and killing my poor defenceless boys.

It will be interesting to see how well he does on the replay as we are both playing the same side as we did 1st time. This will be a good test to see what the replay value of this much-talked about (or should I say moaned about) scenario.

Anyway must start task of writing AAR's.

    Cheers

    H

If available (each is curently battling the other),

both Kingfish and Holien are quite capable of making you wish you hadn't mouthed off so soon. Both are fierce on defense. I'm equally certain that CDIC could ruin your day, too, though I haven't directly encountered him on defense. I'm pretty nasty myself on defense, but am scrambling to cover multiple tourney commitments right now.

    Regards,

    Your so kind....

I think Tom and George would say I am a bit tasty on the attack as well.

    ;)

Anyway I am off line until January.

    smile.gif

4 week holiday here I come... (Flights willing ;) )

  4. JK the nuke was aimed at me and I got it. Tom is very unhappy with me (through the limited medium of e-mail that is the way it appears). I have offered Beer and an Olive branch but to no avail. While I might have won the battle we played, I consider it a lost war when I upset someone.

    :(

The game with Tom has ended and the AAR will be on the way this weekend.

George has kept the flow up once he had taken off his Ski gloves. I have suggested several times for him to withdraw gracefully. He has not and I (being the evil person I am) continue to tighten the noose and try to force a full surrender. If all goes well (for me anyway, if not George) I will be sending this AAR this weekend as well.

All the battles have been truly impressive and the breadth of engagement types and challenges truly stretching. The replayability is being tested with KF on one of the battles and if I had more time I would now be replaying some of the other games.

I need to consider this battle by battle but I think the balance of the games might need only slight tweaks if any. This will truly become apparent if any results are wildly off the balance mark by a large percentage.

I got a mixed bag movie from Tom, said movie accompanied by a nuke of a declaration. I don't know quite what's going on or why, but I believe the game with him is about to end abruptly. Stay tuned!

    John Kettler

Please stop annoying Tom as I have one turn left to play with him and I want to get that done before it is too late.

George thanks for sending the turn I don't understand why you have been soooo bad? Unless it is because of what is happening to you?

Kingfish has just discovered what JK discovered and is starting to cause me pain in our re-match of the game that people keep talking about.

It is quite fun re-fighting it with fresh blood. (Well warm blood...)

Anyway I await anything from Tom and will send George and KF their turns tonight in 4 hours time.

    Tut Tut Tut,

Some people always have to bring the conversation down to their level.

Shall I bring my collection over to BritVille?

Will it get past those customs men or will I have to bring a crate of XXXX.

    H

P.s. KF says he won't make the same mistake twice. I hope I don't. KF turn to be sent tonight.

  7. Tom has done me proud this weekend and we are within two moves of finishing the game. I will keep quiet about the battle, as xxx is xxx about it.

As for George stop messing around with that Christmas tree, and leave the fairy alone. I wait patiently for the next turn.

With a fair wind and my opponents willing we should have these finished this week and the AAR's done before I slip out of the country.

The rematch with KingFish playing the same game JK was moaning about is underway and he has yet to see my XXX and I to see his XXX.

    Treeburst,

I can't stand the waiting anymore. Let me back into the tourney. I need a fix!!!!!

KF have you finished all the games?

If so then I suggest we play the one that JK was getting all heated on.

As we have both played it we could play it again and prove to JK that it can be won from his side?

Or we could play any of the others, baring the two I have yet to complete.

    H

  9. JK leave Tom alone as he needs to concentrate on our game.

He is a tad miffed at recent events and I hope he does not get more annoyed at what I sent him this morning.

    :(

Seriously Tom if you read this I do appreciate your words and hope that you can squeeze the last few turns through the door.

I don't know what you do or your time commitments elsewhere but whatever you can throw of your time my way I am very very grateful.

As for the game, it is only a game and bad stuff happens at times.

As for George have a good holiday (vacation) and I look forward to finishing you,

Opppss finishing off the game when you get back. Watch that rear VL as I think it has my name on it. ;)

Good hunting for the Crimbo Tree. I hope you have a fairy for it. smile.gif

    H

P.s. I am halfway through the AAR for the game with JK. I hope to get that done and out the door by this weekend if not sooner. CDIC get your act together and do one for our game I need some reading material!!!

  10. Hey JK it will be good to read your AAR. I have just started yours and should be done I hope by end of play Monday as I have the day off. I will CC you in on a copy.

I had to do CDIC's and have sent him a copy as well as WB and TB.

I have had a good weekend and had the good fortune of playing quite a few turns with George. Not sure he would say that it was a good weekend as he has taken a few hits and while he still has the boot I am wresting it off his feet. Well trying anyway.

As for Tom not so many turns, but then we only have a few to play. The stalemate has been resolved (partly) and I guess he is reeling slightly from some lucky moves I pulled off.

Anyway I hope he sends me one while I am asleep so we can soon finish that and I can do some more AAR's. His cats still have claws just not soo many. ;)

As for JK's comments I will leave it upto others to decide if he is right with his views. I think he is slighly skwed but then who am I to say what I would have done in his situation. ;) Til the next battle JK...

Catch you guys later and good hunting.

  11. For those of you into pillboxes I have just been given a site that will give you heaps of designs to look at.

After our meeting in London Justin posted this site to me.

Take A look, I hope some modders can use it to effect.

    A GREAT SITE.

Just found this with a neat drawing of a spigot mortar which I had heard of but never seen.

  12. What an eventful day. It is midnight here and I can go to bed with a wry smile.

Great game JK. We both could have done better and we both did well in certain areas.

Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.

But honestly mate we have both won in this game as we had a good laugh and enjoyed the sport of moaning about our misfortunes to one another and whoever bothered to read this.

If you remember the film Zulu I leave you with the image at the end when the Zulus beaten but still proud salute the defenders by singing a tribal song and leave the field to the victors.

I am sure your men will be singing as they leave the field in search of the nearest medical post.

    Cheers I salute you.

(I have finished my bottle of JD so it will have to be grouse, quite appropriate really).

  13. Could I implore a contact number or two from anyone going on the marrow?

I will be wizzing down the M40 to Beaconsfield and hence by BR to the allotted spot.

If some one could send me their mobile number in case I am delayed then I can locate you.

    My home e-mail is Holien@BTinternet.com

I am in all tonight and will e-mail back that I have received such a number.

I will check this thread before I leave on the marrow for any updates.

Bear in mind that London hosts the Rugby on Saturday and it will be a tad crowded around Twickenham in the buildup to the 3pm Kick Off.

    Catch you chaps on Saturday.

  14. George the turn is on the way to you...

The second battle of XX has started and no winner has been found just yet.

JK I have sent the turn to you and will say nothing. Down the wire all the way.

I await your awakenings in Sunny California. Here in dim England the log fires are burning as we snuggle up to watch the next installment of BoB and sit down and eat our dinners.

PC is fired up and waiting any responses.

And what is the difference between blind and double blind and what exactly do they mean? I assume double blind means both players only know they're own units and deploy zones and not their opponents?

    Yep to Mirror.

Blind is when your opponent knows the setup but you don't or vice versa.

Double Blind is when both of you have no idea about the setup or when things will happen.

These games are the only way to go for sheer terror. WB is a master of these as you think you will be wiped and then in the nick of time (or not) you get some more men.

    H

  16. Hey WB I really do hope we can give you a small smidgen of pleasure from our antics on this BB. After all you have given so much pleasure (painful at times) to us.

JK has sent the last turn and it sits in my mailbox waiting for me to get home.

He has given me no idea on how it went and all I can do is sweat at the thought of what awaits me. He has however continued his moaning and made me giggle.

I have sent the latest turn to Tom and my little "Souris" are yanking the tail of his large "Chats". Several tails have been detached and some of my "Souris" munched. My "Aigles" have swooped several times and managed to snatch a few things in their talons, I just hope my "Souris" can stay out of their sight.

I think we have about 6 turns to go before we rest and assess the situation. It has been a bit of a stalemate and these next few turns could see me lose it or win it as I am working the angles.

George has not responded in awhile and I know he has some big issues to deal with so I wait quietly for him to continue our game. This has 15 or so turns to go and he has been given several boots and I am desperately stuffing books down my trousers to protect my backside. Those trees are a moving to the thunder of his reinforcements.

Ahh well back to work more tonight when I get home..
