I'm undecided on whether that's a good thing or a bad thing. See, now I care when any of my infantry go down. In CMx1, I really didn't care until they started breaking. Pure cannon fodder. But now I can see that I'll have to write emails to the widows and family of the fallen pixel men. It's affecting my judgement in issuing orders. Do I send Chip, Paul, William G, LJ, Billy & Doc? Or do I send some other pixel people who I don't know as well? You can certainly see the moral dilemma that didn't exist when they were just three guys representing a number!
  2. If I had seen the letters "RTS" associated with it all, I would've passed right on by. I never would've read any further and found out that WEGO could possibly be involved. When I see a new game, I scan descriptions for any indication of RTS and auto-ignore the game forever if found. Yes, I'm an avid, hard-core, anti-clickfest participant. But, I'm the same way about asparagus and/or artichokes.

  3. Hmmm, I bought CMBO because of the pre-release buzz. After experiencing CMBO I pre-ordered CMBB whole-heartedly because of Gary Grigsby. I pre-ordered CMAK, but didn't really enjoy open deserts too much (although I tried to track down enough stuff to do the Normany thing a few times, I always ended up with something desert-like in the middle of my game). I pre-ordered CMSF because of inertia. Although my inertia lost serious steam with the current implementation of Quick Battles, so unless the next CM is back to the Eastern Front, we'll see. I doubt I'll ever buy CMC (because I believe I'll never have the option).

  4. I dunno, it gives me something to look at while I would've been looking at a blue bar taking eons, millenia, and several minutes (many inches on the sun dial). And it saves me time, in that most of the turns I don't even need to watch the replay segment and can skip it altogether.
