You're still missing his point. He shouldn't have to do any of that. He shouldn't have to register anywere else. No matter how "easy" you think it is. No matter the cost.Originally posted by The_Enigma:The lastest version of CMBB goes out already patched. For those who have an older version and want it patched, all they have to do is download it from the likes of Fileplanet, it takes like a minute to set up an account plus its Free.
Ah yes, falling back to Sun Tzu's Classic Lemming/Teenager Strategy. Interesting and yet revealing move.Originally posted by The_Enigma:At any rate most other companies do this to, when ive patched games in the past, like 75% of the time had to go to the likes of fileplanet etc

I'd try verifying the bmp's are still present and if so, validate they can be read by any paint program. That should rule out accidental or malicious deletions and/or corruptions of the files themselves. Leaving (probably) video card issues.

He has an excellent point. He shouldn't have to go to another place to get a patch. He shouldn't have to register elsewhere, no matter what the monetary cost.
I understand BTS/BFC putting patches out at alternate locations initially. But on the morning after the "night of the refreshing monkeys," the patches should be available without using a third party.

I know what the invention is and have created a countermeasure. I can't tell anyone though, because it would upset the balance of power and make the Peng thread obsolete.
And all this talk of metal underpants chafing is completely off track of the original reason for their invention... explosive diarrhea (aka: shrapnel farts).

This whole thread is silly. The entire premise has gotten ahead of itself. The original topic was...
"Battlefront - Will CMC Be Vista Compatible?"
It should have been...
"Battlefront - Will CMC Be?"

Reminds me of a Q&A I had with a CMSgt, oh so many years ago... Q: "Why is our wing's goal 97%?" A: "A goal has to be obtainable."Originally posted by Battlefront.com:It is an unobtainable goal, but it is the direction we have always been moving towards.

Not sure why, but my very old tagline somehow seems appropriate to this thread...

You're not describing a wargame. You're describing a click-fest (AKA: RTS).Originally posted by B00M$LANG:It makes one wonder why you even bother playing wargames if you can't adapt to new challenges. I guess I'd get frustrated too, getting my ass handed to me playing against 14 and 15 year olds who understand the need for quick-thinking and rapid implementation of plans. That must really suck!

I also believe Gen (Ret) Tommy Franks was a Vietnam amputee who got back on active duty circa' late/post Vietnam. (?)

You have to understand the VA disability rating system to realize you're discussing apples & oranges.Originally posted by Echo:He said some guys in line with him for physicals had 30, 40, and 50 percent disabilities from the VA, and they were all stamped "APPROVED" (for duty)by the doctors.

An end-of-scenario unlimited time option would also allow the players to decide for themselves whether a time constraint is fun in their gaming experience.Originally posted by Mud:Unlimited time would eliminate what would often be a fairly important constraint on the attacker --

Are you sure you're selecting the white sphere? (it should get bigger while selected). Also note that this won't have any real effect if it's not the last waypoint (although mid-waypoints will accept pause commands).

First, you'll have to pry WEGO out of my cold dead hands.

Select/click on that particular waypoint (the white sphere at the end of the path), THEN select facing.

Good question. I have just played three QB's in a row and came to the same conclusions. If I had to, I'd guess that BTS/BFC completely missed the mark for a substantial percentage of their long-time customer base and programmed themselves into a box, while hoping the fan base would build enough scenarios to alleviate the situation? A secondary portion of my guess would be that QB's were left in for quick-testing the aforementioned fan-built scenarios?
Although I have to say that it's getting fairly close (excepting the current topic) to what I thought we were getting last year! The hope that allowed me to leave it on my hard drive all this time, is getting stronger.
