  1. Oh and for one that IS balanced: Difficulty: Nationalists: Average Republicans: Average Balance: Balanced Pro-Republican Nationalist points: 1,100 Republican points: 1,100 Map Size: 720 x 640
  2. GaJ I do label that on most scenarios. Below is a part of one of my briefing from a scenario that is about to be released. IYO is it clear enough. If not I'm open to making it clearer. Difficulty: French Average German Challenging Balance: Pro-French Points: French 1,625 German 1,100 Map size: 800 x 1,300
  3. Can any of the Australian history Grogs recommend books that cover the following period: Dec 1941-June 1942 in the Pacific, primarily Malaysia, Indonesia and New Guinea. Looking for detailed information of use to a scenario designer of company sized battles. ie maps, diagrams and OOBs. Thanks
  4. Hi Carel I'm back, which scenario of yours would you like me to review? Vs AI best and smaller the better!
  5. Thanks for running this, unfortunately you caught me in an extremely busy period and I didn't finish the scenario I was custom making for your contest. However I did have some other scenarios in production and I submitted one of those.
  6. Welcome back, I've been busy at work for a month and haven't been doing much except dropping in here on occasion. Those Calais one's are: Small Battles 3RTR at Calais, 1940 Small Battles Les Attaques 1940 Small Battles Row at Coulogne 1940 There are also a number of French vs German ones set in 1940 too, the above are all historical Brits vs Germans
  7. An idea I did earlier for CMBB but did not complete A Russian defense of a Soviet military base with airfield in 1941 with a another battle set on the same terrain in 1944 with the Germans defending.
  8. I do have planned several historical Australian scenarios set in PTO, Amboina with 'Gull Force' and Timor with 'Sparrow' Force, Some smaller actions in Malaysia An operation set on the Kokoda trail in New Guinea Several Korean and Vietnam scenarios also in the planning Let me know if you'd be interested in any of these Hans
  9. Want something different? Fun? Silly? Try CM Gunfight 1881 at the Scenario Depot (cmak) Set in the American West......... I did do a scenario that used the terrain from Gettysburg but it remains unfinished. Several other scenarios use terrain from Napoleonic battles etc battles. The only direct translation is here: Small Battles Churubusco SCW for Cmak is a Spanish Civil War version of the battle of the same name from the Mexican American war of 1848.
  10. That problem happens to my scenarios on occassion the Admiral can fix it, just give him a day or two - be sure you send him an email on it.
  11. Hey feel free to taint any of my scenarios with your comments! And thanks for all the reviews - of mine and other designers!
  12. I understand how you feel Carl I have 71 battles in Cmak at SD and only 26 having been reviewed and only 2 of eight operations. A couple on the CD have never received a single review either. However this is far better percentage than for CMBB or CMBO. I'll make you a deal if you can wait a week (the real world is very busy for me right now) I'll play one and review in exchange for a review of one of my unreviewed ones. But be warned, I tend to be hard reviewer!
  13. Probably did but I didn't see it. The author can be contacted at CGSC for more details.
  14. An interesting powerpoint presentation - with the North African campaign (and others) Of interest to cavalry grogs I would believe http://www.louisdimarco.com/horse_to_mecz.htm
  15. Arab Israeli operations and battles Small Operations, Abu Agueila, 1956 Small Battles Jaffa 1948 AIW Small Battles, Block at El-Arish 1956 Small Battles, Mandelbaum’s Gate Small Battles, Notre-Dame Small Battles, Retaliation AIW Small Battles Towers of Allah 1969 AIW
  16. I can do anything better. Im going to send you an email to your adress with several maps of Cassino Area and battles. I hope you find them useful. (Aproximately 5Mb attached in 2 emails). On Lycos.com you can get email with up to 5 mb of attachment capacity. Free. Notice me if you have problems with the attachment size. Willy. </font>
  17. Well DS Those were built a long time ago and I focused more on the IP/PBEM capacity at that time however you could try: Bone dry and Hurtin as the US vs the German AI Village Fracas as either side versus the AI Pissing off the Pope US vs German AI Pissing and Village have been remade in CMAK, Bone dry is in the shipyard awaiting conversion. Oh yes the HSG suggestion is good too, played that and found it rewarding.
  18. When you get CMAK I could recommend Small Battles Epirus and Small Battles The Transvaal Scottish Hold.....all have an a strong AI attack.
  19. Howdy ChristerS Here are some of my biggest Small Operation Abu Agueila 1956 Small Operation Suoi Tre Vietname Small Battles Montcornet 1940 Small Operation Saar Bridgehead 1944 Small Battles Row at Coulinge 1940 Small Battles 3RTR at Calais 1940 Small Operation Bishenpur Burma If you're into Germans vs Allies then I would recommend Saar Bridge, as the others are early war or Pacific theatre/Vietnam/AIW.
  20. Perhaps we need a fourth designation besides fictional, semi-historical and historical? I think we also need a catagory(s) for a historical scenario that has EVERYTHING, OOB, briefing and map in 100% accuracy. I'd say the map is usually the weak point because most sources will only show a sketch map and from that you must guess or interpret from modern maps. (only a small percentage of those that I label historical would make it into the new catagory). I suggest we call it: Historical Historical Grog level 1 Historical Grog level 2 Historical Grog level 3 Grog level one has a historic OOB, reasonable briefing while a Historical Grog level 3 scenario has a map of no more than 1:25,000 made by members of the opposing sides (while at a cafe in Paris in the 1960s). A by name list of participants = their status and wounds - and what they did after the war. Plus a listing (by serial number of all vehicles and crew served weapons) plus their fate. A minimum of 40 to 50 B/W stills taken within a hour of the battle plus one film clip from newstone or Signal. PLUS modern photos of the same area (which has remain pristine and devoted to the battles fought there) and is run by a guy named Maurice. Also it should include the names of all miniature clubs that have wargamed the action and how many times its been mentioned in the militaria press. That might get it to Grog level 3....
  21. Hmmmmm is the map image downloadable? ie can I get some lovely soul to down load a map of the Monte Lugo area?
  22. It depends on how long you are willing to wait! I've just started up the semester here and unlike the past four years I actually have to work. It might be 6 weeks to three months until I can get to it, sorry about that. The real world has put a real crimp in my scenario production.
  23. I remember Empire! It was a bit different from that described here - I don't recall bombers or factories? Been many years. I remember designing maps for it, and you would have to explore the planet and remove the black square from each map tile as you went. [/QB]
