CMBB Question regarding tactics
The Commissar replied to Mannheim Tanker's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)

quote:
Originally posted by redwolf: Sorry that is BS. In fact, the Soviet Union was implementing the same new doctrine as the Germans, even faster and with better tanks to support it (T-34, generally less fuel usage, Christie suspension etc.). The Soviets lost badly in 1941 because of other reasons.

Ahem, redwolf. Find someone else to berrate for his errors! I was here first! -

Are BTS 's workers ,in fact, "umpa-lumpas"?

quote:
Originally posted by Cauldron: Yada yada. eric

No, I don't think the fest is over with just yet. No, I won't email you, because spending precious minuted of my time which could be spent far better by beating my opponents in a PBEM, would be quite the waste. Also, I know I probably wont agree with what you have to say, unless you think minor engine quirks (like troop behaviour in towns, or the faulty ambush tab) degrade this wonderful game. To me, this is currently the #1 game of all time. There has been no game more enjoyable, more lasting for me. No game has emersed me as well, despite its lack of supa-shiny graphics and 3d explosions. Let's hope CM2 surpasses even CMBO's high standards! -

quote:
Originally posted by Lopaka: Simmer down you from the not so brilliant as Section 3, Section

I agree. IMHO, Section 3 is the most Aryan of sections of them all. I'm blond and my eyes are slightly blue, so there! I just hope we don't suffer the same fate as the last "Aryans" who showed up... Yep. Just a fancy bump on my part. -
CMBB Question regarding tactics
The Commissar replied to Mannheim Tanker's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)

quote:
Originally posted by wwb_99: The short answer is that the Germans developed tactical tank/infantry/arty coordination years before everyone else. By 1944 (ie CMBO), the western allies (at least) had developed a similar level of coordination, meaning TAC AIs could be similar. The long answers should be along any second now. WWB

Interestingly enough, while the Germans have been traditionally labeled as the first country to use such tank/inf/arty strategies, the Soviets were actually the first ones to use them in Manchuria. Too bad they seem to have forgotten them 2 years later. -
Does Peng Own an NSX
The Commissar replied to imported_Steel_Rain's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Ive seen a Peng on the IL-2 forums over at www.il2sturmovik.com Didn't think anyone else would willingly pick such a name up. Does it have any sort of meaning/origin in reality, or is it one of those random keyboard smash names like "ewNJFWbnjf"? -

Yes, I would also like a time. Wreck, since you dont hang out at the TH chats anymore (swamp is getting very lonely, you heartless bastage!), Ive been having trouble tracking you down. Ive tried here, in thread, but you seem to respond once in a century. So Ill guess in advance and say Im looking at a window of opportunity for TCP/IP play at the 14th of January. OK, really, Im available anywhere between 3pm - 11pm, on many but not all weekdays. Times listed are East Coast U.S. -

CMBB FAQ -- The REAL DEAL
The Commissar replied to Panzer Leader's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Sweet! I like the build your own factory idea especially! -
As some here may remember, on the thirteenth of November, Steve said: What comes next? Well, we are going to release a batch of screenshots showing off the new terrain graphics sometime this month. We are sure you will be impressed. Now, since the "end of the month" is closing in on us rather quickly and no hint of the promised screenshots have graced our monitors, Im reminding everyone (BTS especially) to pretty please with a cherry on top, don't forget your promise!

quote:
Originally posted by Puff the Magic Dragon: or shall I start to wave my tail?

Hey, whatever bumps this thread back up into the forum's attention, right?
-
How long was the reload time for these rail guns? If it is 30 minutes or longer, surely their inclusion would be more of a time waster. There are very few scenarios that go beyond 60 turns of combat.

I would just like to remind you CMHQ people of this one teeny-weeny problem. *ahem* And so saideth Steve: "What comes next? Well, we are going to release a batch of screenshots showing off the new terrain graphics sometime this month. We are sure you will be impressed." I urge you to pay very close attention to the "this month" part.

Which German Armored Car MOD are you using?
The Commissar replied to Herr Kruger's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Fernando's magnificent mono color scheme is my mod of choice for all the German vehicles he had made it available for. It just seems more realistic, and perhaps best of all, makes all my German AFVs match with each other. Beautiful work.
