1. I have a modified Shreck that has a double barrel and will fit snugly inside my pant leg and holds two charges. Oh what a coincidence, I have two x-wives . Of course to make room I had to remove "mr winkie" but the by-product of that is that I don't have to worry bout a third x!... ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 2. Lol, and then BTS went broke and Stevie an Charlie had to live in a van "down by the river" because they forgot to charge for the updates and never got a fully new product out the door. Shwing!! ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by Formerly Babra: Golgotha, it's loud. It's so loud it ceases to be noise any more. Flinching ceases because the bang of your puny gun is inconsequential next to a tank battalion engaging with 105s. When it's over your whole body is numb not from adrenaline but from sound shock. Ever sat right in front of a speaker tower at a 50,000 fan concert? It feels a lot like that. Hearing loss happens a lot.

huh? said the ex-sonarman ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 4. I've started using a couple of jeeps (non-MG) at the beginning to scout out thine enemy. I know they're probly gonna be wasted but if you try an run unpredictable routs they can last awhile and reveal good stuff. They can also carry more peeps than the MG jeep if so desired. [edit] I should say they have a higher transport class. [end edit] ------------------ Thanks for Athskin! 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Hundminen: BTS Not to sound ungrateful, but a little too much of a good thing is a bad thing. I've got 7 or 8 active PBEM opponents with various patch versions, and it's now getting difficult managing them all. I don't see anything really major in this patch or the previous one. Perhaps it would simplify our lives if these minor patches were grouped together and released less frequently? Unless, of course, TCP/IP is patched. You can do that one anytime

Why don't ya do what I did. I made up a form for each PBEM that I'm currently in. It lists the person, handle, ICQ #, email address, *version*, ladder match?, and any other pertinent notes for that person. It's right next to my Jim Beam cup so it's very handy... ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 6.
quote:
Originally posted by Elijah Meeks: So why post something like this? Why not a question about the frontal armor on the Sd Kfz 7/2? Or the best use of half-squads. Or Gebirgsjager vs. Fallschirmjager?

Speaking of that, I'm just in the process of getting my rumpus slapped by at least a Veteran company of those GerbilsBaggers. Those vermin are tuff!... ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by Lee: If some online game reviewers are too stupid to realize that these updates are mainly user-requested new features/improvements to the game, then no one should pay any attention to what they have to say, anyhow. I like the fast-but-smaller updates; who wants to wait 2 months for the tiger turret to be improved, other than allied tank crews?

Maybe you would if you were playing against that durned Tigey...lol ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 8. All I know is that in one PBEM game I only received 3 AFV's total and they were all Stuarts. I bout poo'd my pants when near the middle of the game the other guy brought out his Tigey that he got in the draw and started whacking my infantry with impunity from beside a mansion on top of an all-seeing hill. My only hope of winning the game now was to cage that Tiger. I finally streaked an zigged an zagged one of my Stuarts to the base of the hill under great tactical prowess and stress, then: * * * (suspense) * * * (more suspense) * * The next turn I picked the wrong side of the mansion to go around to get behind him and was staring that beast down at point blank range...lol. I managed to get two shots off and the second finally hit. Yes!, Yes! I cried, I snapped that sucker in the "weak" spot!! Then I noticed the barrel continue to traverse towards me and hoped only the machine gun was still working (please, please!). Wrong answer, and with a puff, it was lights out and a surrender was in order. I only had knocked out a crew member and the thing just laughed at me. So I guess the moral is that even if you get that 1 ina 100 shot, you still might not have finished the job. ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 9. I wanna marry you both...And no I'm not that Richard on "Survivor"... Sha-Wing!! ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Jadayne: Has anyone registered at the PONG forum to tell them what this guy said about their game?

I don't know bout you, but CM seems to play great with a paddle... ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 11. Lol, I think you got it right. I am truly a savage coward. But I do not, repeat, do not!, have a timorous lodged inside my head. No sir... (babble, babble) ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 12. I just noticed this trend of mine over the last week or so. Since I've been playing PBEM's for awhile now, I seem to load up my Outlook Express looking for CM turn replies with either a sense of eagerness or a sense of trepidation. One feels like "I hope that bastage didn't send me anything today" and the second being "Hurry up u muther!, I'm clushing your head, I'm clushing your head". So I sat down today and analyzed this extensively for all of 45 seconds and found the following conclusions: I feel trepidation when I'm getting my snapper whacked. I feel eagerness when I'm finally beating somebody over the net (or at least it appears so). Can't really say why I do but just thought I'd put that out for y'alls consumption. Might be others feeling the same way. We could maybe start a support group or something. ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 13. Another thing to do for ME's would be to make the game much longer in turns (Say 50 to 60). That way if you want to take your time and devise a different plan instead of rushing you can do so. Also you'll have more time to punish said "rusher type" with arty an assault AFV's as stated earlier. An you probably don't have to worry about the game being too long as someone will probably crush his Op well within the time limit. I know I hate to have that "If I don't get there before him" feeling that I'll be struggling in an uphill battle for the rest of the game due to time constraints. ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by Mark IV: Often you can fire from the center of a building (the little ones, anyway) but with a reduced field of view. You are much less likely to be spotted until you fire. The major problems with hiding in buildings are more related to flames and gravity. As you will learn....

I don't have these problems at all. When I have troop-sters on the top floor, I always put a fire extinguisher and trampoline on the bottom floor...sheesh, always overlooked by junior players... ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 15. Yeah, Yeah, an we could play twister with them Too... ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 16. I like to lose a tank or two early on. It gets my dander up so I fight real hard from then on to see if I can get a draw...maybe... ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 17. O My GOD!, that's why those little **** crews come outta nowhere to steal your turrets attention! ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 18. *** CM Borg Under-study *** OK, we... ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 19. I won, I won!! ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 20. *** Fake CM Borg *** You have been simulated. Resistance is pretty much furtile... ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 21.
quote:
Originally posted by KMan: pcelt, This has been mentioned before (when 1.03 came out), if you are on a Windows platform, simply rename one of the executables, put them both in the correct directory, then just run the one you need at the moment. You can setup shortcuts to them as well, so starting one of the versions is simply clicking a different icon. I've been doing this with 1.01 and 1.03 no problems. I now have 1.04 setup the same way, but haven't tried it yet, assuming it will work because of the way CM is distributed. -Kyle

Lol, it figures. I've been using batch files to copy back an forth both versions. Didn't even cross my mind to do this simpler method. An I even renamed the executable!...hehehe ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 22. The one, in a van, down by the river?? ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 23. You keep this type of support up and you'll have a customer for 2 lifetimes!..WooHoo...O by the way, will this patch allow me to kill the Tiger mantle with a crewman? You know, a weak spot?... ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
 24. I think I saw an entrail holding ceremony once...or maybe it was late an the Jim Beam/Pepsi combo skewered my hallucination process...o well, back to dying in PBEM... ------------------ Thanks for Athskin!
