  1. Well, for myself, this is the one thing I have to do EVERY time I play a game, and is the most tedious by far. It just doesn't seem like the placement of infantry would need that much code-tweaking. The codes already there. This is the only thing about CM (in the entire game) that I would like made better. Every else is just great.
  2. I used to use Lotus screencam a log time ago. Anyone use this or something like this? Didn't MS have a similar program?
  3. I'm thinking, if someone knows how to make a *.mov file, we can then create movies of our turns. Anyone notice the intro for Combat Mission is a *.mov file? So obviously BTS knows how...
  4. Oh no! I cannot see thie pictures of the newer faces! What happened to the pics David?
  5. I find that when I have a huge company/battalion of infantry, once the scenario-setup starts, I immidiately begin putting them into tightly packed platoons. Putting each platon leader in the middle, and the other 3 or 4 units real close around him. This way I can much more effectively manage all these squads easier. When I create a scenario I do the same thing for inital placements, so thos eplaying have an easier time seeing and moving platoons. BTS - Is it possible for you to update the code so that infantry platoons are grouped closer together upon startup of a QB? This would make management of companies and battalions so much easier in the long run...
  6. John, Could you make a winter Jagdpanther?
  7. Dave, Excellent work. Only suggestion is the eyes. They freak me out a bit when playing. I feel they are "real" people. They're talking to me saying, "hey, don't send me to my death! I'll come after you while you're sleeping!!" So, could you blend the eyes in a bit more? Also the guy who is at the top-left looks like he might be retarded or cross-eyed. I'm not trying to be rude with the retarded comment, just an honest obvservation. Otherwise these are excellent. Thanks so much for the great work. Can you send me your version 2 if you decide to redo the eyes? Thanks!
  8. > 1. What two weapons claimed the most Tiger I and II tanks during WWII? For the tough part.. what > was one of the most unusual ways to knock one out yet leave the tank intact? *** The two weapons that claimed the most kills were the aircraft HE bomb or heavy artillery. One of the few weak spots on the Tiger I/II tanks was the roof of the engine which is also where alot of pilots would aim their bombs at. The most unusuall way to "disable" one was brought about by the P-47 Thunderbolt with its 8 .50 cal HMG's. The pilots would shoot out the ground from underneath one of the tracks and tip them over. Needless to say trying to get a 45-60 ton vehicle back on its tracks is no easy chore! Interesting note.. the Tiger I/II tanks weighed more then most modern day main battle tanks. Tiger I weighed in at 57 tons and the Tiger II at 68 tons! While fighting on the Eastern Front one of the tactics used the Russians was to rush at high speed towards and ram the Tiger I and try to knock it out with a point blank range flank or rear shot.
  9. Yea! Looks awesome. Thanks Matt! [This message has been edited by jpinard (edited 09-22-2000).]
  10. I cannot seem to find hardly any winter uniforms for either side, besides what was available in July.
  11. Oops, here's the link to his site: http://users.pandora.be/aneric/index8.htm#top

  13. This guy (vordenstein) has been making some amazing scenarios. Just look at these screenshots!! and this one: Please try them out, they're incredible. Good work!! [This message has been edited by jpinard (edited 09-21-2000).]
  14. Holy cow! I cannot believe how many PBEM's some of you have going! Hi Priest! I'm glad to see our defense network has been put to such good use. Maybe that's why Russia is in such dire shape? Norad calculated how to get the best units for the least amount of money in QB's...
  15. In the case of a new tank mod. I play a new game and buy 10 or 15 of the new tanks. Totally unrealistic, but I pretend that I just got a new shipment from a factory running overtime. Then I stare at them from every single angle (after they're setup) and admire their infinite beauty. I then put them in formation and try to raze everything down in their paths as they head for the largest victory flag. I always lose the QB doing this, but it sure is a thing of beauty to admire the new tanks riding into the sunset... Well, it's not a sunset, it's the fire from their partner's tank husk...
