  1. I think it should be left as it is. In my many months of playing this game i have only had one game where I questioned my opponents moves as "gamey." Perhaps others are unluckier than I, but i'm happy with the current setup. Thanks.
  2. Oh yeah, I forgot that my friend was also using yahoo mail, so I think you're right. He recently got a new address through his ISP and now everything works ok.
  3. Hey M.Bates, knock it off. That type of response only ignites flame wars, which you've no doubt been around long enough to see are an absolutely useless way of communicating. Tanaka asked if you emailed him. Did you? What did he say? You responded by telling him to read the whole post. I reread it, and it doesn't say anywhere that you emailed him. So why the sharp reply? Perhaps you could tell us the specific nature of your problem. When it isn't working, what is it doing. Do you get another message other than "Please email me?" If so, what is it. I have not had any problems with the RD forms, so I am curious what it is you are experiencing. What browser are you using? A friend of mine had problems reporting while using Netscape, but no problems using Explorer (I don't know why). [This message has been edited by Richlop (edited 09-23-2000).]
  4. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>I can't believe that BTS has not modelled cellars in this game 'cause if they had, that would have been the ideal place to set up my mortar teams...with the commander having control over them set up directly above them on the timber floor, for spotting purposes.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> LOL
  5. Here you go 2B: http://www.battlefront.com/products/pro_ordering.html There is info at the above link for getting your copy of CM by check or money order. If you have any difficulties, just contact Battlefront. They are extremely helpful. Have fun! Rich
  6. I also have a Voodoo 2 and have no problems with flags in the full version of the game. I recall that in the demo they would get a little psychadelic, but haven't had any problems since then. As for opponents, if you have a hard time finding any you might consider joining a ladder. Some people don't like to jump right in, but I've found it a great way to find opponents and to see how I rate amongst them. Here's a couple you might want to take a look at. http://home.wanadoo.nl/edwin.vos/cm/cm.htm and http://tournamenthouse.com/CM Welcome to your new addiction. 7. Anyone interested in joining a ladder or two? For those who are, you can find a couple of good one's at http://home.wanadoo.nl/edwin.vos/cm/cm.htm or http://tournamenthouse.com/CM Great places to find opponents and to see how you rate. I'd leave my address but i'm all booked up at the moment. Have fun!! [This message has been edited by Richlop (edited 08-31-2000).]
  8. When he gets your message, he will see the attached file. He should click, maybe even double click, on it, and save it wherever he wants on his hard drive. Then he starts game, presses "Join Multiplayer," then "Load E-mail," and he will get a folder directory. He needs to remember where he saved it to, so now he can go there and click on it.
  9. I play mostly QB's, and I think the VL's are mostly random. I usually get 1 - 3, sometimes 4. Have yet to see 6, though. That's intense.
  10. Open up your email program and prepare a regular email message to send your friend. If you don't see a 'paperclip' icon in your toolbar, look in your menu for a command called "attach" or "insert". Press it and go from there. Good luck.
  11. Oh, just in case you don't know, TCP-IP isn't available yet, but is forthcoming. Until then it's either PBEM or hotseat if your with your friend. Should be soon, I hope.
  12. Hi Shatter, First you have to start a game as if you are playing by yourself (hit "Play Game", not "join multiplayer"). After you pick your battle, but before getting to the map for setup, it asks how you will be playing "1 player, hotseat, or email." click "email." Then you will setup, hit go, and you will be given a prompt to save your file. After you do that, exit, go to the PBEM folder in your CMBO folder, and send the file to your friend. He will then hit "join multiplayer", "load email", and go from there. Hope that helps. If you tried all this already then forgive my babbling. If that doesn't work, I don't know what's wrong. 13. That's wierd. I do notice that the cursor does not change as if on a link, but as if on editable text. Nevertheless, whenever I click on a name, Outlook Express opens with that persons address.
  14. Ok! Got an email from Rob at Tourn House, and this is what he wrote: <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>On the main CM page there is a User List link above the (Total games Total user)in the center. It shows all members and also has an editing area for player game info and if they are available to play. Click on a name to send an opponent an email and start a game. We just opened it so not allot of members in yet, but soon will I hope Here is the link incase you still have trouble. http://tournamenthouse.com/CM/playerlist.shtml If you have any questions please email me, Happy Hunting! Rob<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> I checked and, sure enough, it's there. [This message has been edited by Richlop (edited 08-29-2000).]
  15. I wondered that myself MB. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that the site was originally geared towards players of Close Combat, where PBEM is NOT an option. Therefore players would have to be logged on at the same time to see and challenge each other. Just a guess. I think I'll send an Email and ask them. 16. Am using 1.05 (pc) and have experienced 1 lockup and 1 really long stutter since patching. Other than that, no problems.
  17. I live in Cali and received mine in 4 days.
  18. "...the investigators revealed an atmosphere rife with low morale, drinking and discord between enlisted soldiers and officers." Sounds like the Army to me. I kind of wonder if this isn't always true, regardless of who's in charge.
  19. How many times have you tried emailing? Perhaps they didn't get your first attempt. Just a thought.
  20. No, the only Email you get is the one thanking you for you order. At least, that's all I ever received. Shipping time has been pretty good. I just ordered a 2nd copy (for a friend) on Sunday and received the game today (Thursday). Don't know how much longer for international orders. Enjoy!
  21. Most of us have it already. Only available on the net. Start by clicking this link. http://www.battlefront.com/products/worldwar/cm/cm_order.html [This message has been edited by Richlop (edited 07-13-2000).]
