Most definately, I have tried different drivers, even downloaded Directx 8 beta. On my work machine, running win98 there is no such problems. It seems wierd as there are much more graphics intensive programs out there that, have absolutely no problems... ah well...at least i can play

Hello all, I am at work, hence without the benefit of my manual. I tried searching, but as i thought this is probably too basic of a question to be asked. Once troops get tired (weary...) is there a chance for them to rest and return to a more positive physical state?

I find these threads extremely one-sided. Everyone always focuses on Germany as being the greatest evil for the genocide they inflicted on the various populations of Europe. "Only Germans could have been so evil as to develop this NAZI ideology" Let me tell you, any human being of any race is capable of sinking to certain depths as soon as certain criteria are met. Enough despair, enough humiliation, enough oppression, enough PRIDE and anyone would perform evil acts. Not too many people condemn the U.S for the ethnic cleansing of the Native Indian populations. No one condemns Canada for placing innocent people of Japanese origin in camps. British slaughter and oppression of countless races and cultures in Africa and Asia, its romantic history to most. Even in todays age, where we are all liberal and enlightend we have situations as those in Rwanda, Yugoslavia, Checnia. To pick one of these incidents, and demonize only one of these cultures is being hypocritical, and perpetuating the ignorance and tunnel vision that contribute to the suffering. The "we Can do no evil" characteristics of every nation on the planet is one of the things that causes the suffering many have experienced. And before you label me as another "german who loves his Nazis" I am Polish. Many of my family members went through the evil of the Second World War. But I choose not to blame, not to seek some twisted revenge, but to learn what leads to situations such as those, and to keep myself in check from ever thinking like Dr.Dave apparently does. No it looks as if there are no current solutions to this problem. Its a pain in the butt, since the mouse pointer and the in game text are whacked out. The Dell certified driver suggestion might work for dell systems, but i have a clone, besides it is probably the original driver that came with that system. I am using Detonator 3 drivers, and those are much advanced than any original win2k drivers. I have had this problem with several different driver sets, so i know its not the 6.18 fault. The game runs fine in Windows 98se with detonator drivers, so it has to be some incompatibility with win2k.... Sometimes the game text gets fixed when you press escape, other times not. Makes me think its some sort of refresh, redraw code error inside CM. Anyways would be great if BTS could mention if this is a documented problem, and that some effort is being made to fix it. Its not a win2k-wide problem, as none of my other games experience this behaviour. Thanks!

I am playing a PBEM right now, where I am German defender in a small village, being assaulted by the Canadian opponent. In one turn I had a half-track rather deep inside the village on a road doing some suppressive fire towards a patch of woods, where I suspect a bunch of infantry is hiding out. I was watching another part of the action when I heard a metallic explosion. I checked back, and my half-track had been knocked out. I initially thought there was some armour that had snuck in and taken out the vehicle. So I rewond the tape and looked at what was happening. So there was my halftrack, happily machine gunning away, when out of the woods comes sailing a black round object. It flies directly into the back of the half-track, and boom...knockout. Now I dont know how far in metres this could have been, but it was quite a ways back. The accuracy was perfect, the spiral amazing. I thought "Now here is a CFL(canadian football league) superstar just waiting to happen". Could it have been something else, or was it the fore-father of Doug Floutie showing the world that Canadians can play football? [This message has been edited by Melloj (edited 08-23-2000).]

BTS seems to include the newest patch that is available in the version of CD's they ship as each shipment roles around. Easy way to check is once you install your game, you will see the version number in the lower right hand corner of the title screen. p.s. CM Borg? Adam.

Hello, Some time ago there were several messages from people having the exact same problem as me. That would be the flashing in game text, and flags on the bottom of the screen, and on the orders window when it comes up. I would like to know if anything has been identified as being the culprit behing that. thanks!

as hard as it is to believe i have had the game for one month, and not one PBEM. Just some hotseat with my brother. Is there anyone who would like to give me an initiation? MAIL ME I will be away till Sunday, but would like to get a game started then. Also is there any ICQ groups that have regular PBEM games going? Thanks!

Hello all, Its been a while since I posted, but I was wondering if the Unsuperbowl that was announced some time ago is still a go? At this rate most of the guys who signed up are probably veterans already..I unfortunatly haven't been able to play to much of CM, Work and Life do suck sometimes, Besides I have to reboot to Win 98 when i do want to play, cause Win2k and CM dont like each other, I get this flashing text in menu and command screen. Anyways Stuka, is it still on? Thanks!

Hey BTS, Does a geforce card have FSAA as well? I have the exact same text problems in Win2k. I have to reboot to win98 everytime i want to play CM. ITs a pain in the butt, and sometimes i say screw it.... cause im lazy. bad.... Anyways, is there any issues that could be causing this apparent incompatibility with win2k systems that you are aware of? Would be nice to see a patch for this.
