  1. Is there a way to knock out tanks with regular infantry?
  2. Agreed. LOS is ridiculous in many ways and I don't understand why they don't try ironing it out. You can't order fire through smoke, and all of a sudden a buttoned down tank has free LOS straight through a forest, spotting a gun that's 650 m away and has fired just once, having knocked out its target without it even seeing what happened.   3. Oh, they die all the time in the WW2-titles as well and take their time closing when fired upon. I'm starting to wonder whether it's ever useful to open up.

  6. I've been playing CMBN for a long time, basically just PBEM, and have never ever seen or had the opportunity to order an air strike. Last week my constant opponent and I decided to invest in Red Thunder as well and in the first scenario we play I hade available air support. However, I can't seem to control it. 1. Are they always or sometimes preset by the scenario, out of my control? 2. Are they as useless as they seem after the first two sorties have been flown? The first one hit closer to my own troops and out in the open and second didn't, as far as I know, hit anything either.
  7. Are there any benefits worth the risk? I tend to open the hatch on all my tanks as I think they spot things better, but they die so often I'm starting to wonder whether it's worth it or not?

  9. Maybe I jumped to conclusions. I'll get back to you when we've played a daytime scenario.
  10. Oh, I know the markers, but in the scenario we play now (which is at night, though) seem to have so many more than before the upgrade. This is, however, the first scenario we play since the upgrade so maybe it's just the scenario. My PBEM opponent agrees with me, though.
  11. I glanced through the forum but couldn't see anything, but I'm sure more of you have noticed the same. Aren't there an awful lot of more "Sighting markers" (boxes with a question mark) since the update? It's a little annoying to me, especially when they're in a spot I'm occupying, for example.
  12. They're stupid. Period. And it's very annoying. They also need to learn how to drive.
  13. Is there a solution on how to move vehicles without them making sudden stops all the time? They seem unable to make turns without stopping and they're absolutely horrible if you want them to move in a convoy. How can a game so focused on accuracy be so inept when it comes to vehicle movement?

  15. Well, I'm still playing scenarios and I find them all extremely accurate.
  16. I recently started playing Combat Mission again after not having played the game since old CM and several years ago. I enjoy the game, but it seems to me that guns and tanks are extremely accurate when they shoot. They rarely miss their first shot. Is that really realistic?
  17. Thank you, I do have a pretty good idea how it works and is supposed to work now. However, it does seem that the manual's descripton in the tutorial doesn't match what happens. Also, one more thing: There's now quick undo option should you not be happy with the split?
  18. Hello, After very many years of not playing CM at all I caved in and purchased CM:BN last week. Since it's been awhile, and since I've only played old CM I'm playing my way through the tutorial. Now I'm at the Fauville scenario and they want to teach me how to split squads (First of all they mess up east and west, but that's another matter). When I do as the tutorial reads, my team doesn't split like they say it should at all. I don't get a heavy weapons team and another team. I get a better division using "Split Team". Am I doing something wrong?
  19. That sux... (I have the same problem on my laptop) Also, considering the fact thap laptops with wider resolutions are becoming more common, I really do think there ought to be a fix for this.   21. OK, I'll do that. But one more question on the same topic (I'm lazy now, I know); How will it perform on my four year old desktop: AMD XP 2500+ (1.83 Ghz), 1 Gig RAM, GeForce FX5200?
  22. I'm about to buy a laptop with an AMD Turion X2 TL-60 2 Ghz processor and ATI Radeon 1250 Graphics. Is that enough to handle CMSF?
  23. I have a really weird problem. I can load the game perfectly AND play it, but when I exit the game, the computer goes to black screen. However, everything is running in the background. Should I somehow be able to start the game while clicking in the dark it works as well, and if I ALT-TAB out of the game, everything is there still. BUT, if I close CM by CTRL-ALT-Delete, the computer freezes. This problem doesn't appear all the time, but it started when I downloaded the latest drivers from NVIDIA. My old driver were just that... old, but I needed to update because of a new monitor. If I roll back the drivers I get monitor trouble instead. (Random crashes) Has anyone experienced this, and is there a solution? This problem exists in both CMBB and CMAK and it's an FX5200 card.
  24. The thing is that I almost always play scenarios. That is, I'm stuck with whatever the scenario designer has given me. I can't buy my own units, and I just wanted to find out which units actually CAN take out a Tiger, preferably without having to get behind it.
