  1. Maybe somebody's posted this before, but I have a little complaint. Why isn't it possible to "pre-target" with a unit? I mean, I KNOW that a Tank Destroyer is positioned around the corner, but there's no line of sight at the moment. If I order my tank to roll around that corner, it will keep the gun aimed forward, despite knowing that the TD is to the left. I just lost my only tank this way.
  2. Is it at all possible? [This message has been edited by Sven (edited 03-14-2001).]
  3. I keep on losing my PzIVs. Frontal hits with not that big guns (i.e. Stuarts). Were they really THAT easy to knock out?
  4. My German infantry just wasted one of their only two Panzerfausts on American infantry, why would they do that?
  5. Are there any limitations on where the tank decides to fire? I have mine parked right next to a small woods section, containing som German troops, but my tank just keeps fire the main gun and the MG. Are there any limits on firing into certain types of terrain? Also, how far away do my own troops have to be for the tank to flame the enemy troops nearby?
  6. I guess that means the answer is no, it's still not possible to fire (area fire) through smoke... too bad. (I haven't updated yet, because of a PBEM)
  7. It's been quite some time now since the Beta version was released, are there eny news about when the real 1.06 patch will be released? I don't care about TCP/IP, but other fixes would be nice.
  8. Is there any way to fire the arty if the spotter is dead?
  9. No, of course not, but I wouldn't stand up and run straight toward dug in enemy infantry to get into a house they're protecting. I'd say it's smarter to pull back.
  10. This is a bug: When the AI (your own troops or the computer's) decides to run for cover, they tend to pick a building. In the scenario I'm playing now with a friend, my troops decided that it was time to run for that building to get away from it all. The thing is that the building is behind enemy lines, protected by squads postioned right in front of the house, leaving all my soldiers (2 squads) dead.
  11. Is it possible to use HQs or other units to spot for i.e. a Wespe? It would be nice, since it would get the Wespe out of the heat.
  12. I just finished the Carentan campaign as the Germans. Allied losses: 1239 cas. (641 KIA), 6 captured, 10 mortars, 67 vehicles Men OK: 34 German losses: 321 (164 KIA), 6 guns, 43 vehicles. Men OK: 409 Add to that the fact that as the defender, I controlled more ground than I had at the start of the game... Tell me why I didn't win!
  13. I'm playing the Carentan Operation right now, and it's really starting to annoy me. There's this intersection I'm supposed to control. I have yet to lose control of it, yet every single time the battle ends and it's time to set up, I have to deploy 150-200 metres from the intersection, despite have quite a few troop in the area. Why is this? It's happened four times now. I'm playing the Germans, by the way.
  14. I've solved my problem! I was using DirectX 6.1, and the problems disappeared after upgrading to 7.0 [This message has been edited by Sven (edited 10-02-2000).]
  15. Am I the only one that doesn't have clear sound. When I play the game, engine sounds and artillery strikes kind of crackles. However, the sound files sound fine if I play them using winamp, for example. There's nothing wrong with my soundcard, and all other games/sounds/music, sound just fine. I only have this problem in CM.
  16. Another good review: Gold Medal Award... http://www.gamesdomain.co.uk/gdreview/zones/reviews/pc/jun00/cmiss.html
  17. I'm a little short on cash at the moment, so I haven't even ordered it yet. I will soon however. (Two copies, one for me and one for my friend...)
  18. Did you have to pay customs on your order?
  19. Isn't that possible? There always seem to be a line of sight through the tanks, and the units are firing right through the tank.
  20. I have only played the demo, so there probably is an answer in the real manual, but what's the difference between target and target wide when spotting for arty?
