  1. Wow, thanks. Please do list some, have you got the time. Btw, I almost always play scenarios or campaign, so in CMBB I've found it really hard to take advantage of any numerical superiority, even though I know that was a fact IRL.
  2. As a twin topic to my other post, and a spinoff on the KV thread, I must ask: Which Soviet tanks can take out a Tiger? (I'm getting thrashed by a friend as we speak (type) )
  3. I'm really having trouble knowing how tanks actually compare to one another. I have a pretty good idea about the U.S. v. German tanks, but when it comes to the Soviets, I'm almost clueless. Is there anywhere where I can find a chart or a comparison of tanks. I.E. "The Sherman is pretty equal to the PzIV" or "These tanks can knock a Tiger out"? Thanks.
  4. Don't you think Battlefront should work on some sort of fix? I find them very unrealistic, the way the work now. During the pause between two battles, it's in CMBO/CMBB/CMAK perfectly possible to group your guns/trucks or whatever within a few meters of the enemy, without even knowing. What actually decides those zones, anyway? [ January 14, 2005, 08:12 AM: Message edited by: Sven ]
  5. I'm very embarrased now. My friend says I should be... I've played CM since CMBO came out, and it seems I just forgot this. You're absolutely right, it's there in the manual. *ehrm*
  6. Well, I just noticed something. I can't believe I've never seen this - has it been there all the time? But time adds up every time I right-click to order movement. As for the MG:s, Maybe it was one of those "the-command-line-says-you have-LOS-but-you-don't" kind of things.
  7. Nope, can't be it - road all the way, and it happened repeatedly. Btw, this is v1.01.
  8. Deleted this - *embarrased to have asked in the first place* [ January 10, 2005, 10:37 AM: Message edited by: Sven ]
  9. The tank: Fast Move The MG42: Target
  10. I'm playing a campaign right now, where my units are behaving weird. A tank I have is given order to move, and the display says 5 secs delay. The whole turn passes, the tank doesn't move. Next order phase he has 23 secs remaining. It's a Veteran, independent tank. Any clue why? Same battle: a couple of MG42s are order to come out of hiding and start firing. (All target lines are clear) - still they don't fire, and remain hidden... getting killed in the process. It's a night battle, and the campaign briefing says the units are exhausted (but that's not shown in the unit display in any way) Why???
  11. In a campaign I'm playing now, I have a couple of on-map 105mm Howitzers. How do I use them best? Is it at all possible to use indirect fire, for example?
  12. I lost a gun once, to a couple of runaway truck drivers. My friend moved them within pistol range, and instead of reaching for their own handguns, my gun crew got slaughterd behind that AT-gun.
  13. It sucks, really. (In bitterness, having lost my two remaining T34/85s in a campaign, to my friend's Panthers.) I was living in an illusion, where I could hide them behind a stretch of woods in the summertime. Boom, Boom, gone. :-(
  14. Is it it at all worth trying? If so, when? I hid one behind a stretch of woods, and I figured "hide" meant that they camouflaged it somehow, only to see it get immediately spotted and destroyed by a Panther.
  15. Yeah, I knew about the truck part. Somewhat unrealistic, though. Also, since my friend and I only (so far - since CM1) play scenarios, we can't choose units.
  16. Is that the only way, I don't have any?
  17. How do I defend myself against air strikes? I just lost an entire platoon of T34/85s to a Henschel 123. I tried to place the tanks near houses, next to woods, etc, but to no help. Is there a way to defend yourself?
  18. Detonator R.I.P. didn't work for some reason, but the re-install worked. I still must ALT-TAB, though, but now it's like before. Thanks.
  19. I started this thread looong ago. However, I recently upgraded my drivers, hoping I wouldn't have to use the "ALT-TAB" thing anymore. I was wrong, and worse, now the ALT-TAB thing won't work. If I try using it the screen goes black. The sound's there, but I can't see anything. If I re-install the old drivers the problem's still there. I can play the game though, if I don't ALT-TAB at all. Another thing, I have a feeling this happened once before, but I can't seem to remember what I did to fix it that time. (btw, it's MSI FX5200, WinXP)
  20. Maybe you're right, but I still think it's slightly overdone. I've done my military service,in the winter, and a tour to Kosovo, so I'm perfectly aware of the weight. However. Russian soldiers charging don't/didn't carry a full kit, at least not in WWII. (1940) Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  21. Really, "advancing" 10 metres in snow won't make a soldier go from "rested" to "tired".
  22. I'm not just talking about mortars, even infantry/AT fire should be possible to delay.
  23. How do I use it effectively? If I assault the troops get tired very fast, but it is impossible to give them a "run" command for the first 100m and then changing into an assault command without stopping. How do you use it? Or do you?
  24. Just like it's possible to delay a move, it should be possible to delay an "open fire" command.
