I'm back!!!!!!! Two glorious fun-filled weeks on a tropical island in a country where the women and drinks are tall, cool, and refreshing -and all I could think about was getting back to my terminal to blow up all your little virtual bad guys with all my little virtual good guys. so, who's in my group anyway? ------------------ "Well then private, it must be sh*t. Good thing we didn't step in it."

Open Apology to Germanophiles
Jadayne replied to Dr. Brian's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
might I also suggest somekind of a warning system for when people try to continue locked threads. Something like "3 strikes and you're banned". Dr. Brian battlefront forum profile, interests:Teaching the world that Nazi Germany and those that fought for it were evil. um, hothead alert? ------------------ "Well then private, it must be sh*t. Open Apology to Germanophiles

I'm officially donating my two cents to pay for a lock for this thread. anyone can see this is just a continuation of the "please respect major howard" thread that was locked up for a very good reason -a reason that still applies here!!!! how the hell did this post get dredged up again? -
list of possible weapon malfs?
Jadayne replied to elementalwarre's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
don't forget that your AT weapons, when fired from inside, can set the house on fire -or kill nearby units. I suppose that's not really a malfunction, but it sure sucks. -

Has anyone registered at the PONG forum to tell them what this guy said about their game? -
Who has not been assimilated?
Jadayne replied to Claymore's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I always kind of assumed he WAS one of you old-timers, in disguise. Ever notice how you never see CM-Borg and Steve in the same room together? If we have the group assimilation, will there be refreshments served? ------------------ "Well then private, it must be sh*t. Good thing we didn't step in it." -
I have the same problem on my G3. The game comes in at 6x8. When I hit escape during the game, the desktop is also at 6x8 (very annoying) If I change the setting to something larger than, yes the resolution is better, but the game only appears in a small box on the top left of my screen. I've removed the prefs file and reinstalled the game. I never had any problem like this on my G4 at work. Any suggestions from you Mac users?

1.04 - Tac AI firing too much smoke? (at weird times)
Jadayne replied to chrisl's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I've noticed lots of smoke in AI battles, usually at strange times -like after all the oomph has gone out of their asault. Suddenly, the ground around my troops will be peppered with smoke for no apparent reason. No one's attacking and no one's necessarily retreating anywhere. Just smoke everywhere. I always assumed it was the AI. Are you sure it's all your smoke? ------------------ "Well then private, it must be sh*t. Good thing we didn't step in it." -
when trying to take out armour with infantry, try crawling "C" in front of the target's projected path. His treads generally become so gummed up with the innards of your squashed troops, that the crew has no choice but to abandon the tank and descend to the carnage below, where they promptly slip on aforementioned innards and bang their heads on the tank's fender, rendering themselves effectively dead. Admittedly costly, but alas, what cost victory. ------------------ "Well then private, it must be sh*t. Good thing we didn't step in it."

Strange things about this evening....
Jadayne replied to Jadayne's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I definitely enjoy it, It's much better than the same old "50 cal." and "LOS" arguements. Just, I thought maybe it was a full moon or somethin'. -
what's the Alpha Battle? ------------------ "Well then private, it must be sh*t. Good thing we didn't step in it."

Is it just me, or has everyone on this board tonight had a healthy dose of wise-assium? back in your cages! Back! Back, I say! I'm going to bed. I'll expect your flames promptly in the morning with my coffee. g'night. ------------------ "Well then private, it must be sh*t. Good thing we didn't step in it."

Huge Flaw, game ruined!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jadayne replied to Time's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
wait, you mean the monitor WASN'T supposed to explode when I booted up the CD? -
conceivably, the hull down indication you see during the playback could be imperfect -much like identifying units. If you think you're hull down, it might be written on the screen as "hull down?", but the only way to know for sure is to go to view 1 to check it for sure and adjust accordingly between turns.

I don't know about you guys, but Pearl Harbor just won't be the same without Jan Micheal Vincent and Robert Mitchum.

You know you've played too much CM when...
Jadayne replied to Daveman's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
you bring the evening's conversation to an embarassed standstill by blurting out excitedly how your stuart managed to take out two panzers during a PBEM. (reminder - re-read chapter on what NOT to do on a first date. -
no no no!!!! if you really must know, it's gophers and duck tape. must I explain everything?! ------------------ "Well then private, it must be sh*t. Good thing we didn't step in it."
