  1. I'm taking tomorrow off, so I'll be in position if it arrives, no waiting 4 hours to get home to play
  2. Mine went through. If it's true to form, it took 6 weeks for CMBO to land here from launch. Even Canadians had copies before I got mine
  3. Thanks, Steve. My ISP has a rep for dodgy email, but I've never really been affected by it. I was thinking 'Just my Luck'
  4. For the last four days, I have been emailing sales@battlefront.com, because I want to add a replacement CMBO cd in with my order, and there is a problem with the address I gave (wrong Post Code). I know that they've got to be busy, but because I havn't received a reply (from 2 email addresses) I don't know if my emails have gone through. I don't want to pay shipping twice ($20, local currency), so I want to know if I can do this. Seeya!
  5. I actually managed to quit by seeing a guy who turned out to be a sports psychologist who came up with a profitable sideline As you say, it's a nicotine addiction, so patches don't work. Only going cold turkey & not smoking works. Everytime I feel like having smoke (blessedly times few these days), I just remember what it feels like to run out of cigs at 2200 when you're not tired, the shops are shut & you want another one. And I say 'Bugger that'!
  6. You get this funny mettalic round thing in the mail. Been there, done that with the cigs. The worst bit is the first 2-3 days. To speed it up, drink orange juice or coffee (diuretics (SP?)) After 14 days, you should be nicotine free. I've been for abot 2-3 years now.
  7. I take it you'd rather be receiving order amendments than full orders?
  8. But I already _OWN_ CMBO. Many months ago the Hairless One mentioned the replacement CD price, and seeing as I'm an ocean away, I'd like to save on Postage. (Slightly crappy dollar too).</font>

  10. Hmm, There's Nothing there to add any special requests/orders. I would like to include a replacement CMBO cd in with my CMBB Pre-order. (original cracked, living vicariously off a CDR backup for over 12 months now).

  12. Well, if a tank that put three shots through my car was still in front of me, I'd be polite too
  13. double post [This message has been edited by PD (edited 02-19-2001).]
  14. usually Mind Your Own Business.... It's accounting software in Oz, but I don't think that's what's happening here.
  15. But nowhere do we see anything about Windows 2000 and Nvidia chipsets.... Sigh.. (It's not that important yet, but it's getting worse.)
  16. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Bozza: I'd have to say that SPR is the most realistic war movie I've seen so far, realistic being in a "show all, hide nothing" type of way. Just the way I like my war movies. Pity it's hard to find ones as good as that - any suggestions? As for the bird in the purple top, yes very mmm mm mmmmmmmmmm.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Hmm lost all of my text... Anyways, What I was saying was that, for me, Pvt Ryan had a lot of realistic episodes, but overall, was unrealistic because of the overwhelming jingoism the audience was subjected to. To me, the movie "The Longest Day" was more realistic, acknowledging that there were more people around than just the americans, the the pictures of the beaches through the sights of the two strafing planes showed more misery than "Ryan" was capable of. 'course it's only in Black and White. [This message has been edited by PD (edited 01-19-2001).]
  17. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Franko: I was trying to update one of my scenarios when I discovered it was gone! As well as many many others! There is only six or so..and there used to be dozens! What the heck is the problem? Frank<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> The front scenario page only lists the latest/top ten scenarios. There's a button furhter down to search for the one you want, or list all of them.
  18. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Strat: I have had the game for a few months, created a few scenarios and played some scenarios. How do I get a PBEM game? Is there a page at this site with people that are waiting for a PBEM game. Strat<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> By generating a post like this. Next thing you'll know, you'll get an ad for a ladder or two, telling you where LOTS of opponents are. Do you know how to generate a PBEM game? Or would you like one sent to you? Seeya!
  19. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Pascal DI FOLCO: Yeah man It *WORKS* !! 1 day and 5 hours after having asked "Where is ...", we & I have now access to Gunslinger's Lost Files ,after kind people here searched their HD, mailed to the lost Gunslinger, put the files again on a server, ... Thanks to everybody here for such a wonderful job. Matt, you can close the thread <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Happy to help, it's a great mod... Just glad to see you came back & got through
  20. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Pascal DI FOLCO: It doesn't work for me - access denied... But I'm not good at FTP either <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> You need to put the password after the colon after the username in the url, like so. ftp://cm:cmbo@142.55.231.199//gunslinger's/ worked on IE5.5, give it a go... I've been running the GRU1.0 for over two months, no other mod comes close IMHO. Seeya!
  21. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Ghengis Jim: Do all you hardcore coders who are really good at this stuff have any suggestions as to what I should do? Correct me if I am wrong, because I probably am... Over and Out.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Well, not being a world's expert, I had no problems with the Borland IDE. I don't know how you've gotten the paths confused, or remember how to fix them C++ is easier to learn (cin & cout) in a few ways to C. What I remembered since your first message was a great place to go & get some free education material. THere's heaps on the net, but if you go to http://www.bruceeckel.com/ you'll be able to download a book called "Thinking In C". It's free, go get it. You can buy it over the shelf too. I'd still recommend starting out small, and learn and digest each concept as you go over it. That's why I suggest console Apps. Seeya!
  22. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Ghengis Jim: However, I have had tons of trouble actually getting this thing going, and I think it may something to do with the header file(s). Well I have a Borland compiler/linker; version 5.00. I need to familiarize myself with the layout and such, and the Borland help doesn't help me at all because I am unresponsive to that stuff. Basically, I am about as new as they come to c++ and Borland tries to start you at an intermediate level in their training. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Umm, I think you're trying to launch straight into windows programming without learning about C++ True/False? Easiest way to start is setup a console (read DOS) application and do some REAL basic stuff like file I/O, String manipulation etc, etc... You can go over all of the major C++ programming concepts without ever touching windows (or MAC OS). It'd pay to get a book so you can learn about C++. You'll need another book to do the windows programming
