  1. With a hearty kick, John punts my scenario out of 'Semi-historical' and deep into 'Fictional'. Many thanks
  2. Did the 11th Hussars have Sherman Fireflies as part of their TO&E circa '45, from say Op Plunder on. If not, was it strictly Cromwells and A/Cs, or were Challengers and/or Comets thrown into the mix?
  3. This Op is not balanced, as you are finding out, and the situation gets worse as the game progresses. Be prepared to get steamrolled, if not in this battle then certainly the later ones as the Russians continue to get nearly the same amount of tank reinforcements each battle, yet the Germans get next to nothing both in tanks and ammo. The best you can do is deploy your remaining tanks so that each has a keyhole position to a very small slice of the battlefield, and wait in ambush for the Russians to enter it. This will reduce the ammo expenditure on your part as well as restrict the number of Russian tanks that can have LOS to your own tanks.
  4. Sly has asked for the next three, so the ball is in my court to offer up the pick of the litter. Hopefully these next won't disappoint.
  5. You really don't "use" them, per se, as they tend to perform better when left on automatic-kill mode. The best thing to do is to find that long line of sight with good cover position as you stated, and just leave them to plink away. You'll find that they tend to go after high value targets, such as TCs or heavy weapons crews.
  6. Sorry about the last one, I couldn't find a better pic BTW, you can find these pics and lots more cool CMAK-related stuff here [ May 08, 2008, 06:00 PM: Message edited by: Kingfish ]
  7. Good news and bad news. After a bit of finagling with two computers and downloading the 1.01 patch I managed to get the file opened. Thats the good news. The bad news is that it starts the game about a turn or two past where I wanted it to start. I'm going on fuzzy memory here, but I sorta remember the first turn starting just as the lead German tank gets past the 'gate', with the rest of the column charging up behind him like bats out of hell. The file I opened already has a half dozen German vehicles inside the Allied perimeter, so like I said it is just a turn or two beyond.
  8. Same here. IIRC, I ran ROW IV off my old rig. I may just hook it back up, just to relive the chaos again.
  9. Apparently I'll be paving the highway to hell, as I was unable to open the file you sent me.
  10. Depending on what St. Peter has me down for, my soul may or may not be good enough. However, I do have a working copy of map converter v1.29. Send me what you got and where you want it.
  11. Almost done, John. Just need the allied briefings and out the door it goes.

  14. I'm posting this again to reiterate I'd like some feedback to help me narrow down the choice of which to release for round 2. I now have 7 scenarios to choose from. A couple are again at 1000 pts per side, and they get progressively bigger in both points total and map size, with the largest at 4500/3500 on a 2km x 2km map. Forgot to mention, make sure your feedback does not compromise FOW for the games still in progress. Just keep it general. [ April 25, 2008, 05:56 PM: Message edited by: Kingfish ]
  15. Not so much improving as reinventing. The beauty of this scenario is of course the map, which with a few parameter tweaks will produce a new line of different themes and challenges. For instance, take the stock Fire Mountain map, change the region to North Africa, terrain type to arid rock and elevation to 5m. You now have the foundation for an allied attack across the hill country in central Tunisia. Say US 1st infanty against the Centaro. -Or- Crete, Dirt, 2.5m and we can explore a German pursuit down the floor of a Greek valley with a mixed Commonwealth delaying force -Or- East Africa, Sand, 1.25m takes to the Italian drive into British Somalialand against the Black Watch and assorted Territorial forces. -Or- You get the picture. Really the choice is yours on what you want. To be honest, it is a lot easier for me to start with a clean slate and add as I go, rather than the tedious bouncing back and force between CMBO and CMAK to see what unit goes where, ammo load, experience, etc.
