  1. Havermeyer, No, there has been no correspondence with BFC, which is not unusual since this is just a fan based initiated thing. CMBB will be done right away (with larger pictures), regardless of the number of units. First it will be slowly researching every unit in CMBB, what month/year bmp's change for the same unit (like infantry uniforms), and so on. Once that is done, I think the list will be completed pretty fast, and yes, it will be easier without installing and screen capturing 800+ mods. As for spreading out the work, I think that is not necessary. I did this project for myself so I can quickly check what is and is not available for my own gaming. I thought I would share. I can only promise that I will do my utmost to get the new mods posted to the list as quickly as possible. Please email if anything is spotted that I missed. I really appreciate the heads up. I do have several new mods sitting in my "todo" folder and a certain Canadian site with mods that I need to include. I'm also examining some method that I can list what has been added recently to the catalogue so people can jump to the appropriate page without too much searching... PS: I will be doing the CMBB MOD Catalogue right away because it would be a cool way of turning more people onto the game. You can point your friends to it and have them view the vast number of units available. I know that would turn me on. [ August 16, 2002, 12:42 PM: Message edited by: kump ]
  2. Lt Bull, You can find them in the Allied armored list of the CMMOS page of CMHQ.
  3. Michael, The plan is to keep it up to date. I have two mods sitting in my download folder that I can now finally get to and add to the lists. I'll be silently adding them as they come out. And of course, any email is welcome if a MOD is available that I had missed.
  4. gibsonm, Huh? <as beer spills on lap> What two categories? Hit the refresh button on the browser. This was an announcement that the last two categories were completed. Done. Finished. Out a' here...
  5. It is with extreme pleasure... no, relief, to announce that the CMBO MOD Catalogue is now done with the completion of the... Terrain MOD Catalogue and Odds & Ends MOD Catalogue This completes this project of some six to seven straight weeks of nothing but mod installing and screen shots for all my non-work hours. In other words, no RL. Once started and into it, I realized just how much an idiot I was. But I saw it through anyway. CMBB will get the same as soon as I get it. The picture format will increase. I will post the entire CMBB Catalogue once all of it is done. Though its more units and terrain, having no MODs initially will speed things up. Once the MODs start to come, the list could help MODers check what has been done and what has not. With that, I'm going to go drink several very tall beers and maybe, just maybe, play a CMBO game for a change. Enjoy!
  6. That is a Marder III-r. Its not in history books because it was rarely seen or captured. Its a result of the late Russian war where the idea was to shoot and run. Problem was the crew rarely stopped to shoot again. I think the 'r' designation was a reference to "retreat". Not many of them built due to the initial field study of the "gunning and running" tactic delivering less than favorable results. Just a guess. [ August 13, 2002, 12:52 AM: Message edited by: kump ]

  8. I like it. The more sites the merrier. Thumbnails are pretty straight forward and something you can do yourself without any further application assistance. It looks like you already know the graphical tricks by the appealing way you did your site. Send me email if you would like to discuss. Make sure you add those navigation links back to the previous main pages, even though you may think a browser "back" button should be good enough. You need to always provide an alternative navigation point. I am assuming that those CMBB sneak peek pictures you are using are only temporary? Once you get the game, I would suggest replacing with your own. I do like that you have taken the liberty to using what is available to get the site going. You probably do need to add something on your entry page on where the screen shots came from (BTS/BFC sneak peek bone screen captures: work in progress, may not appear same in final product). Love the main page layout and the map is top notch. Fits well. I wish you well with the site and look forward to your posting news of its frequent updates once CMBB is released. PS: Oh yea, one more thing. THANK YOU!!! No pop-up advertisement windows ensures I'll visit more often. [ August 11, 2002, 02:13 AM: Message edited by: kump ]
  9. MOD Catalog. What more proof do I need to show addiction and maybe just plain idiocy! What the hell was I thinking! Well, back to that Terrain list...
  10. Shameless bump. But also wanted to note that I increased the size of all the thumbnail pics for easier recognition and prettied up the main Catalogue page today, in case you didn't notice. Terrain list is getting, well, big...
  11. My currently installed Hetzer is your last Hetzer mod. The plain one here looks great as well, so now you put me in a pickle, trying to decide which I like best. The Hetzer needs a good winter mod. This one wins as the best available. Yes, I would like that one! I need that one! Hi-Res for the winter Hetzer! Its a must have. Give me! Of course, I always like the snowed on versions for just about everything. So a Gordon Molek snow work on that outstanding winter camo would do it even more for me. Though, I would be happy just to get it as is. You should start adding the following warning on all your mods... "Warning! The CM Community has determined that Andrew Fox MODs can increase susceptibility to the MOD Slut virus."
  12. With the completion of the British MOD Catalogue, I've completed all the CMBO units with only terrain and "odd & ends" MODs to go. And am I happy!!! British MOD Catalogue There IS light at the end of the cursed tunnel!
  13. Hey, I didn't object being called a little monkey, just the sick part! I was joking too. Guess that didn't go over well either ------------- Thanks Wolfe. Got the email/mod list. Huge! Very nice work. Will help greatly. Mucho appreciated. [ August 01, 2002, 10:25 PM: Message edited by: kump ]
  14. Okay Wolfe, who you calling a sick little monkey? I'm not sick. Where is this mod list you worked on? It could have assisted greatly, though I could still use it now to see if I missed something. The current method is just what I've been able to find and download. If its not available somewhere, how about sending me a copy of this list by email? Thanks [ August 01, 2002, 07:44 PM: Message edited by: kump ]
  15. Sneaking in after midnight again, to quietly drop news of another installment of the MOD Catalogue... And for the sharp eyed, you will note that Pershing is somewhat different. Maybe a link to get it is available (temporarily)... CM MOD Catalogue Okay, I'm going to tip-toe out a' here.
  16. Yank noticed the screen shots of the German soldiers at CM Outpost were, well, different. And they were. I contacted the MODer Michael Stewart and he informed me that it is available now at Tom's CM HQ in the uniform and face section. Look down the page and look for this entry... NEW: This mod was updated on the 7th of July 2002 with breathtaking hires variations made by Michael Stewart. DOWNLOAD ( 542 kb ) Authors: Marcus Bloess and Michael Stewart Its a great high contrast mod that really improves the faces (both normal and subdued). So I didn't forget about ya Yank, go get it...
  17. Yea, I recognized Magua pavement right away. But just couldn't resist the grass tradition. My plan is to include terrain, to include grass no less. Problem is how do I show it with the small images. Oh well, will have to do. Maybe it can be printed and folks can hold up the grass samples to the screen when looking at screen shots and drop the "what grass are you using" question. Something like a carpet sample kit. Hey, maybe we can put some samples on a plastic ring and sale it to the mod slut community? Wonderful Pershing mod by the way. I finished the Shermans for the MOD Catalogue, so making good progress. You think you can have that thing done before I wrap up the American unit list? Would be so lacking without that beauty adorning its pages. lcm1947, you now owe me for adding my own sneaky method of spurring Andrew on for this Pershing mod. I don't like to do such things, happy to get it whenever its done. But these screen shots Andrew keeps showing is pure torture.
  18. Yank, Good eye! I thought the pictures too small to notice. Sir, that is a non-released mod which was sent to me a few weeks ago to give feedback on. After receiving a second version with subdued faces, I kept it installed and couldn't get myself to replace. The detail is very good. I think you'll see it any day, but I'll send email to the author to see when it will be available and where.
  19. Olle Petersson, Hi and Lo. Yes, I did give that some thought. However (always seems to be a however)... 1) Most of the mods are becoming CMMOS compliant, which means you can convert to Lo-Res by its use. 2) You can visit the site directed to and look yourself. 3) I usually download only the hi-res mods anyway, so didn't have the matching lo-res mods in my work folder. 4) CMBB will be all Hi-res (the hi/lo stuff will go out the door), so eventually, any true CM nut is going to have the hardware to run it sufficiently. That means the hardware will run Hi-res mods for CMBO sufficiently as well, or so my theory goes. 5) Ooops. Too late. That is a lot of back research and work when I'm currently putting together the other catalogues. I will do my best to keep all the catalogues up to date, but I'm looking forward to playing CM again one day. Thanks for the suggestion, and I do appreciate any feedback on how to improve it. Unfortunately, I lean to being a lazy bum sometimes, so you get the "Great idea, but I just don't want to" kind of response. I'm not ignoring any request, its just sometimes I'm just being a lazy bum. Regards, Best Regards,
  20. No, your not the only one. Many drool on those screen shots. Its just, well, some are more patient than others. Stating that Andrew's work is astounding is repeating the obvious and something I'm sure he is tired of hearing. Hmmm... maybe not. Andrew, that work is astounding! I mean gorgeous! Drop down killer MOD! And I'm not kidding. Now I'll switch to kidding mode. Hey Andrew, what pavement are you using?
  21. Thanks folks, appreciate the feedback and speaking of such... Juha, Hmmm, looks pretty big on my 42"! Recommendation, get a bigger monitor Yes, its an issue of Web Host space and to a lesser extent, how long it takes a non-broadband person to load a single page with 40+ screen shots on it. It takes a LOT of space and a whole lot more to do (including CMBB). The purpose is served. Its a hint of what the mod looks like, who did it, and where they may find it. As a MOD slut, the shot is more than big enough to determine if you have it or not. Most MOD sluts will get everything, so they will know if a download is in order. So the other catalogues will conform to the same format.
  22. In the wee hours of this morning, I sneak into the CM Forum to leave news of the first installment of the CM MOD Catalogues. You know those questions. "Where do I get a good mod of the _____?" The catalogue is also a good place to see the complete list of units in CM. Okay, here is the link. Browse around and maybe, just maybe, you might spot something you don't have, even if you think your the worst MOD slut on the planet. The CM MOD Catalogue Okay, time to sneak back out of here and go to bed. There is work in the morning. Oh yea, work. Wonderful... [ July 24, 2002, 03:07 AM: Message edited by: kump ]
  23. The "assault" command is a movement command which I saw in the command list for a selected unit. I did not see a command that implies stay in place and use more ammo. However, I would assume (note the word assume) that assaulting units may be more at risk of taking greater damage from defending units. I mean, you would use the command when the targetted terrain must be taken at all costs. And if you don't have the sufficient force, then you will probably pay a high cost. A guess at best for the brief encounter with CMBB.
  24. aka_tom_w: Your welcome. Looks like your zeroing in on the "death clock" term hit gold. Madmatt taking the time to give the details was very nice to see. Posting the report was worth it just to get even more information. Thanks. Renau, Yea, I remember debating here about Anti-Aliasing and how the nVIDIA cards just did not measure up to Voodoo5 AA. Games like CM and SFC show cased the difference. Yet, I could not convince because most just assumed I was a 3dfx worshiper. Until you see the difference, I guess you'll just never believe. The GeForce4 AAx4S is still not as good as the Voodoo5 5500. I have two PCs with these two video cards and its amazing that the much older Voodoo5 still has the best AA in town. The GeForce4 has improved it though. There is still some jaggies and texture swims that the Voodoo5 does not have, but overall, a significant improvement. Its very close now in quality, so you should feel very happy with the GeForce4, because you get the better performance with it. And also, the GeForce4 card is completely functional with CM while the Voodoo5 had some odd quirks. All in all, I'm finally satisfied with a nVIDIA based card. Its about time!
