David, Operations are the most intense, nail-biting, immersive aspects of CM, in my humble opinion. And Rick is exactly right, the only problem is that there are'nt enough of them. Well, there might be another problem in that the wife tends to get very icy after you spend 12 hours out of every waking day playing them! Cheers!

Hate to throw even more fuel on the fire, but I just got done with a scenario in which something very strange happened along the lines of this discussion. Seems I had a King Tiger(SS) parked in a village about 100m from a house. Couple of turns later, a Sherman presented itself just on the outskirts of town. Drawing a LOS from the Tiger to the Sherman, I noticed that the line appeared to go solidly through the corner of the building, but still gave me a clear shot(light blue line) at the Ami. I thought that was odd, but what the hell, a shot is a shot. I targeted the Sherman and hit the go button, whereupon the Tiger proceeded to get off three quick shots, each of which impacted on the CORNER of the building and went no further. After the game turn, I checked LOS again and sure enough, was assured that I had a supposedly clean shot. Hmmmm... Don't know what it all means, just wanted to add my 2 cents worth. By the way, I was just curious as to wether or not my wifes divorce lawyer has gotten in touch with you guys at BTS yet? And to be certain that you understand that the preceeding was meant in jest (and at the risk of of a good Penging) I include this:

I have been playing this game for about a week now and while I simply cannot imagine life without CM (ask my wife), there were certain things about SL/ASL that made it very, very special to me. One thing I truly miss and will probably never experience with CM was the camraderie, the excitement, the boredom, the arguments, the sheer thrill, and, dare I say it, the good ole' male bonding that happened when four or five good friends would gather around a table made of sawhorses and 4'X8' plywood and play with TINY little counters for hours and days at a time. Sigh... I really miss those days. Neal, if you're listening, you would have LOVED this game.

Four attempts later and still no luck. I've tried everything I can think of and I still have no scenarios after installing the patch. This is really starting to burn my cookies! Charles, Steve, somebody, Help!!

OK, please assume for a moment that some of us are not computer literate at all. After tranferring all BMP and WAV files to appropriate places (using drag and drop, by the way) I then cut and pasted(as per a previous post above) the new CM application file to the CMBO file. I then deleted the old one. I created a NEW shortcut (Because using the old one resulted in version 1.00). However, when I hit the new shortcut and the game says it has loaded version 1.01, I now find I have absolutely no scenarios. Can anybody explain (In simple, one syllable laymans terms) exactly how I am supposed to do this correctly. I would like to add that I have patched many different games before and all those patches were self-installing, thus the current head-scratching. Thank you.

Hey that sounds cool, aka! Right now I've got my system going through a very nice Sony amp and Marantz speaker combo. Can get really loud. I just realized that I have a pair of Peavey stage monitors downstairs in my basement with horns and 12" speakers that would probably crack the drywall in the computer room! Hmmmmm.... 6-7 times a day. Think about that. 6-7 times a day, everyday for the past year or so. If I should somehow find a life, would anybody here with any experience be willing to show me what to do with it?
