  1. Me finks we oughta get this guy, Tokar, and Rob/1 together...they'll make a beautiful couple. [Evil Laugh] [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 03-21-2001).]
  2. It can be done either from Live!Task or the AudioHQ tab. From Live!Task, under I want to select Select Effects and then in the next pull down menu are a whole sleu of Environmental Effects including "Forest". From the AudioHQ tab, select Environmental Audio, this should open up a Window that has the same environmental effects listed from the above method, plus several fine tuning sliders. Also, you should have an AutoEA application that starts at boot-up that runs in the systray. It will automatically change Environmental settings for all your games. With that application you set an effect and associate that with an .exe file. So therefore, every time I run Cmbo.exe it sets the Environmental Audio to "Forest". And for games like Quake or something, a good EA setting would be Stone Corridor or Stone Room or something similar. Hope this helps. ------------------ For your dream car click here. 3. Or the spelling of "scenarioes". I think GriffenCheng is taking lessons from Dan Quayle. ------------------ For your dream car click here. For a Close Encounter click here. Hey look! I can see my house! And for all you Hamster Lovers out there, check this out! Kitty, this one's for you!
  4. I believe the attempted close assault probably was the culprit for the immobilization because I'm pretty sure that "ramming" isn't modeled in CM, especially between a HT and a Panther.
  5. Hmm, I don't know, but I got my first freeze up the other day after I had installed that new Allied Field Gun Mod that apparently had some invalid bmps. That's a mighty fine mod if I do say so myself, BTW. But anyway, I was cruising along the line of guns that I had loaded into the editor and as I got near the end of the line, the game freezes. My cursor still moved but the game just wasn't responding. Very odd. But that download was before Madmatt cleaned it up. ------------------ For your dream car click here. 6. ...write another tactics article which only pertains to Canadian Tactics on riding DeadHorses into the ground. But yet...
  7. I can't recall the numbers right off hand but NCrawler's mod had a sound map readme included so you might want to d/l that to check it out. [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 03-20-2001).]
  8. Yes, Juju is correct, the zip file contained about 5 or 6 unneccessary folders. So you need to go through them and manually copy over the bmps. Hmm, M Hofbauer, I didn't know minefields had signs in real life so any sign at all is unrealistic. I just played the scenario Mashausen and it had mines in it and the new signs were helpful. Yellow for Anti-Tank and White for Anti-Personel.
  9. Well not to knock your idea, but weren't explosions generally bright? I mean...weren't they?
  10. I don't know, but for: Master Building Modder I nominate Panzertruppen. His buildings are featured in more screenshots than any other buildings mods. Master Camo Modder I nominate Gordon Molek for his camo versions of Marco's tanks. (Insider's note: He's got some US Camo tanks coming shortly along with Whitewashed versions and they look great.) ............................................. And for a insiders note on what's next on Marco's billing, let's just say it has a busline. US citizens might know what I mean. ------------------ For your dream car click here. 11. Actually I use most of NCrawlers gun sounds over the MDMP sounds, however I use the MDMP's MG42 sounds over ANYTHING else because they seem to sound more realistic. I've tried Scipio's sounds as well, but for some reason they sound too metallic in-game. This seems to a problem with the way the CM engine plays some sounds because this has been a problem in the past with other sound mods. However, Scipio's site does offer some replacement German speech files that are quite interesting, so I'd suggest getting those. And for Panzer Leader, if you're confused about the NCrawler Sound Mod v1.6, it is on CMHQ and as well as on Tom's Website as small individual downloads according to what they are. Old Dog also came out with a few sound mods as well which contain a few sounds that aren't included in anything else. Those are on CMHQ also. ------------------ For your dream car click here. 12. ...create yet another Canadian CM site of which to offer yet more Canadian mods which only really cater to a small niche group, but then again, there's nothing wrong with that. But that's why we have people like DeadHorse who..... ------------------ For your dream car click here. For a Close Encounter click here. Hey look! I can see my house! 13. I agree with both you Tom and that waskily wabbit Andreas. Decapitating turrets would be a very cool addition to the CM2 engine and would serve greatly into the immersion of the game. However to code such a thing into the 3D mesh of each vehicle would be a major undertaking because look at what it would require. First of all it would include allowing several polys leaving the model and landing elsewhere on the the field. But once you think about it, we already have turrets in CMBO that get upheaved from their mounts with certain hits. I was doing a test last night with an Elite British 17 pounder AT-Gun against a Panther G and a KT. Within 40 seconds both tanks were knocked out, the Panther exploded catastrophically with the first shot and the KT was knocked out after two shots (first one missed). Result: KT turret got knocked off its mount. ------------------ For your dream car click here. For a Close Encounter click here. Hey look! I can see my house! 14. Yes Olle is correct. You have, or even just installing the patch may have, turned off the High Quality Smoke. You see the SHIFT-I toggles from "Off" to "Fast & Compatible" to "High Quality". If you had it on "High Quality" and accidently toggled it once to "Off". The setting of "High Quality" is necessary to see the fiery explosions. Then that is why you aren't seeing the smoke rounds or fiery explosions. Hit SHIFT-I twice and the graphics should come back. In fact with "High Quality" off you are seeing what the explosion looked like in the Beta Days and also in v1.0 of the Gold Demo. Charles added the Fiery Explosion part of the game with the v1.01 patch and v1.02 Demo. ------------------ For your dream car click here. For a Close Encounter click here. Hey look! 15. Oh GEE, that helps, point him to a "web ring" type of page. Try Mo's Combat Mission Website under his MODS section under Allied Vehicles. ------------------ For your dream car click here. 16. Ha! My uncle uses the same line of thinking. He says he's waiting for CM to come to stores. I said he'll be waiting till he's blue in the face. 'Cause it never gonna happen. He still doesn't believe me. I don't know how many times I've told him. I tell him to read the Battlefront.com Manifesto and it'll tell him why, but he won't because he's one stubborn son of a bitch. The thing is is that he's afraid of ordering ANYTHING on-line. He's afraid that they'll abuse his credit card number or somefink. I'm not gonna order for him. I can't baby his Internet fear. In fact he was afraid to DOWNLOAD anything. I mean sheez, when you go to a webpage, you're downloading something. He was so afraid of getting a virus. Which is funny, because he did get one a few months ago and it screwed up his system. But that was an email attachment or something. But this is coming from a family that hardly ever checks their email because they FORGET how to! BTW, I see some of this behavior in some of the board members, so this is why I come down on some of you that way. So WAKE UP and get with the INFORMATION AGE! ------------------ For your dream car click here. For a Close Encounter click here. Hey look! I can see my house! 17. On a Dynamic IP, usually the first three sets of numbers stays the same. It's the last set that changes. Ex. Mine is 216.240.083.xxx, where xxx will be different each time I dial up. ------------------ For your dream car click here. For a Close Encounter click here. Hey look! I can see my house! 18. Speaking of being sick, I had a hellava night last night. I started getting chills and coughing my head off yesterday afternoon. We went out to eat at 19:00. Got back home, at 20:30. Took my Temp: 101.8 on thermometer that usually registers me at 97.2. Took some Tylenol. Went straight to bed. Chills went away about an hour or so later. Spent the rest of the night burning up, sweating a bit (I don't do that much since the spinal cord injury). Topped out at about 103. Finally cooled down sometime late morning (before 06:00) and woke up feeling great. ------------------ For your dream car click here. For a Close Encounter click here. Hey look! I can see my house! 20. Well judging by the screenshot in the first post, I don't think I'll be wanting my game to look like something from the Looney Toons. ------------------ For your dream car click here. 21. Also I like to add that these mods will NOT screw up your game. As they are all just BMPs or WAVs. That's what makes CM's open modifiablity so great. It doesn't require some sort of mod installer to decompress a Fastfile or something. If you can drag and copy files from one folder to another then you can modify your game. But just to clarify something. You say "modding" as in "applying the mods to the game". Actually in this case, "modding" actually refers to actually doing the texture work.
  22. Hi guys, my first post in the last two days. Been playing EU a bit. Anyway, Blenheim, I don't get it. You come on here complaining about a trick that you pull yourself? Who's gonna take this rant seriously? Please. ------------------ For your dream car click here. For a Close Encounter click here. Hey look! I can see my house!
