CM and the latest iBooks
jeffsmith replied to DoctorGonzo's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
The newest "iBooks use the ATI RAGE Mobility video controller" with 8mb of Vram So make sure you get the Rev2 iBook it should run CM well enough There is a rumored revision of the iBook to be updated (hopefully)by MacWorld NY in July They may have even better graphics abilities I know I am waiting because even if they dont have updated graphics then the ones available now will get cheaper -

The Prelude to my CM addiction... ..was my WWII Books never got dusty -
I also have a 300 MHZ G3 Tower / Beige (actually 266 overclocked) I upgraded to a Rage 128 (VR) I am very happy with it While I like the Radeon I'm not sure the Upgrade would be worth it for this processor. If I had to upgrade now I would still get the Rage 128, saving my money for the eventual full computer upgrade (which will have a Radeon or Nvidia card)

What Happens to this Board, when CM2 comes out?
jeffsmith replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
BTS (& all faithful adherents) will deny CM1 ever existed those who resist this truth will be transported to indoctrination camps, where they will stay until they accept that CM2 and only CM2 is BTS's product: or until they succumb to the elements (Sorry Bruno merely backing up your original thought) [This message has been edited by jeffsmith (edited 02-15-2001).] -

REGARDING: 18. The Graf Spee never sank. The scuttling attempt failed and the ship was bought as scrap by the British. On board was Germany's newest radar system. Please See: http://www.ocean98.org/spee.htm The Graf Spee is now below the surface in 21-25 ft (7-8,2 mtr) of water depending on the tide level. It lies on the edge of a military practice firing range. The site is marked with two pillar buoys. The wreck festooned with old nets and debris and currents are dangerous. Silt and mud conditions make visibility almost zero. Also some very convincing photos of a ship that is resting on the bottom

Games that come closest to CM?
jeffsmith replied to B M Deleted's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
I believe the Army does some full scale training exercises that come close to CM But to join them there is the issue of travel and a few years of commitment -
MadMatt, Correct as usual. Definitely Finnish Lets give them some room here They can be Fierce Warriors & They are better Allies than Adversaries
