1. OK, sorry MB. But, sometimes we get these crazy screen names on the forum for the sole intent of trolling. Example "Gay Lover", who was just on the forum about a month ago. Nothing against gay's, however, we all knew what the purpose of the name was, to get the board fired up. No harm intended. Hell, lots of people think my nick is a joke too. But hey! If that's what you want, more power to ya. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.
 2.
quote:
Originally posted by Elijah Meeks: War is the final act of diplomacy. If a group of people are doing something reprehensible, you try to talk it out. You try to limit their access to dangerous tools. If all else fails, and they don't listen or change, then you destroy their infrastructure and their ability to do whatever it is they were doing that was reprehensible, emasculate their leaders and impose a new system that limits their ability to commit this reprehensible act in the future. That or, in the words of Conan, "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of the women."

I figured I would find Elijah here. I'm not a collectivist....really. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.

Lorak and I are playing now and I already lost to Von shrad. So I don't see me holding up the group from being gone. I expect to see this thread full by the time I get back. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 4.
quote:
Originally posted by Elijah Meeks: Wow Def, that's quite a bit of propaganda you've got there. Riddle me this: How many dead soldiers are enjoying the fruits of their labors? What is the difference between a murderer being sentenced to death and one of your German or Soviet "patriots" being drafted into an army and sent into death? What's the point of sacrificing your life so that others may live? Who decides that and when does it end? Your jingoism rings true on a message board and in politics but what does the common soldier care? He doesn't want your glory, he's just trying to survive.

Elijah; This is my last post on this subject. You know how this philosophy stuff can drag out. I see what your saying. But, I...ME.... am enjoying the fruits of dead soldiers. Apparently you are too. It's not about sacraficing your life so someone can live. It's about sacraficing your life for a life style. And for me, that's freedom (in a sense). Even sacarficing for the objectivist. THAT, is true freedom. Imagine trying to take away the freedom of every american. Where would the objectivist stand? Right, he would most likely fight and even die to keep his values and beliefs. Objectivism is a dream world, it doesn't exist except in concept. There is nothing wrong with self preservation. But, somewhere you have to choose a side. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.
 5. I think it's all a bunch of bull****. War is infinate, it's always here, always has been, always will be. War is the nature of LIFE, not just men. War is older than objectivism it self, and any man not willing to sacarafice for the needs of a another, a country, an idea, a flag, is weak. The reason most of us who live freely, able to even discuss OBJECTIVISM, is because someone Died! Period! Objectivist are "fence riders", weak people who can't make a choice on the beliefs of a country or god. Whats good for the many, out ways the needs of the few. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.

 9.
quote:
Originally posted by M Hofbauer: DEF, you can send em on over to me again to me if you need hosting.

Thanks M; But the bottom line is I don't think these PICS would prove anything that hasn't been argued. So really, based on what I read here, there is no proof the FF IIC existed. Right? ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 10.
quote:
Originally posted by vu95: Def Bungis, I'm no computer genius so bare with me. When I go to Control Panel>Settings>Display>Settings>Advanced>Adapters, it shows the S3 Savage4(Rizen's Tweaked Driver 2.02), so I'm assuming I managed to put in the new driver correctly. I also did go to VGA mode first, I believe. I went to Control Panel>System>Device Manager>Display Adapter, and then Removed the current Driver before I started. I'll keep trying. I know it's got to be better than the I740, right?

Well, your system is probably using the right drivers. Rizens drivers come with a tool for removing old drivers. First be sure of exactly what video card you have. To remove all old S3 drivers, set yor display to standard VGA - 640X480. Restart. Then go to the Rizens "files and tools" folder. There is a .BAT file there called "Uninstall core files". Run that. Then go back and install the tweaked drivers from Rizen. Be sure to install the correct drivers for your card. You may want to install the S3 tweak program and play around with that too. Good luck. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 11. Naw, this sound contact has to be a glitch. It jumps all over the screen. You can't even keep track of it sometimes it jumps so fast. It's not the same sound contact as before V1.05. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.
 12. I kinda like how it is now. So take of your FO's boy's!! ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by Jager 7: Def Bungis, Technically the FO doesn't have to call a REPEAT after each volley. He will recieve the allocated Fire For Effect, ie, a battery of three rounds or ten rounds or whatever. After that is completed and he still needs more fire he can then REPEAT the FFE or return to one round adjustment, or simply end the mission.

OK, so what is it. Either he calls repeat, or not. If he Does have to call a repeat mission somwhere during FFE, then gets killed, the FFE should eventually stop before all of the allocated ammo is expended This is how CM plays now. If the FO does not have to call a repeat mission, then ALL of the allocated ammo should be fired after the spotting round. Unless he cancells the fire mission. That means, if the FO gets killed, the FFE should not end. Right? ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 14.
quote:
Originally posted by Spook: A new request to DEF: Can you get the photo of the IC Hybrid (alleged as such) on the top of Pg. 60 scanned, as well as the photo of the Firefly on pg. 61?

Do we still want the PICS? I'll go ahead and get a scan on them. I'll make these smaller. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 16.
quote:
Originally posted by Jager 7: Def Bungis, Wow, I haven't seen that yet....doesn't sound good if that is the case. The last rounds fired should impact and then no more. Hmm, will have to look at that one.

Sorry to give false meaning here Jager 7. I DO NOT KNOW if that really happens. I was just reffering to the problem Scarlet was explaining. I can only think that this may be the problem. If an FO calls a fire mission and then get's whacked, the fire mission should cease after the last volley fired. FO's must call a "repeat" command on the radio after each volley is fired. If he doesn't, no more Arty. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.
 17. Try lowering your resolution and see what happens. If your running out of video memory, your graphics card may not be able to use the high resolution stuff. I can't think of any other reason if the files were unzipped properly to the BMP directory. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 22.
quote:
Originally posted by Spook: Thanks for the guidepost picture, Babra. My whole basis for "seeing" an M4A1 hull to the earlier Firefly's picture (from Def) is how I see the rear hull outline. I've looked at that picture from all kinds of angles (even near-level with the eye), and the rear hull top edge has a pronounced curvature from my view. The picture on pg. 60 of Wise's book (with the alleged IC hybrid) shows a top edge that is comparatively straighter.

Spook, I think your seeing it correctly. Both photo's have the same hull. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.
 23.
quote:
Originally posted by cbo: I am not shure what you referring to, but in the case of the Firefly picture, the round thing at the end of the muzzle is the muzzlebrake. Some guns have it, others have not and it comes in all shapes and sizes. Claus B

Yes, that's what i'm reffering to. So what your telling me is you can't differentiate between different types of armorment by this? ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 24.
quote:
Originally posted by Schrullenhaft: TRP's represent a very-well sighted/plotted area for bombardment. Their setup would suggest a defensive posture since spotting rounds would have to be shot and observed in order to confirm the plot. A meeting engagement on the other hand suggests that neither opponent has conclusively occupied the area previously (or one side has abondoned it earlier). Using TRPs in the manner you've suggested would be something akin to a "fire-brigade" approach to a defense (with the front-line either having retreated or not present). A battle/op could be designed for this, but a QB just won't allow for it. Sorry if this sounds obvious, it's just the reasoning I assume is behind such decisions.

I understand what your saying. But, when we talk about "off board Artillery" we are talking about an ARTY battery or battalion that isn't moving. They are in support of the offense. Therfore, it would seem to me that at least TRP's could be plotted during an attack. Right? ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.
 25. I guess a simple solution to this would be to move TRP's to the "artillery" tab when purchasing units. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.
